I needed a pair of pants hemmed and was impressed with the quality of work. The seamstress is very friendly and she only charged $ 8.50. Turnaround time of one week seemed a bit long for a simple hemming but it wasn’t urgent so this is a minor gripe. The only other complaint is cash only.

I’ve been going to JD Tailors for a few years now — really I can’t say enough about this shop. The seamstress is so incredibly nice and her prices are great — so great that I bring things for my sister in VA to get altered. Generally I’m not under any time constraint so I’ll pick up my alterations after 5 days but she has practically remade a dress for me in one day. She tailors each item to fit my body the best and sews them so perfectly that I don’t bother to try it on when I pick it up — I know it will fit perfectly. I’m always amazed how she can identify some small change that makes a huge difference in my appearance. She is flexible with your time needs too. She’s fixed something for me the same day; she has stayed at her store late as I raced to pick up a dress — but I suppose being a frequent customer for 3+ years allows me a few extra perks. She can knock out something as simple as hemming or as complicated as making a dress from scratch… really she does it all!
This unassuming shop is tucked away in Cross Roads next to the Toys R Us and Party City but its right off the highway and easy to get in and out. Take that pile of clothes you been meaning to get fixed to JD Tailors — you will walk out with perfectly fitting clothes at a reasonable price.
