6 $ for a little shot of jäger lol I would have drank 5 or 6 shots at 4 $ but I had one and left. If everything else coast this much I wouldn’t try this place.

While visiting Lake Tahoe, took a drive out to Virginia City and stopped in at The Spoke for a few drinks and a snack. We ordered chicken nachos — they were out of this world good, tasted like full restaurant nachos — no correction, better than full restaurant nachos! We played some pool, darts and hung out for a while. The owner, Kim came over and talked to us, was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend not only for atmosphere and drinks, but great food! We were pleasantly surprised this little stop on our way back to Tahoe would be such a great experience. Will visit again if I’m in the area. ;)

Lunch review– we continue our Summer School Bacon Cheeseburger Tour of Carson City.
First off, best damned onion rings in in town. Something told me to order them and I’m glad I did. Decent bacon cheeseburger with a patty as thick as a telephone directory. Nice fresh raw onions, flavorful tomato slice the size of a small hub cap. Friendly service, not crowded when we arrived 1-​ish. Looked like they had some other great items on the menu, although it is primarily and bar and pool hall.
Rumor has it that it’s called «The Spoke» instead of the «Twisted Spoke» because some joint back East was called the «Twisted Spoke» and they got all bent out of shape.

We don’t go in as often as I would like. The owner Kim, is so nice and she’s an interesting person. Love chatting with her. The food is great. The best hamburgers in Carson City. The best part is, it’s a no smoking bar and it’s extremely clean.

its an all around good place, you got your favorite bartender, tv or sports shows going on the flat screens, you can play or watch the balls fly at the pool tables, once in awhile you can visit the live music, and grab some good grub. with that ice cold beer!!!

Shannon was parched and I was hungry, so we made eye contact and said simultaneously.“THE SPOKE!”
As operator of a local pool league, I’ve become quite knowledgeable about this place. I was around when it was originally called «4 Pints». And I was present when it officially changed to The Spoke. As a funny side note, the bar was called «The Twisted Spoke» at first, but ran into minor legal issues when a bicycle company on the east coast sent notice of a trademarked name. Now, I don’t see how a bicycle company is going to worry about a bar and grill in Carson stealing their business due to the same name, but people are people.
It’s one of the few non smoking bars left in town. The staff is remarkable, the owner is very social, and even with the different range of people types you still feel welcome and safe. Let’s not forget about the amazing food! Pool tables, darts, video poker. Very clean! A must stop!
