We went to this restaurant a few years ago when it first opened, and everything was clean and the food was good. We went back tonight after not having gone for a few years, and it is plain that the place has really gone downhill. There was only one waitress, and everything in the restaurant was dirty. Every surface was disgusting. There was food and spills on the floor, and not even the dishes were clean. The food wasn’t fresh, either. Don’t go here!

NOMILITARYDISCOUNT!!! Silly me I actually thought it was Mandarin as china’s main language, no no it is actually Spanish. Oh I’m right, why you ask… well it is due to their awesome music selection on Mexican music… which I may add was super loud. Where was my waitress from… Mexico city China… you know south south china. I was about to speak Chinese Spanish to the none English speaker waitress. The food was lightly warm… main to say on utility expenses I’m sure. Who I think was the owner was more busy handling a call then to properly seat my group… which luckly also spoke Chinese Spanish ^____^ I do have to say that the best part of our stay was the music selection. No great food should be wasted away without having to listen to Vicente Fernández with a side order of low budget cartel movie on the tv. Well, I’m off to correct wiki since they have Mandarin as primary language for china… they are so silly!

Have eaten here several times, its a hit & miss. Recently went in with coupon & they refused to honor coupon as written, this was the second time. I discussed this with the owner, she refused to honor her coupon & then came to our table repeatedly, while we were trying to eat, wanting to debate the issue. Was very disappointed they would not honor coupon correctly.& that we could“nt eat in peace, I will not return here due to that happening

Man I remember about 2 – 3 years ago, when I came to VIP buffet and it was good. There was fresh dim sum(shumai, pai gu) that all were of decent quality. After it’s first opening, VIP buffet has surely gone down in terms of quality, the Thursday buffet was $ 8.14 with water. The dimsum selection was sad, they only had 4 different types of dim sum which I would only consider two specifically dim sum which was the shrimp(Har Gao) and the Shu Mai. Both were kinda dry and very sad in terms of dim sum especially compared to how they were when they first opened. The other two were red bean bread and dumplings(which you can usually find at any buffet). Everything else in terms of buffet selection was mediocre. Nothing really stood out. The dessert selection was really sad. I don’t really have high expectations in terms of desserts for buffets. Especially when it comes to buffets that buy the pre-made kind(like coffee mocha cake, which is actually pretty decent when you defrost it right) but this buffet only had the coconut cake which was stale. I gave this place three stars instead of four because they had sweet fresh water melon, and our server was very kind, but I will never come here again.

This is your typical Chinese buffet. The food is semi-warm as is the service. The good news about this place is the price is good and there is a wide variety of food. There are at least 4 double sided warm tables along with a mongolian barbecue and a sushi bar. The sushi is no Blue Fish quality, but what would you expect for a buffet of less than $ 10. Not my most favorite Chinese restaurant but it’s worth coming here occasionally for a cheap lunch.

6.99 buffet includes a free drink. Vestibule smells like wet dog, not a good sign. Chicken hearts and feets are among the offerings, which may be why the wet dogs are patronizing this establishment. No dumplings, seriously? How can you have any pudding if you don’t eat your dumplings? Good wings. Salad bar is okay, with cucumber and broccoli, so they got that going for them. In summary, have the wings, and bring your dogs and decorate them with chicken feets. The internets would love to see that.

Okay let’s be real, iChinese buffet restaurants are usually about quantity but not always necessarily quality. I can’t say that VIP buffet blew me away but I did think the type of sea food dishes and the variety of food there were well worth the price paid. For a cheap price, there are crabs, shrimps, and even a Mongolian Grill service. The Service was pretty good. When you first walk in, you’re greeted by a friendly cashier who seems to make you feel at home. Then you sit down and a waitress greets you with a homely gesture to get your food first while they get your drinks. Although there were a few dishes that were not exactly on my favorite list to say the least; however, I thought some of the dishes tasted comparably good with other Chinese Buffet Restaurant. I would recommend trying the fried crabs, Beef with Broccoli, and definitely try to Mongolian grill. ALSO the drinks are a pretty sweet deal. 59 cents for the first drink. Again, I am not saying that this is a gourmet restaurant with unbelievably savory food since it’s unrealistic for a Chinese buffet restaurant to meet those standards, but I do think the cheap price is well worth the quality of food/variety of good you get there!

I’ve been here several times over the years. In the beginning, it wasn’t half bad, but it wasn’t anything unique that I would take the time to write a review. Well, this past weekend, we were actually going to First Chinese BBQ, but since they are both in the same shopping center, and it’s been more than a year since we last visited, we decided to try them again. I’ve heard they have new managment or maybe new owner, so here we are. Have to say that the price was enticing. It was $ 8.99 for Sunday night buffet, which is one of the lowest if not the cheapest I’ve seen for Chinese Buffet. Given it’s a Chinese Buffet, my expectation is way low, so I really wasn’t expecting much in terms of taste, service or anything else. I guess the first thing that went wrong was that we had to prepaid first, which is fine, but the cashier charged us 5 adult when my little one is only 6yr old. It was a good thing I noticed it on the receipt after I paid, so she made the adjustment in refunding cash for the difference. Next thing that wasn’t right is the mongolian BBQ, which was the prime reason as both my oldest son and I were craving. As we went through the line, there was big chunks of chicken and pork… but where is the beef? No beef were to to be found. The selection was bare, and no sauce option other than what the cook wanted. It took him about 10min to start on mine. My whole family thought the sauce was way too much and barely touched theirs. Since they didn’t have beef, I just had a small serving, and it was just way too much sauce for sure… very salty taste. For the other stuff, it was your typical buffet. Avoid the sushi as it’s a disgrace to even call them sushi. Since they didn’t have beef at the bbq, I found only 1 dish that had beef, which was beef and brocoli. The fish they had was very dried and had been sitting for some time. Most everything else was very basic and skimpy on the good stuff. They had shu mai(dim sum meatball basically), but it was dry and no taste. Basically, everything was basic and disappointment, and room temperature warm. Only thing that was half decent was their wonton soup, but I didn’t go there for wonton soup. Lastly, they had several buckets of self served ice cream. Figure you can’t go wrong with ice cream right? Well, for whatever reason, I’m not sure what brand or where these were bought, but the ice cream had not real dairy cream flavor aside from just sugary sweet. Not sure if these are even real, or what it’s made of. It was unfortunate as it was supposed to be a birthday dinner for my daughter. I regret that we didn’t go to First Chinese BBQ that we originally intented. Again, I was trying to keep everything in perspective in knowing that this is Chinese Buffet, and that it was cheap. But even still, this is the last time I will come here. Seriously folks, for the money, it’s not worth it.

This place is /bad/. We went just after it opened, close to 12, and all the food was cold. Very cold. The hottest stuff was lukewarm. The staff were really rude and the taste of the food was very bad, even for buffet Chinese. I’m actually surprised I don’t have food poisoning right now, but the night is still young. I tried a little bit of a lot of things and absolutely nothing was good. Nothing. I won’t be going back.

Well I picked this place because my Wife and I couldn’t figure out what we wanted to eat. The reviews from another website about drinks being .59 cents are bogus. Drinks are 1.50 I checked my receipt. We enjoyed the large selection. Very empty on a Monday Night. My wife and I enjoyed the dumplings! We are the the dumplings took about 20 of them to our table. Most of the food was good. We stayed away from the seafood. It cost about 18 $ for the both of us! Just remember its what you pay for. Desserts are pretty lame not that much of a selection and the ice cream cleaner spoon area was nasty.

Pretty good food ! Its only like $ 5.99 all you can eat. Its not 5 stars but its worth trying. The place is huge with mongolian bbq and seafood and desserts. They have wide variety of selections. I think the other reviews of this restaurant is old and managed by a different owner. This is a renovated place with new management as I was able to speak with the owner. $ 5.99 buffet and fresh food, hard to beat. Realy recommend it.

This place is really bad. It was warm inside so the air conditioner needs to be fixed. Majority of dishes were fried, greasy and lacked flavor. I was too scared to try the sushi, oysters or shrimp. Menu states drink is $.59 but I was charged $ 1.50. Will definitely not be going back to this place.

This place always try to over charge you. So make sure you look at the charges before you start eating. I went here last weekend and will be my last. Place is dirty and workers lack service. Go to LIN’S buffet off marsh.

I gave this 4 stars mainly because its only $ 6.99 for lunch/dinner Monday-Friday. The food is ok, nothing to be excited about. If you’re looking for good Chinese food, go a few doors down to first Chinese bbq. My mom did really enjoy the fish. It was freshly cooked and just to her liking. It’s kind of been hit or miss with this place. Sometimes the food is better than other times. But overall, it’s a good value for the price.

To begin, this buffet truly is on par with your standard $ 10/head buffet, and provides just as much food and then some. We went in with a $ 5 off(over $ 20) coupon for 3 of us. I had a 2 year old and was charged $ 2 for him. You pay before you sit down, I realized I had been charged $ 3.90 for drinks. I argued with the man, as we only intended to drink water. He first said we needed to buy drinks to get the $ 5 off. I knew very well what that coupon said so I pointed out it said no such thing. Then he argued that we had the ability to have anything we wanted(tea, coffee, etc). As I resent paying a 2000% markup on beverages I reiterated yet again that we never intended to have drinks; so he repaid me $ 4 in cash. The place was almost entirely empty. I went to wash my toddlers hands and the bathrooms were clean. The buffet had several stations and the food was very similar to any other buffet we have been to. They were out of white rice but retrieved some quite quickly after I bought it to their attention. They also had various options for children. Mongolian Buffet: What a joke. There was none, so I asked about it. The waitress told me I needed to tell the owner who is quick to overcharge for drinks what I wanted, and they make it in the back. I explained a Mongolian BBQ is usually frozen food they cook in front of you, but not here. She summoned the owner over, and he said the Mongolian BBQ consisted of beef, chicken or shrimp, lo mein and veggies. I opted for all that except shrimp, and they bought it out within 5 minutes. It was a huge disappointment, as Mongolian BBQ enables you to get whatever you want, and here you have to TELL them and they do it in the back. When it came out, it was almost precisely everything they already had out(of course they had lo mein, beef, chicken and veggies at the stations). So DON’T go there expecting Mongolian BBQ. A plus is that Everything is included for that $ 6.99 price, so not too bad. They had various ice creams and sherbets, no soft serve ice milk here.

OMG Im not sure how or when the last review was but it was very inaccurate. First of all there is No Dim Sum. There were a poor attempt at some sui mai it was nasty. Second the sea food was probably illegal because the blue crabs were so small they looked like fiddler crabs you find on the beach, besides that they were fried ! The shells from the blue crabs were stuffed it looked funny being so small i certainly didnt want to try them. We drove from Arlington after the Cowboys game lets just say we should of stayed in Arlington tx the food would of been better. I did try the crayfish, they were too Salty… Stay away from VIP Buffet its the worst in the metroplex

Let me start off by saying that I had a hard time giving this place an accurate star rating because for me it is better than a 3 but not exactly a 4. I’d give 3.5 stars but if you consider that this IS a buffet and it only costs $ 6.99, 4 stars it is. There were many choices and the food was good. I know at buffets if it’s slow, the food is not always refreshed often enough so I was happy we hit it during a busy time. We went for lunch on a Sunday and it was very busy and the food was all very fresh. I was impressed that they had mussels, blue crab and clams on the buffet. All were quite good. There were other nice fish offerings as well(steamed white fish, baked salmon and fried whole fish). There were 3 or 4 types of dim sum including shu mai, steamed dumplings, and some sort of bao but not cha shu bao :( There were many of the standard Chinese buffet dishes as well including lo mein, super thin angel-hair like noodles that I’m not sure the name of, jalapeño chicken, orange chicken, beef with broccoli, the usual soups and quite a few others. The hibachi bar was simple but a nice plate with mushrooms, fresh shrimp, onion and bok choy was good. The sushi bar had very simple items too but was very fresh as they had a sushi station where the guys made the sushi right there and nothing was sitting around for very long. I was hesitant about going here because of the mixed reviews, but my experience(with 4 others) was very satisfying. I’ll go again for sure.

Oh wow. I should have turned around in the parking lot the moment I saw the previous reviews. In my defense, this place was not my selection. Essentially, unless you plan on eating one of the 3 – 4 most popular items on the buffet line(ie, jalapeño chicken, orange chicken, sesame chicken, and a wild card or two), you may be feeling the effects of your food for the next 4 – 6 hours. Maybe instead of the buffet altogether, you could be better off with the hibachi-style offerings? Good luck with that. The worst part is that even my water had a funky taste, so I clearly should have opted for the free(yet sugar and empty-calorie laden) beverage. No more lunch buffet at VIP for this girl.

Okay, so the majority of the food here doesn’t necessarily blow your taste buds out of the water… but even though most buffets are about quantity over quality, there are quite a few«finds» at this particular buffet that might surprise you.(and make my visits totally worth the trek!) BLUECRAB. Ooooh… the blue crab. They tend to be meatier in the fall(for some reason???) The sauce is thick and full of flavor and with a fork and some skill, you can easily dig into the white, flaky, and slightly sweet flesh. I like the onions and green onions too — they might not always have crab, but when they do, I go to town. The black bean & clams are all you can eat near the back with the Dim-Sum. Mmmmm… I usually love getting this at normal dim-sum but I never am satisfied. Get them while they’re hot! The sauce is a little runnier than I would like, but the clams are still full of flavor! In summary: Things to try: Most of the seafood… the shrimp in the shell is always well seasoned. Most of the seafood is pretty tasty! They also have baked crab, fish, and crawfish. I’m a bit strange and enjoy making rice noodle soup by adding the stir-fried rice noodles to the wonton broth — Voila! Tasty noodle soup. And of course, the blue crab… ooooh the blue crab… Things to avoid: The sushi is usually stale… I had a few pieces once. That was enough to turn me away from ever going back. :P Nothing that made me sick, just worse than standard. The fruit isn’t very fresh, but the oranges aren’t bad. I usually stay away from the fried food, but that’s just me. I haven’t tried the Mongolian BBQ either, but there is just too many other things that look much better!
