Dude… This place is your best bet for local Poke in Carson. The portions are plenty in the poke bowl. I ask for extra Furikake on my rice… no problem. They have several different kinds, my favorite is the spicy mayo. I come here weekly and haven’t had a negative experience. Did I mention staff is really nice. They also have these taro chips from Thailand that are amazing! This is really a to-go poke spot. There eating area is small. Its a bar type setup with 6 chairs. A school across the street causes traffic and parking a lil hectic around 2 ish. Otherwise a definite place to go to for POKE!

Didn’t enjoy it. Salmon was too chewy and no variety of toppings like the usual poke places. Just fish and rice(brown rice was extra). Expected better :/

What keeps us coming back is actually the katsu. Solid quick katsu in the area. It’s best to take it to go as the shop is small and from what I’ve seen usually crowded with people standing around waiting for their food.

Okay, this place seems underrated. We came here for lunch, and I was amazed at how good their poke tasted! I love the fact that they have completely kept this tiny eatery simple. They only have a couple of different flavors, but they were delicious! The serving wasn’t bad at all, and quite filling, actually. More importantly, their fish was fresh! I just wish that they had more seating. This place could use a bigger dining area so they can attract more people because they deserve to get people’s business!

I love the vibe in this place, it really makes you feel like you’re in Hawaii. My overall experience was great and I’m only giving this place a 4 star because the space is small, seating is limited, and the seats are only high chairs. Nonetheless, the food and service was great! One of the best poke I’ve ever had. The tuna pieces were big and flavorful. The spam musubi was huge, but I do wish there was some sauce inside because it was kind of dry. They also offer salmon poke made to order upon request! I definitely want to try the rest of their menu when I come back next time.

I had higher expectation for the poke, but I’ve had better. The kalua pork was decent, but it could also use some improvement. The service was chaotic. When there was a crowd, the line went outside the small store. It looked like everyone was panicking, and each customer was asked to repeat the order at least three times by three different people.

For my 100th review(!!!) I would like to share my favorite lunch spot. I craaaaaaveee Poke Etc. Daily. Hourly. But I try to only come here once a week because it’s like feeding a monster with me. Poke Bowl every time. I can’t seem to get away from the spicy mayo poke. I think its the best. The rice. So warm. So fluffy. The seaweed on top makes me so happy. I’ve been to the other location on Carson, but the employees here are a bit nicer. Therefore, I come here a lot more. I’ve come for dinner, but I duno, I just think this is more of a lunch place for me personally. Parking lot is crap, but there’s always a spot. Just I get so nervous about dings in my car with tiny parking lots like this. I love this place. Thank you so much for Unilocalers for suggesting this place to me. There are chairs here, but they’re high stools & there’s only about 5⁄6 seats, FYI.

Honestly, one of the best poke places i’ve been to! The portion is fairly large for the price you pay! Also, this is the ONLY poke place that ever let me sample the different flavors! I tried the kimchi and my friend had the ginger. The ginger was really good, not too overwhelming but light! The Kimchi one was pretty good as well! Coming here next week for some Oka though.

What a pleasant surprise. The people that work at the Poke Etc on Willow in Long Beach, also work at the Carson location. I’ve been on a poke addiction for a long ass time, so I decided to give this Poke Etc a try. And I may need to come back to the plaza for my Filipino food fix. Tons of Filipino restaurants here to satisfy my craving. First thing you notice about this location is that its pretty damn small in here. Probably seats only 6 to 7 people. Andddd to the Poke. I usually get the sweet and spicy salmon Poke bowl. Lately I’ve been hooked on the spicy mayo salmon poke bowl. Taste great! Price: about $ 11 with a coke. I think they charge a bit extra for the salmon Parking: Tons of parking. Service: Always really friendly. The worker recognized me because I go to the Long Beach location a lot for lunch. Will I be back? Hell yeahhH! Definitely going to add this place to my long list of Poke places to eat at!

I’d give this place 3 stars, but the portions are great for the price! Poke etc is located at the back of the plaza, closest to Bonita street/across the school. There’s plenty of parking, but just make sure you don’t come around 3PM! Lots of school traffic and kids walking in the plaza and across the street. Definitely a to-go place. The inside seats like 5 people against the window. The menu is pretty straight forward. I would recommend getting the chef special on the small chalkboard menu since you get a bit of everything. This is a small mom and pop place and I don’t think they get much business since they’re always in the back of the kitchen. there’s no bell or anything on the door but there’s a bell on top of the poke fridge that you should ring if you’re not greeted by the employee. I got the chicken Katsu chef special with the spicy mayo which was really good! I wish they gave more rice though. I really liked the poke I chose. I could tell they don’t use high quality bc you can feel the«fat» on the tuna as you chew. and since the spicy mayo sauce is like orange it’s a lot easier to hide it. My boyfriend got the chicken adobo with the kimchee poke. He thought his food was ok. the adobo got really oily towards the end and preferred the spicy mayo poke over the kimchee poke. He agreed that there wasn’t enough rice either. Don’t expect high quality poke though. I like this place because of the quantity they give you and the different choices they have!

I love coming here during lunch breaks. It’s fast, delicious, reasonably priced and much better for you than fast food. Poke bowl($ 6-$ 7 ish). Comes with rice, poke, and a little bit of furikake on top. I always always end up getting the spicy mayo even though I swear to myself that I will try another flavor. I also love the fact that they have so many different kinds of drinks just chilling in the fridge next to the register. Service is great! All the ladies that work here are sweet. Never once had a bad experience here and I come here once every two weeks or more lol There’s always parking too! Will be back.

Poke-licious to the max! Everybody is raving about poke lately. If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em! Why not?!! They’re super delicious and great for lunch. Location: Poke Etc is situated next to Aling Delia’s, a bit crowded of a plaza if you ask me. Parking gets a bit tough but worth it for that perfect poke! Atmosphere: 6 seats available for a quick grub. Tight space especially when there’s a rush. The line gets packed to the door. Decors need work but that’s not why we’re here. We want poke! Customer service: The Filipina ladies were very friendly and held great conversations with my group and other guests. I always feel right at home whenever I go out to places where I can speak my first language, Tagalog. They were very welcoming and humorous. I also liked that they address frequent comers by name and know their usual orders too. Hopefully, in time they’ll remember mine too(: It was my first time at this location but I’ve been to the LB location numerous times already. I have to say, service here is better but not by that far. The ladies were more cheerful and quicker to get the line moving. I like that they’re attentive and have a sense of urgency since mostly everybody is on a timed lunch break. I was in no rush today so I had more time to decide on my lunch. I observed a lot of people come in and out for pick-ups/take outs. They are sponsored by EAT24 so feel free to order online and pick-up, no hassle! I’m glad that works out for them because since I came at 12nn to be exact, it was a mad house. EAT24 is a definite lifesaver for businesses like Poke Etc. If you’re not tech-savvy, then you can also call ahead 310.847.5520 Onto the menu & food. I suggest going for the Poke Bowls with either rice or salad. Unlike other poke spots, you can’t do half rice half salad. Actually, you can’t really sub or modify their entrees. It is what it is type of deal. You can upgrade to brown rice for 50 cents. It’s hard to admit but I think I like all their flavors, ha! You can sample them before ordering so you know for sure. I really enjoy the Limu(with black seaweeds), Sweet & Spicy, and the Spicy Mayo. Often times, I get the Oka too. Just depends on my craving. Bowls average $ 7.50. If you’re hungry hungry, go for the Chef’s Specials! They’re only 45 cents more compared to the bowls. Such a steal, $ 7.95. One of the boys ordered the Chicken Katsu which comes with rice and poke. Huge portion and very fresh! The Katsu’s are made to order so there’s a bit of a wait. It was cooked to golden, crunchy on the outside. The chicken was juicy, thumbs up all around. I made a self-reminder to order a chef’s special next time. Chicken adobo sounded good! If you need a quick snack, stop in and grab a few of the Portuguese Musubi($ 2.25) and/or Spam Musubi($ 1.95). Quick & easy. They do run out so order ahead. I have to come back for their ilocano sausage breakfast plate. I’ve been in search for a good one like my dad’s cooking. These sausages are made with vinegar and garlic flavor. Not too bad for a price of $ 4.50. And it comes with eggs! Heads up, breakfast is served all day! I do wish they opened earlier than 10am. On Sundays, they open at 11am. Oh wells. I’ll be back for sure. See you next time, mga ate’s! Masarap lahat: D

Hands down, the best Hawaiian-style poke that Southern California has to offer! And they got tons of it. Limu, ginger, wasabi, soy sauce in ahi tuna, salmon, mussels, and octopus style poke. It’s already been pre-made so it’s had a chance to soak up ALL the flavors of its marinade. All you gotta do is eat it with rice, or by itself! And you can take tubs of it home! You can even pre-order online! And not just poke, they got a Hawaiian and Filipino lunch menu. Not much space for in house dining, all they got us a bar ledge and stools. But whatever. It’s good!!!

My go to poke spot in the area. Plenty of parking, fish is always fresh, and workers are super nice and friendly. They’ll typically have their tuna poke ready mixed so you can have a quick meal ready to go. Their salmon poke is made to order so it may take a little longer but only a few minutes and not even worth stressing over. They do serve breakfast all day which I haven’t yet tried and a few other cooked dishes. If you don’t want to wait and want to grab and go, order ahead by phone or through Eat24 and they’ll have your order ready in a hurry. There is not much seating besides a few bar seats though.

Poke etc is my favorite poke shop in all of LA and that’s a lot to say because I have been to more than 15 poke places in LA. I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed them after all this time. Poke Etc is one of the 2 places I know of that offers authentic Hawaiian style poke that’s actually good. The other place is Jus’ Poke in Redondo Beach. They don’t do tiny scoops of fish but giant chunks of tuna. All the fish is also pre-marinated in their sauce so the poke is super flavorful. You can get your poke by the pound or with rice. The rice bowl comes with just rice, poke, and furikake(seaweed sesame flakes for the rice) and nothing else. I think that the poke by the pound is a better deal. They charge about $ 14 per pound, which is a great deal compared to their other places. They used to be in the back of another store but opened their own store a few doors down in the same plaza. There is always plenty of parking in the lot. The store is small so there’s only a few chairs if you want to eat there.

I have been to almost every single poke shop in LA/OC. Why? Because I work for a furikake company(you know the seaweed seasoning on pokes? Yeah I go around poke shop selling that). That’s why it’s my job to go to every single poke store and get them to use our furikake. I’ll be straight up honest, I started Unilocaling so I can get Unilocalers to know our product. But as a(self-proclaimed) poke expert I also wanted to share my favorite poke places. Finally I’ll only be reviewing poke whether the shop is a poke only shop or a restaurant that has poke on their menu, my review is for the poke only. The other things on their menus is not my concern unless it has furikake. Enough chit chat and let’s get to the the reviews. My first pick is Poke Etc. Very few places have authentic Hawaiian style poke. But Poke Etc is one of the few places that gets it. The poke trend is to customize your sauce but real poke is marinated for some time so the tuna can soak up the sauce. This is exactly what Poke Etc does. There are 8 flavors you can choose from(all tuna) and don’t be pressured to make a non refundable choice. They’ll give you samples if you aren’t sure which one to choose. Personally spicy mayo and fresh ginger are my favorite. What makes Poke Etc my go to poke shop is the price at $ 6.95 and the volume. You can add sides like seaweed or imitation crab(extra cost) but the main character is the fish and it takes up more than a third of the plate. Last but not least they put tons of my furikake(booyah)!

Came here after reading the good reviews on Unilocal.Ordered the kama’aina plate: lau lau, kalua park, rice, and poke. I will start off by saying the service was great, friendly and gave suggestions with a smile. That is all you can ask for at a place like this. Well done. The food was just so so. The poke was good. To be honest, I’m not experienced enough in great poke to be able to assess just how good it was so I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say it was great! However, the rest of the dish was really bleh. The lau lau was just average and didn’t taste fresh — I think this is hard to do so I can’t fault them too much. The kalua pork was dry and lacked flavor. Really simple review. Pros: big selection of poke, poke, service, location(easy to park). Cons: other dishes lacked flavor. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back, but I think I know now to head for more common waters. Order the poke and you should be fine!

Eh… Some of the pieces of tuna were chewy and gristly… Bleh. What grossed me out was the lady used the same hand to collect money and to pick up the shredded cabbage to be used as a base for the tuna… Ew! Where are the tongs? Gloves? Needless to say, I didn’t eat the tuna that touched the cabbage.

Enroute to somewhere else, the bf makes a comment that this poke spot is pretty legit. Local, family owned. I skimmed through the reviews and couldn’t decide on which poke to try. Poke is pre-made. You can have a taste to decide. I tried the Spicy mayo, and Limu. The mayo was so good, but it was too heavy for me. Didn’t want to break my diet, so I went with the Basic spicy. I ordered the ½ pound at $ 7 to go and a spam masubi for a snack. The masubi was delish! After we took the poke home, added our own rice, sat on the couch and just enjoyed it. Not your typical novel poke restaurant with all the hype, but quality is definitely there. I like it better than some of the others out there. Would come back for the other Hawaiian dishes in the future.
