The food is the only reason we eat here… but as far as the Service goes… well, it is definately the worst in NW Georgia… Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me… but we continue to visit, cause we like one particular dish… we are no longer fooled by the poor service, we just EXPECT it now… this is sad to say… quite honesgly, there is only one waitress that we feel gives a — about customer service… I guess from now on we will only ask for her. … It’s a shame tgat the rest of the servers stink so bad. we eat here once a week, so we know whst we are talking about… tipping them well only continues th he poor servuce, instead of showing them that we take care of our servers… Enjoy the food, but do not be suprised when you get poor service…

Sometimes I have to go to Cartersville for work and then I have to wear out my Unilocal to try and find places to eat. Despite the bad reviews I decided to try Los Reyes since it was near the hotel and I wasn’t in the mood for anything else popping up. This place has a nice look and on the inside I really liked the lights on the ceiling that looked like stars. The bar area was pretty lively with people drinking. Otherwise it was kind of empty so I was seated pretty quickly. I got chips and salsa immediately and ordered up carnitas and a top shelf margarita. The margarita was ok but lacked liquor honestly — I’m used to a top shelf margarita giving you a nice glowy feeling after you drink it and this one just didn’t. Chips were thicker which I prefer and salsa wasn’t all bad as it had a bit of spice in it. Then the carnitas came out. Oddly it was chunks of pork and had flour tortillas served with it to make tacos. I usually expect some shredded marinated pork when I get carnitas but this was chunks and I shredded it myself. Kind of dry but not tooooo bad. I also prefer corn tortillas but I ate it with the flour ones and it wasn’t bad. Not great and not what I was expecting but not bad. Overall I have definitely had better but it was serviceable. Waitress was attentive and I didn’t have to sit there waiting forever for anything so it was good. Definitely not an awesome Mexican experience but certainly not the absolute worst either. So a middle of the road 3 star for them. However, I have doubts that I would ever come back here either. So there’s that.

Great place for rot-gut and bad service! My boyfriend and I decided to give this place a try and boy did we regret it. The service was so bad, the waitress was rude when we asked for more chips and salsa and she kept acting like we were inconveniencing her. The food was pretty good and we were pretty happy with what we ordered until about 2 hours after eating. We felt very sick with intestinal issues the rest of the night and all day the next day. The frozen margaritas were the only thing that was good in the whole place. SO if you just go and have the margaritas, then you’ll be ok! We will not take a chance with this place EVER again!

Was better with it’s former location-style. Food is meh, sometimes less than that, it’s a little too dark inside for a «vibrant» cuisine, and overall unimpressive.

If you’re out of Atlanta and either traveling north for the day or returning back to the ATL, keep on driving when or if you see the neon red«Los Reyes» restaurant sign and dine-in space fronting Joe Frank Harris Pkwy(Hwy 41) along Cartersville’s main drag. The service here was horrible on Easter Sunday evening, even though the place was nowhere near capacity. We had to ask twice for napkins and remind the«waiter/camarero» three times that we hadn’t received our two iced teas and and two sippy-cup Sprites in 20 minutes. Oh, but here comes the fun part. Two of our three entrée dishes followed the watered-down queso dip appetizer so quickly that the cheese barely had time to cool. And the third entrée — steak and chicken fajitas — took so long to arrive that by the time the skillet hit the table top the queso had converted back to the tasteless white gel paste of its original form. The fajita chicken meat was so blanched in pan oil that when we cut into limp strands resembling starch-swollen fettucini they literally squirted oil out their ends like a pickled banana pepper squished flat with a fork. The a la carte«steak» burrito was little more than three — THREE — soggy slabs of oil-slicked shank wrapped in a freezer-to-frying-pan flour tortilla and then drowned in can-bought enchilada sauce. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if the Georgia Department of Human Resources restaurant inspection division discovered the kitchen staff here was sawing slabs of blackened armpit gristle off fly-infested Santa Gertudis carcasses to pass off as against-the-grain cut skirt steak. Our advice to you about Los Reyes #5: STEERCLEAR.

Cartersville is bloated with Mexican restaurants. While Los Reyes has one of the nicer spots. The draft beer is cheap and they usually have live music. The pros stop there. The food is sub-par compared to other Mexican restaurants and the chips are usually stale. Couple that with consistently poorer service and a bit higher prices than some of their neighbors and it becomes much too easy to go to one of the Mexican restaurants down the street who serve the same food! I don’t recommend this restaurant.

Never get fooled into thinking this is real mexican food, but it’s good, plently, and reasonably-priced. Can’t ask for more.
