Port of Subs

I went at noon to get a sandwich through the drive thru. There were several cars in line so I knew there would be a wait. I ordered my sandwich and the girl who gave it to me was very friendly. When I got home I realized the sandwich was wrong. It had pickles and onions which I did not want. My drink was also wrong. Dr Pepper instead of root beer. I called and got Sam, the manager. I explained my situation and he was rude to me and told me to come back and he would fix it. I explained I only had 15 more minutes on my lunch hour. I asked if he would give me another sandwich and drink. He was rude and said he would only give me a sandwich. I asked why he wouldn’t replace the drink since it was wrong too. He, again, rudely said fine. Never once apologizing. I remember when Port Of Subs used to be the best. I won’t be going back to this or any location… ever. You lost my business, Sam! I don’t even want your free shit.

I drove all the way over here to get a lettuce wrap and they were out of lettuce! Ridiculous!!!

I hate to do this because I love Port of Subs. I have been a long time customer but since the new owners took over and all the old staff left but one, I hate going there. The new owner and his new staff are horribly rude and just don’t care about the customer. The bread is hit and miss, sometimes it’s good, today it was like cardboard. I went through the drive through because I didn’t want to deal with the new staff and again met with rude. She cut me off before I even finished my order. I had to finish my order at the window (the one nice staff checked me out thank goodness). It’s a shame because I just almost cannot bring myself to go there anymore. I actually wrote the corporation hoping they will infuse some customer service into the new owners because it is the worst I have ever experienced. What a shame. Even the old employees couldn’t take it and left.

Customer service here is TERRIBLE. The new owner is really rude, and consistently closes early despite posted hours. He will close up to an hour early just because he feels like going home. Lazy and rude, and the new staff will barely make eye contact with you. I suggest going to another location.

I was pretty disappointed – the bread was a bit stale (in the evening), the toppings were skimpy, and the price was overall way too high for what I got. I won’t be returning to this location again, and will probably visit other sub chains instead of this one in general.

What can I say? It’s a Port Of Subs. They make pretty good sandwiches, but they’re just sandwiches. I do like that they slice the meats and cheeses fresh for each sandwich though. That’s a nice touch, in my opinion. The real reason that I’m even writing this review is the service. There’s a blonde lady who works (or worked) here who is just awesome. I think her name is Christy or Chrissy. Anyway, she is extremely friendly and personable and helpful. Sadly, I haven’t seen her in a while. Maybe I’ve just been coming in at the wrong times or something. Or maybe she has moved on, which is a huge bummer. Either way, the last several times I’ve been in, I’ve been waited on by the middle eastern guys, one of which is the owner, I think. These guys are just flat-​out unfriendly. Not that I’m saying that they’re hostile or rude or anything, just not friendly in the slightest. They greet you, make your food and ring you up, but they do it all in a very quite, solemn, unsmiling way. I don’t expect a hug or a lap dance or a hand-​knitted scarf when I go for lunch, but I also don’t expect somber, stone-​faced silence either. And that’s what these guys give me every time. Even the obviously stoned, completely inept teenage kid that used to work there had some level of personality, but these guys are like statues. Anyway, I miss the blonde lady and if I’m right and she’s not working there anymore, I’m probably just about done giving this particular franchise my business.

Went to this location today. First time in a long time. I noticed they had new owners. Not the usual crew. I asked if they were new and they said yes. They were really skimpy on the meat and cheese. I took sandwiches home it home and the family noticed there was very little meat. I felt like all I ate was bread. If they keep that up. They won’t make it. The place was clean and they were friendly. But the food was skimpy. Cold cuts aren’t that expensive. People will catch on and go somewhere else. I have eaten at shops in Reno and you don’t have to get a bigger sandwich if they put some meat in it.

I come here when I’m really hungry and don’t want a burger. This Port o Subs is unfortunately hit or miss. Sometimes the bread is fresh, other times it’s the consistency of a cedar plank. The two ladies that have worked there the longest are their greatest asset but the high-​turnover employees show the fact that they are making sandwiches to pay the bills which must kind of suck.
The facility is a tad run down. They have a light over the glass case that has been broken for years and is kind of just dangling with a piece of electrical tape hanging from it.
I get the number 5, it’s pretty much bomb proof.

This is an ok Port of Subs out on Highway 50 in Carson City. I usually go to the North Carson outpost, even though this one is closer to my work. Much closer. Why? Well they have a drive thru but they ban the use of credit and ATM during lunch hour. Talk about stupid. I’ve never seen more than 1 – 2 folks in line here and given how slow they are to count the cash, you’d think the cards would be faster. Plus, given that someone has to MAKE the sub, why can’t they have the person running the window handle the transaction? Totally dumb. With fewer and fewer people carrying cash, I just can’t see how this approach can be sustainable.
