Short trail, with one narrow high spot. Should be easy enough for the family. Pretty waterfall even during this drought. Nice spot for a short hike.

This trail head for the Kings Canyon Waterfall trail has just been renovated and is all nice and new. No graffiti or trash scattered about. Trail improvements are, improved access, removal of rock obstacles and generally a more accessible trail for those who are not as agile hikers. There is plenty of parking. The trail head is reached by following King St. in Carson City all the way up towards the hills, where it will turn into Kings Canyon Road, keep going all the way to the end and park. The dirt and gravel part of Kings Canyon Road continues from here all the way to Lake Tahoe. This Kings Canyon Waterfall Trail is for hikers only, no Mountain Bikes or Horses allowed! Signs are posted. It’s just a short less than 1 mile hike to the waterfalls. This is a nice access to the back country. This trail used to be a big party area with trash and broken glass all strewn about, but that’s been cleaned up for the most part. Check it out if you are in the area!
