Jim Manton is a miracle worker! I have had so many issues with my bike… first I was sold a 56, then sold a 54… turns out I am actually a 52 women’s specific. The last bike I got (which I now love) was blessed by Jim and I am over the moon. I used to dread going on rides because I am slow and I would always have saddle issues. He fixed me up with a great saddle and now that I am on my new bike that fits me, I am very comfortable… and a little faster!

I purchased a new road bicycle a few months ago. It was a big step up from my old bike and it felt really different. Since my friends and I are preparing for the AIDS LifeCycle ride from SF to LA in June, I thought it would be a good idea to get properly fitted for the new bike. I did a lot of research and found a wide range of providers, ranging from guys with a bubble level and plumb line to high-​tech motion capture imaging studios. I figured if I was going to spend the money, I might as well go with the best.
I’m not a professional athlete or a competitive cyclist; I’m just one of those nerdy bike commuters you swear at in traffic who also rides a road bike on the weekends. As such, I was a bit intimidated at the thought of visiting a fit studio that serves pro-​level athletes from around the globe. My reservations were quashed when the proprietor Jim Manton met me at the door. From the minute I walked in, I was comfortable and confident that I’d made the right choice.
Jim spent an entire afternoon watching, talking, measuring, adjusting, and experimenting with me. He used a combination of experience, intuition, measurement, and collaboration to find the best positioning. I couldn’t be happier with the results — the bike feels like it was custom made for me, better than I imagined it could be. And the best part is that as I get accustomed to the way the bike rides, I have two free follow up appointments to fine tune the settings if I need them.
I honestly can’t recommend this service highly enough. It was worth every penny, and the folks at FinalFit are some of the most knowledgeable, personable, and dedicated professionals I’ve ever worked with.
