This place has gone down hill I mean they didn’t have to much variety before but now they’re are row and rows that are empty! I don’t know of they are going out of business or what but every time I go it looks like they haven’t restocked!

If you are looking for a place to buy inexpensive produce, this is the place. Keep in mind, there is not a large selection of exotic fruit like you might find in a larger grocery store. But there are the basic fruits and vegetables as well as many Hispanic favorites. The rest of the store is pretty basic with average prices. I basically go here for fruits and vegetables only since they have the lowest prices in a 4 mile radius.

As i walked in, you can hear the rather loud muzak system playing old school songs like«Together» by Tierra smf«Got to Be Real» bu Cheryl Lynn. It sets the mood for a typical smallish Mexican supermarket like Payless, Several las abeulas while shopping were shaking their fanny — if only ion their dreams. Some no doubt knew the previously mentioned songs and mouthing the words, and were usually accompanied by their daughters, a.k.a. «mama» with los ninos in tow. It was not crowded 11AM during in midweek. But they only had one cashier, and a line of 10 or so people. WTF? So I put the few items I was going to buy — all on special: — A 12 pack of 12 oz Pepsi soda was $ 3.33, instead of $ 4.50 each. — A medium sized bottle of imitation store brand pancake syrup was $ 2.99, normally a dollar more. — Mexican grown little mangoes — both the Manila type Ataulfo and the Brazilian grown Tommy Atkins variety were both 3 for $ 1. — Small slightly blemished apples red and yellow delicious) were 77 cents a pound. — They had a special on Chicken Thighs and Legs for $ 1,99 a pound, but no way could I buy that and keep it in the car. They meats looked decent, and like most Mexican markets, you can watch the guys cut and pack a lot of the stuff sold that day. Some unique items i saw were Nopales(cactus) as well as cactus pears. As an aside, did you know the cactus leaves are one of the best things you can eat to control the spiking of blood glucose levels? The also had a very good selection of chicarones and snacks that are tasty but very bad for you… per bag… like eating three Big Macs! I didn’t see any check cashing stands or send money order to Mexico type services, nor was there a sit down place to eat from the hot deli like the big shots of Mexican markets like Superior or Buy Low markets. Other than the one cashier and long line, it’s an OK place.
