My hair stylist, David S, is absolutely the greatest… He makes me look like a million bucks every single time :)

At first I was excited to discover a Gemelli salon close to my new job and was happy with the hair cuts I received. After going there every 5 weeks or so for a year, it became very clear that color and not haircuts is the focus of the stylist there, if not the entire salon. Every single time I went, the stylist tried to upsell me color services. I realize there’s more money in coloring, but I’m happy with what I do myself and never felt a need to buy more. Plus, I tip well. Twenty-​five percent is damn good, if you ask me. so why the upsell?
I had a couple of haircuts I wasn’t thrilled with, but I liked my stylist and I thought we had a good relationship, so I scheduled an appointment six weeks out thinking everyone has off days. Thirty minutes (yes, 30!) before my appointment, she called me to say she was doing a complete recolor on someone and couldn’t see me at all, and then asked if I could come in the next week. I could not.
Now first of all, I made this appointment six weeks out. When she agreed to this «recolor,» she knew she wasn’t going to be able to keep my appointment. Secondly, I was going out of town the next morning and really needed a reshaping of the last cut she had done (which wasn’t very good), which is why I agreed to see someone else. Who did a horrible job! Just horrible. And yes, she also tried to sell me color.
At this point you might be wondering if I actually needed color but maybe don’t know it. For my last haircut, I went to a salon that has been voted Best in the Triangle for several years running. One of the first things the owner of the shop said was, «This color really works for you.» Not kidding! She knew nothing of my experience at Gemelli’s. She did say that the cut I had was consistent, but cut at the wrong angle. I didn’t need her to tell me that, though. My hair was so flat you could have ironed a shirt on it. So Gemelli’s, you’re history.

I love this salon. Meagan has been my stylist for almost a year now, and she always does a wonderful job in cutting and styling my hair. She listens to what I want done and works with me so that I always end up with a flattering and stylish haircut that suits my personality. The professionalism of the staff every time I am there impresses me, as does the inviting atmosphere — it is trendy but laid back. I also find the prices to be very reasonable considering the amount of skill that these stylists have. I am very happy to have found this salon.
