January 23, 2016 My brother is moving, and my brother in law and I have volunteered to help. My brother, like most of us, has collected a variety of items, and it seems that many of them are very near the threshold of weight that I’m able to comfortably move, and, some, frankly, are too heavy for me. That’s the backdrop to some serious hunger, and when we finally got to the point where we were thinking about lunch, there was about 15 minutes of, ‘what idea do you have’? I don’t know why it took so long; Dickey’s should have been on our minds for hours. It was my first visit, and, having gone once now, I know I’ll be back. On this visit I had the two meat meal, and I chose the pulled pork and the brisket, along with a side of Jalapeño beans and a Caesar Salad. If you’ve not been before, know that they have a condiment station similar to a Starbucks. You get to choose the sauces that you’d like, mix them up if you want(I chose the spicy one and mixed it with the house sauce on this occasion), and they also have a free ice cream machine that you can access. The meat was nice. It was moist, tasted good, and was so tender it fell apart easily. There was no fight involved, and, after moving heavy stuff for four or five hours, I totally appreciated this. The Caesar was nothing special, and I love beans, but these did not do the trick for me either. Next time I’ll try some different sides. Having now been to a few bbq places, this one was the cleanest. Clearly they are making an effort to help people feel comfortable in the place, and I did. The other establishments I’ve been to have great food, but many were very sketchy about their cleanliness. If clean and neat is important to you, they’ve got you covered here. I’ll be back, moist tender bbq with nice sauces in a clean environment were the keys to success yesterday after a morning of moving heavy things…

A strange little joint… Good food and friendly enough service, but a bit overpriced for the portion sizes… We paid $ 25(including $ 3 tip) for two tiny pulled pork sandwiches with 2 small sides and 2 little baby sodas… For that kind of cash, I want to leave with a box of leftovers. They have«specials», but the day we went the special was ribs, and I didn’t want ribs. Also, the ordering process was a little confusing for me, a first time visitor; for instance, nowhere on the poorly organised overhead menu does it say«pulled pork sandwich». I had to ask if they had them… They did, and they were really tasty. We ordered the small size sandwiches(because we couldn’t afford the bigger ones) and they were indeed small. The sides were good too(coleslaw and waffle-cut fries), but the iced tea dispenser was empty, they were completely out of poultry for some reason,(the guy shouted that piece of information at us as soon as we walked in), and no one told us about the free ice cream… I’ll give this place another try; next time I will be expecting to drop a healthy chunk of change… it will have to be a once in a while treat for us… If they had a combo meal deal that included a drink for less than $ 10, I’d eat there often.

I visited Dickey’s this past weekend. Paid $ 35.00 for two adult, 2-item plates, 1 child’s meal and 2 small sodas. I thought the flavor was pretty good, but wasn’t all that impressed with the amount of meat. We had the brisket and smoked turkey, with sides of baked potato casserole, mac and cheese, cole slaw. The free, soft-serve ice cream was, as another reviewer portrayed, runny and tasted like goopy marshmallow topping in a cone. Icky. They need to fix that. I’m honestly not sure I will go back, as I feel that for the price, Chili’s in Carson City actually has better quality BBQ, nicer atmosphere and I would pay about the same price.

Man. Absolutely tasty. The service was outstanding. And the girl with the tattoos is not only very nice, but a total fox as well. Ten stars. Eat here.

The Lady and I have been here three times so far. The food is great and the service is fast. So if you like decent bbq then try them out. Why three stars, you ask? Those go to the sarcastic and borderline angry people that staff this establishment. Today we went in and ordered the usual but were met with hostile and unhelpful service. A prime example was when the Lady ordered a side of mac n’ cheese and was literally told«no» by the staff up front who then went back to what he was doing. When asked to repeat himself, the staff didn’t answer but someone from the back kitchen yelled«15 minutes!» I won’t be that guy that rambles on about things at restaurants that pissed me off, so I’ll end this here. Basically, steer clear of this place if you don’t want to be met with hostile staff. It is a shame though because their food is decent.

What a great lunch. I’ve had better BBQ elsewhere, but for a chain place I am pleasantly pleased. The coleslaw is identical to KFC(I love their coleslaw). The mashed potatoes — very good with stuff in it and cheese ontop. Had the 2 meat meal. Brisket was tender and tasty(way way way better then the stuff they gave me at Reds the other night). The other meat was ribs… needed no sauce, tender and delicious as served! And who can’t pass up the free ice cream cone? That alone is an extra star in my book.

Dickey’s is a great fast food bbq place! I’ve been here twice for lunch and I just love it! The first time I came here I tried the brisket sandwich. The brisket is nice and tender with a smokey flavor. My husband had the ribs plate. Although the brisket sandwich was good, I like the ribs much better! They are cooked perfectly and fall right off the bone. The sauce is nice and tangy, just the way I like my BBQ sauce! For sides, we had mac and cheese and waffle fries. Both are really good! I really enjoyed the rolls they have here! So good and buttery! The place isn’t too big with just a few tables. The workers here are friendly and attentive. They go by and ask to see how everything was tasting. Great customer service! They even have free soft serve! Overall, I definitely see myself a regular here!

June 22, 2013 Saturday — dinner 5:45PM 2 adults and a kid Atmosphere — 5 stars Food — 5 stars Service — 5 stars Background — Down in Carson to visit a friend during her softball tournament. Atmosphere — Part of a strip mall. You step in and you lose that feeling with the wood siding old pictures and advertisements. The new Dickey’s in the area all feel the same, just different floor plans. Food Appetizer — nope Drinks — A coke from their fountain machine. Nothing special My Main Course — I had the chopped brisket for my 1 meat meal. They have three sauces that you can help yourself to; I went with the spicy one. It was not over powering. The brisket had some nice bark to it, lots of flavor on those pieces. Dessert — They have free soft serve ice cream, I did not have any but my daughter loved hers. Service — Greeted when walked through the door and the employees where on the other side of the restaurant. Asked questions about the kids meals and they were very helpful. You could tell one of guys behind the counter new a lot of the customers that came in that evening. They also said good bye as we left. Future — Yes I would.
