Great Soul Food, great people. The Fried Chicken is incredible, but is no better than the Crab Cakes. The sides are hit and miss, but the meats are there. Chocolate Cake and Apple Pie are outstanding as well. To expand a bit — the Fried Chicken has no coating, but is the skin is fried very crispy the meat is tender and juicy, and the flavor is very nice — priced right at $ 6.95. The Crabcake(more like round balls than cakes) s are encased in a nice crusty, and the flavor is as good as any I’ve tried — there is a hint of Old Bay seasoning, but not overdone — portion is rather small for $ 11.95 The Collards are very nicely done, with stems included along with the leaves, and a touch of sweetness. The Home Fries are also outstanding, with a good crust and great taste. The Corn is canned, and the Fried Okra was frozen, and both are underseasoned, for my tatse anyway. In fact, almost everything is underseaoned, at least to some extent. The Cornbread is not something I’d order — kinda dry. Awfully nice folks here — friendly, and aiming to please. The speed out of the kitchen is a little on the slow side, might be a problem if very busy. Simple place, well lit, with folding chairs and tables — styrofoam plates, and plastic forks & spoons. I’ll come back here, already thinking about — 2 Hot Dogs for $ 2.25, you gotta try that
