The wine was very nice. A great variety was presented during the tasting and Jim was thorough in explaining the process of tasting, but was a bit robotic, and seemed to be more routine, if not put off by our patronage. We had purchased a groupon which included tasting, one bottle, and souvenir glasses, but were told they out of the glasses, despite my girlfriend spotting them on the shelf. It was definitely a small-time winery and we found humor in all the typos and grammatical errors in the menu and wine labels. Take it for what it is and keep your expectations low and you will be ok.

Gentle Giant Ri the Irish wolfhound greets you as you walk in the old farm house. The house is beautiful and authentic. It is a little hard to find, because it is a house and not a giant vineyard. Jim the owner is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He and his wife have been married 55 years and he makes all his own wines with no sulfates. It is all natural no additives. All his wines are dry and amazing. I loved every single one. The sweet wines are the drys that have been sweeten. He explains the process step by step. He teaches you how to taste the wine and test the legs. We learned so much here that we didn’t know before. He has the only Norton Red that I have ever liked. We bought the Sweet Lady in White, the Lady in White, the Sweet Lady in Red(Port style) and the Chalet. All the wines are the same price at $ 27 and there is a $ 10 tasting fee and you taste 8 wines. They are also a B&B and serve lunch. If you are in Carthage or want a day trip I highly recommend you stopping in here.
