This review is delayed, I ate here but in December, 2015 We had a hard time finding this place because we were looking for a building that said The Naked Spice, but the building says La Posada Real. The benefit of that is you get chips and salsa when you come in and you can order some margaritas that are really good.

So happy to have good Indian Food in Carson. The owner is so nice, and she is the one that takes your order and serves your food.(At least all the times we have been there). She’s always really good at making suggestions and making sure you are happy with your order. I’m a vegetarian and usually get the Eggplant. My sister is a meat eater and loves the Chicken Masala. I’m a wuss about spice and sometimes my meal has been a little too spicy, so if you are like me, be sure to order mild. Also, my boyfriend isn’t open to trying Indian food, so it’s actually a plus that The Naked Spice is located within a Mexican restaurant. AND who can be upset about the ability to order a margarita with your Indian food? ;) I can’t say enough good things about this place. I hope we can look forward to The Naked Spice expanding their menu soon!(I’d love to see Veggie Masala and Aloo Mattar.)

I had hoped for much better, but found myself disappointed. First off, they are located inside of La Posada Real Mexican Restaurant. They have a very limited expensive menu. We tried to order chicken curry and they did not have this available. They do not offer naan bread either… It is really weird to sit in a Mexican restaurant and order Indian Food. I thought the menu was way too limited and very overpriced for the local Carson customer, but then with a limited menu all items should be available.

Firstly do not be put off by the fact they are in with LA Posada Mexican restaurant. This can be a plus if you have someone who does not like Indian food buy does like Mexican cuisine. Secondly they do not have a large menu, but what they have is yummy. I had the leg of lamb and it was tender, tastee with just the right amount of spiciness. They are friendly and very accommodating. I would definitely recomend everyone try it.

My wife and I came in for our anniversary dinner on saturday night, the day before Valentine’s day. As long-time fans(and cooks) of Indian food, we’ve been going to Reno to eat Indian foods, and decided we’d try The Naked Spice here in Carson City. Because it was a holiday event(since they are closed on Sunday, Valentine’s day I guess they had the holiday dinner a day early for those wanting Indian on Valentine’s day) the restaurant offered a special, a variety of dishes showing off the cook’s talents. Short version of my review: WOW! More detailed version: The cook is extrememly talented and we were served a variety of dishes reflecting regional differences in Indian cooking. All were as good as it gets, it’s the kind of quality cooking that makes me want to lick my plate after I’m done eating(when my wife’s not looking, that is) I believe the wait staff were taken a bit by surprise by the sudden filling of the restaurant a little after we were served our food, in looking around we noticed that staff was extremely busy taking orders and providing food. I couldn’t help but notice that the staff were well-trained in priorities, while my water glass was kept full the real focus was to get everyone food on the table. After the kitchen had caught up with all the orders then the pace slowed to something more reasonable. My daughter-in-law is a professional cook in a large(high-end) restaurant, so perhaps I see the business a bit differently than most customers, but I am as impressed by the wait staff as I am with the chef. I live in one of the parts of Dayton where for many people, ‘dining out’ means eating at the casino or Jack-in-the-box. This restaurant is not for them, it is for people who want each bite of food that goes into their mouth to be the best quality ingredients and prepared to show the best characteristics of that food. We will be back to eat here again!

This place is a complete chaos. It’s a Mexican Restaurant shared with Indian Food. The waitress serving Mexican food awon’t take order for Indian Food. We planned to order both the foods and had to work with two different waitresses. They missed our order and didn’t ask for water as well. There is no partition as such within the restaurant to know which section serves what food. In short, all though food was ok but experience was pretty bad. Won’t come again or recommend anyone especially on a weekend.

I stopped for lunch at The Naked Spice and had the chicken tikka masala. The chicken was pretty tender and the sauce was good. The dish came with some rice. The portions were not large, as I have found with many Indian restaurants(nor were they excessively small). I would return to The Naked Spice for dinner, but probably not lunch. In my opinion, if The Naked Spice wants to develop a thriving lunch business, it needs to offer some more attractively priced lunch specials. As it stands, there is one menu for both lunch and dinner. The pricing is reasonable for dinner but I don’t believe it is competitive at lunch. I know of many good ethnic restaurants where a very tasty lunch special can be had for significantly less. I believe that if The Naked Spice were to offer several lunch specials for around $ 10 that included a meat item(such as tikka masala), some aloo gobi or Indian-style mixed vegetables and rice, their lunch volume would increase dramatically.

The Naked Spice is now all Indian cuisine(inside the La Posada Mexican restaurant), so many new menu items. Chicken Tikka Marsala is awesome! Palak Paneer is so good, Palak Murg is very good too. Thank you for being here in Carson City, the only restaurant that serves authentic cuisine with authentic flavors. So tired of Carson City BLAND restaurants, though all in all Carson City is a Bland little town. Thank you The Naked Spice for daring to be authentic, I’ll see you soon.

First time dining at The Naked Spice restaurant… WONDERFUL Indian flavors with just the right amount of «heat». They were having a promotion so four adults = a FREE bottle of wine with our meal! YIPPEE! We will be back! Prices were fair and our waitress from London was GREAT in attending to our needs.

Had lunch at The Naked Spice, wonderful food! The spice level was perfect and the bread rounded out the wonderful flavors. I’ll be going back often. I enjoyed the Aloo Chloe, Chicken Tikki, Raita, and some spinach curry. Everything was flavor, delicious and the staff was pleasant.

My wife and I enjoyed the Indian dishes at the Foodies Bistro in the BAC and were disappointed when we made a visit to their old location and found it closed. To our joy they have a new location in a shared space with La Posada Real on Retail Drive. The chicken curry is addictively tasty and the lamb curry is fantastic(I like mine with extra spice). Both have nice tender chunks of meat in a fragrant tomato based sauce. We added some flat bread and spicy veggies and washed it down with chai tea. What a feast. It all tasted more like home cooking than the dishes you get at the Indian buffets in Reno and at Tahoe.
