Went here for lunch on a Friday and we beat the crowd! Super laid back atmosphere, but it actually reminded me of the carinderia back in Manila — homey, not flashy, practical décor. I ordered the 2 combo meal for less than $ 6(great deal!) — it comes with rice and 2 entrees. I picked the Bicol Express and Ginisang Baguio Beans(my fave). My dad got their über famous Pancit Malabon which the owner made herself! He also got(after my prodding) the Dinuguan and the Kaldereta combo. It was too much food actually, but I wanted to taste a little bit of everything – the All You Can Eat price of $ 9.99 is a no-brainer, but I have to be really hungry for that! If I didn’t want to bring home leftovers, one entrée is actually the perfect amount. Food was very close to my mom’s cooking. I should have tried the Kare-kare and the Lechon, but there’s always a next time. Yummy goodness all around and the owner and staff were kind and very accommodating.

The Best Pancit Palabok/Malabon in California. No need to go anywhere else to get your palabok fix. Other items are good and tasty as well and fairly priced. Customers Service is first class and friendly. Don’t just take my word for it, you should visit and try it yourself. Definitely coming back. Mabuhay!

Don’t bother yourself going to this hole-in-the-wall. This place is a joke. I placed an order with the owner for 100 pieces of lumpia to be picked up at 1 p.m. today. I get here at 12:50 p.m. and the lady at the counter is asking me to wait an hour for the lumpia. It’s pretty sad since I asked the owner if I have to make a down payment on the purchase of the lumpia she said it was okay and that I didn’t have to go ahead and make a payment. She said it will be ready by 1 p.m. all I can say in one word is this place is a joke. Go to some other restaurant and place the order. At least you’ll have it done on right the firsttime. If I could give this place negative stars I would. Straight out PATHETIC!

−−27÷100 reviews for 2016– This is the ONLY place I trust for pancit malabon/palabok. They have the perfect flavor and freshest ingredients. Not even my own godmother(sorry Nanay!) could come close to making her pancit malabon like how Manila Sunrise does it. If there was a taste testing contest with different malabon dishes, I’m sure i’d be able to guess which one is from Manila Sunrise. I’m so serious haha. That’s how consistent they’ve stayed over the years. Wish I knew their recipe ‚( Pancit Malabon is a famous filipino noodle dish that originated in the city of Malabon, Philippines. It is made with shrimp sauce, napa cabbage, chicharon and seafood(usually shrimp), then sprinkled with green onions on top. MMMMMMM(; I’m getting hungry as I type this. You’ll never know how yummy it is until you taste it. TRUST. So, I’m not too sure about their other dishes, but I do know you can trust them with your catering orders for your filipino parties. Heck, even if you’re not filipino i’m sure you’d LOVE it! Cons: Cash only & the owners/employees aren’t the friendliest. lol

Place is filthy and in need of renovation. Food was nasty. Basically felt like I was eating slops.

Very disappointed. You order THEONLYFOOD worth ordering(Pancit), and give them a time for pickup, but you end up waiting 45 minutes. 1 st time I waited for 30 minutes and thought it was ok because they were busy, 2nd time waited 30 minutes because they were low in staff. 3rd and last time, I waited 45 minutes on a regular weekend and they had 3 – 4 employees just waiting. Worst service, and it seems it’s getting worst. Not worth it for only Pancit.

I believe they only accept cash. Call to be sure, just in case. Delicious, delicious, delicious pansit palabok! This is literally the only place I enjoy ordering palabok! It’s so time consuming to cook this dish, so we always order from this restaurant. I call a few days ahead of the date and I pay and pick it up on the day I asked for. The people behind the counter are very nice and helpful. This place is also a restaurant. They offer select Filipino foods and have plenty of tables to enjoy your food. The venue itself is old and it can definitely use a remodeling, but it is what it is – a filipino restaurant :) It doesn’t matter though because they make great palabok!

Not a juicy Filipino hot spot The food is bland and does not taste like homemade dishes from yo mama’s kitchen. The dishes on the counter looked like it was recycled from the day before and very dry looking. The food is edible but definitely one of the worst Filipino food I have tasted. There is a $ 10 ayce which sounds like a really good deal but after looking at the food offered I opted to get just the $ 62 combo. Plus when I was standing at the cashier I was not helped until 5 mins later. The guy was sitting there but he was doing something else and had a hard time hearing and in my opinion should not be handling the cash. He almost didn’t give me the right change but an employee saw it and told him to correct it. Of course if it was giving me more money then maybe it wouldn’t have been so bad but I was getting less money so of course that diminished more of their credibility as a business.

Cash only :(Whhhhyyy??? I took off 1 star because of this. What an inconvenience after I ordered, they packed up my food to go, I headed to the cashier and saw the sign that says cash only, then realized that I didn’t have cash with me. I never carry cash. The staff apologized and told me there was a Bank of America inside Albertsons, which was a block away. That’s a big problem in my opinion. There were so many other Filipino restaurants that takes credit card and I could’ve had easily went somewhere else. But I didn’t. I got cash and came back. As for the food, everything I had was really, really good and they gave me lots of food for super cheap! 2 dishes with rice were less than $ 6. I guess walking to get cash was actually worth it in the end lol. I had… –BINAGOONGANGBABOY– Pork cooked in coconut milk and anchovy paste and chiles. Meat was super tender and the sauce wasn’t too salty. Wished it was more spicer though. –GINISANGAMPALAYA– Sauteed bitter gourd with eggs and pork. It was perfect just like how my Mommy Cakes would make it at home. –small order of PANCITPALABOK $ 7 — Noodle dish with shrimp sauce. OMgoodness. It was sooo good. The sauce was the noodles were perfect. I’ll definitely come back for this!!! –BIBINGKA $ 3.75– Rice cake with cream cheese and salted egg inside. Just wonderful!!! I ate the whole thing and didn’t share with El Hubby Cakes. The staff were really nice and friendly and the place looked clean. Very outdated and old, but the food matters more than the interior. This place definitey offers really good Filipino food with a super affordable price, just make sure you bring cash :)

Antho L and I met up for lunch and being a pro in filipino food, Antho L wanted me to try out Manila Sunrise. Suffice to say, I was not disappointed. First off, they had an AYCE buffet for $ 7.99 and they have over 12 different dishes. Some of the notable dishes include the beef adobo, menudo, pork grinds, and the tangy sour soup which was an amazing pallet cleanser. Sure the décor here is nothing to write home about. However, you come here for the food, not for some fancy dining experience. With it’s plastic plates and utensils, this place does not ooze romantic ambiance, rather, it is all about the food here. If you’re like me and unfamiliar with filipino food. Give this place a try and you will get a nice sampler of popular filipino dishes.

This is the 4th Pilipino turo-turo restaurant(food is laid out cafeteria style and you point to what you want) that I have tried after Handugan, Tita’s and Manila’s Lechon in Carson all of which are in close proximity to each other. I went around 2 p.m. on Sunday thinking that it would be after the lunch hour crowd but the place had a steady flow of customers trooping in from the church next door. The place is small and has a cozy feel to it. Thankfully it has a more structured flow for ordering — you start at one end and pay at the other. I went with the standard two item combo to go($ 5.99 + tax) and selected Chicken Adobo and a fish dish whose name I do not know. My server asked if I wanted the head or belly and I went with the belly he also sheepishly told me that this is very sour, but I wanted to try it anyway. I did not see any deserts laid out like Manila’s Lechon(which incidentally was the cleanest of all the four locations and felt inviting) so didn’t get any. Again did not get any soup so don’t think it is part of the combo(It’s included in Handugan and Tita’s). They are strictly cash only so come prepared. Taste wise the fish broth was way too sour for my linking but the fish was good. Chicken adobo was better that Tita’s and Manilas Lechon but not as good as Handugan. I’m no expert on Philippine cuisine so this is just a reflection of my taste. Another thing I noticed was way too many pepper corn shells in the food and I don’t mind a few but after a couple of bites I was spitting them out. It is hell of a lot of food for 6 bucks and change and I will be back to sample some more things from menu.

the best Filipino food you can buy… tastes the most like my Mom’s cooking and she’s Kapampangan. Five stars for the food. Minus one star because they can’t take credit cards, they close early, and they don’t have much food left at the end of the day. They’re also very«hole-in-the-wall» which is fine by me, but may matter to others reading this review. the only reason I ever buy Filipino food elsewhere is for convenience. — bistig(beef steak) flavor is on point — chicken falls off the bone in their chicken adobo — they give you a lot of meat with the kare-kare(unlike most places that only give you one or two pieces) — longanisa served throughout the day… what’s not to love about longanisa? — only place in/near the South Bay to get pancit malabon

This is your typical family run Filipino restaurant. You know you’re in an authentic Filipino restaurant when you find sliced hot dogs in your food. Personally, I didn’t dig the hot dog slices in the menudo. I thought the chicken adobo was good. The prices seemed reasonable. We spent about $ 28 for four people for the 2 dish combo that included rice plus some bottled water.

Went to Manila Sunrise today and had their BOMB buffet for around $ 10. This is a response to Hazel K., who wrote about not having her palabok on time for Easter… You have to understand that this place gets TONS of orders… ESPECIALLY for Easter. Of course, there will be many other orders for that holiday, it’s common sense. They clearly have a sign that says«We have the right to refuse service». From what I was told, this Hazel lady was giving the owner,(who is a nice old Filipino man) a hard time, so of course, a family member working there would get mad. Maybe if you ordered ahead of time, you probably wouldn’t have had that issue. This place has some of the nicest staff working there… and there are many loyal customers who would agree as well. Maybe… just maybe if you avoid«Filipino Time» and have some kind of patience and understanding that something like palabok being ordered for a specific holiday like Easter is totally understandable. Much love and continued respect goes out to Manila Sunrise… they have given back to communities in the Philippines AND in local places around this area. Keep up the great work! :) One last thing… who in the hell will believe someone who only made a Unilocal profile with NOPICTURE and only 1 review just to complain? C’mon now!!! LOL!!! Unilocal,I say weed out the trolls like this, because there are way too many people with an «opinion» that claim to be «real» people. Thank you.

Good food, small parking lot,(felt authentic since there were a lot of people speaking tagalog I think?). At first when I walked in I was a bit confused and didn’t know what to order or what to get. Lucky for me and my girlfriend that there was like 1 guy there that spoke english and helped us out a lot. He was nice enough to let us try a few samples and explain what the popular dishes were. The lechon, turon, red sausages, and beef/onion dish that was good. We also got the pancit malabon, but to my personal taste the noodles were too soft, BUT it probably is meant to be a bit softer then pasta noodles. We also got to try this sour soup dish that really reminds me of this cambodian tamarind soup I grew up eating. Excellent surprise. I would definitely go back
