Pupsi was so great it inspired me to write my first Unilocal review. Overall, the place is wonderful and they live up to their slogan of putting dogs first. Most boarding places scare my partner and I since we have a large dog and these places tend to stick them into very small places. However, Pupsi understands and accommodates the needs of all dogs and sizes.
Danielle was an amazing groomer and took us for a tour around the place even without our asking. Any place that volunteers a look-​around gets an extra star by me. Danielle even took the time to look up our dog’s breed since she’s a rare shepherd dog, and determine what is best for her. When our pup came out, she was stunning and looked like she had had the day of her life.
There are few businesses that impress me this much, and Pupsi is one of them. I like to do my research on places, especially when it comes to care for our four-​legged daughter. Family-​owned places are generally far better, but Pupsi takes the cake. We drive all the way from Chapel Hill, but it’s a drive worth making to know your loved one is safe, happy, and in the best of hands.

Pupsi is about 40 minutes from where we live and is worth the drive! Our two mini schnauzers spent a week here for support on basic training and have been back for a weekend. The guys come back exhausted and sleep for a day, they love it. We have worked a lot with Trace who is wonderful and the guys love him. He has been immeasurably patient with me and my schedule! The staff are very professional and appear to have strong communication between them in their intake and checkout processes. Everything is smooth sailing!

Great family business. Owners are great and treat dogs awesome. My pups always come home tired!
I have used them for grooming as well and they offer great add-​on like bail trims and other services.
They take all the precautions and make it fun for our pets including kiddie pools, shaded areas/​covered areas for bad weather or heat.

Don’t let the 1-​star reviews fool you — one of them is written by a person who didn’t even end up using Pupsi’s services! If you’re a low-​maintenance dog owner like me, Pupsi is a great option for boarding.
I have taken our 3-​year-​old rat terrier to Pupsi twice in the past month while we were out of town for weekend trips. Prices are reasonable compared to other boarders in the area, and the staff who handle the dogs are very friendly. Pickup and dropoff times are convenient (7:30−9:30 am or 4 – 6 pm).
I had never boarded my dog before, so I was a bit apprehensive at first, but Pupsi seems to do a great job. Both times our pup came back happy and very worn out from playing. To address the other 1-​star reviewer: my dog’s paws were a little raw/​sunburned when we picked him up, as well, but what do you expect when your dog is playing outside during the summer?!
I trust Pupsi with our animals and will definitely use them for boarding in the future!

Fantastic daycare/​boarding!
We’ve been taking our active pup for daycare for a couple of years now. Trace, Mary, and the whole staff are great.
I highly recommend them for any size and any age dog.

I took my puppy there for obedience training. It was over priced and not really the best. I also boarded him there twice. The first time he came home with raw paws from the heat of the asphalt that they run around on and the second time he came back limping. They took no ownership — said that’s just what happens when they play. I have had him groomed there twice. The groomers are good except the first time they did not do his ears yet when I called back Mary (owner) argued with me that they had until i sent her a photo of them. clearly they were not done. The main reason I will not be going back is because of Mary’s attitude. She is completely rude and acts like she is doing everyone a favor. Even though the groomers are good I will go somewhere else and pay more. I will not recommend them or give them any more $$$.

I called in to make a reservation for Xmas Eve & Xmas day. The guy told me there was a 3 day minimum to board my dog. I considered paying the extra day bc everywhere else is booked but after reading the bad reviews I will not be boarding my pet here. Also, it Seems they know ppl are desperate now bc of the holiday & using this to make more money! This is not the type of person I want looking after my dog!!!

I have only used the grooming at Pupsi, so this review is for the grooming only. I have taken my biggest dog there several times now and each time has been great. I have a retriever/​lab mix that is about 65 pounds. He’s got longish hair but I get him shaved. They do a great job shaving and bathing him. They also trim his nails. They always do the lion cut like I ask and leave some on his tail and around his head. They always cut him super short like I ask. It’s easy to make an appt. and the appt. is a one day thing, you drop off in morning and pick up in the afternoon so it makes it really easy for those of us that work full time. My dog is old (12 ½) and they treat him with care.

I took my collie here to be groomed and was very satisfied with the service. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Pupsi is the greatest place to take your dog. The people that work there are good people! Love Pupsi!

Pupsi is awesome! I have been taking my dog to Pupsi 2 – 3 days per week for about two years for doggie day care. They remembered my name and my dogs name after our first visit and continue to be super friendly. The dogs get to play outside all day long (they have pools for them in the hot summer) and the small breeds are kept separate from the larger ones so that everyone stays safe. My dog has never come home with ticks /​fleas /​illnesses /​injuries afterward, but she does come home exhausted (in the good way). The rates are very reasonable compared to similar services in the area. Give them a try!

We’ve been taking our 7 year old Boxer to Pupsi for 5 years, and our 4 year old Brittany since we adopted her a few years ago. Both dogs start going crazy with excitement as soon as I pull into the parking lot to drop them off, and practically drag me inside.
The staff is very friendly and they get to know you and your dogs by name. Even after 6 months without a stay, when I call and mention my dogs’ names, they know exactly who we are.
Prior to Pupsi, everywhere else we boarded our dogs resulted in Urinary Tract Infections, fleas, weight loss, and a very unhappy dog. Pupsi has been a lifesaver.

We looked into this establishment for training for our 1-​yr-​old dog who was having some issues with obedience, dominance, and excessive barking. They specialize in large breeds and I think do an extremely good job with those types of dogs. The trainer has extensive experience training K-​9s for the police. Ultimately, however, we decided against using Pupsi to train our dog because he is a very small breed and we didn’t feel Pupsi’s methods would be the most effective for him. The trainer explained up front that this might be the case and invited us to come for an evaluation session. We decided to save the money and apply it with another trainer that works more with small dogs. But I do think that Pupsi would have been a very effective, and relatively affordable solution if we had a large breed.
