Our close, local Chinese carry out. There are dine in tables but not much ambiance. However, they prepare everything to order, have consistent quality, and will substitute large shrimp in your shrimp dish upon request for a very reasonable upcharge. So place a take out order and enjoy a nice Chinese take out meal watching your favorite show. We consistently order bone-in spareribs, shrimp chow me in with large shrimp, sweet and sour chicken, general’s chicken, spring rolls, sesame chicken, any lo mein, egg drop soup, and sugar donuts. 4 stars because it is time to update the dining room.

YUCK. I think thats sums it up, but I was yelling plenty of profanities after trying the food here. So, I wanted to see what was in the neighborhood and did not feel like traveling far for the top ranking chinese food place… Never a Good Idea. I chose China Cary… WORSEIDEA. My order was a Sesame Chicken, white rice, Shrimp Roll and 12 Wontons. What I received was something that taste like it was fried to a crisp a day before, chilled in the fridge and reheated in a microwave upon me calling to order this crap. Now all i can say good about this place was the lady who toook my order was very polite on the phone. But politness does not help my taste buds or my stomach. Word to the Not-So-Wise who are thinking of coming here and getting a delishous meal… Don’t. I won’t be back.

China Cary was one of the very few restaurants I didn’t see open up, have a great chef, build up a large client base, and then fire the good help and bring in the cheap help while the restaurant tanked and off we were to try the next newest Chinese place. I’m sorry to say that lately it seems they have resorted to this. I got the wings. They were okay. The rest of the food(General Tso’s Chicken, beef teriyaki and noodle soup) had a few bites taken out and then thrown away. To add insult to injury, the small woman at the cash register was rude to us both on the phone and at the time of pick-up. I predict they won’t be open much longer and I know I will start patronizing Ginger in the Walmart shopping center on the same street. We haven’t gone wrong there with food or service.

Pricey, but good chicken wings. 98.0 Food Rating. Only had 3 tables to sit to eat in, and they were all dirty. This is definitely a Take-out kind of place. My coworkers always get their wings here on Friday, so I decided to try it out. I def. agree that the wings are really good. They are the big wings, and they’re fried. I was expecting the red wings you get from Chinese places, but this kind of just looked like traditional fried chicken. I was not a fan of the pork fried rice. There was hardly any pork in it, and the seasoning of the rice was just… off. $ 6.30 for 4 chicken wings, and pork fried rice, no drink. Was a little more expensive than I was thinking since the lunch special sign said $ 4.95. So did I get charged $ 1.30 for adding pork to my rice? That’s ridiculous!

Killer hot and sour soup. Sesame chicken is superb. We’ve been living around the corner from this place for over 15 years. It’s the best Chinese food in town.

Under the definition hole in the wall, there would be a picture of China Cary in the dictionary! Located in the same run-down strip plaza as Cozzolinos, China Cary is as dreary on the inside as it is on the outside. Definitely low-rent district but how does their food stand up? The place is small inside, maybe four tables so think TAKE-OUT! I ordered up a special of shrimp and chicken with lo mein for about $ 8. Ten minutes later and voila, a plastic(and heavy container) along with a small egg roll and fortune cookie. Back in the office I crack open the container and there is a nice portion of oily noodles, broccoli, chicken and shrimp. The taste was decent, not overly salty and the chicken was tender and well-cooked. The main drawback to the dish was oil, a bit heavy handed and tough on the stomach. So as much as I thought the food was cooked decently, the portion size was above-average, I’d only give China Cary 2 ½ stars based on one meal. But I’ll be back to see what this place can really do…
