Rex/UNC Family Practice of Panther Creek

I gave it a try for the heck of it. Still the problem I went for is not cleared and already REX/​UNC billed me about $ 600 for urgent care and clinic together !!!
on top they asked for re-​check appointment in 2 weeks …LOL
I have seen better doctors. you can avoid this clinic for sure.

My family of 3 (husband, 17 mo toddler, and myself) have been coming here for a couple years now. Dr. Gupta has been very helpful and I never feel rushed or uncomfortable. The wait times are never more than a few mins and the rest of the staff are also pretty friendly. Gupta is good with my toddler, interacts with her in a goofy way to make her comfortable with him. Also, when needed, he has put me in touch with specialists. The doc that replaced O’Meara seems nice as well but I’ve only had one appointment with her.

I found my experience with Dr. O’Meara to be great, but the woman at the front desk needs a refresher course in customer service. Based on her attitude, I will not be back.

Love Dr. Gupta — very attentive and listened to me – I knew he was listening because he asked questions and verified that he understood what I was saying. The older woman on the front desk was very confused, distracted and seemed like she wanted to be anywhere but where she was. If you go by the ones in the front reception area you will turn and run away — but don’t. The nurse was very good also. If this practice is going to work then I will say that some changes need to be made to the front office staff. She misplaced paperwork that I gave her, told me my appointment was a day earlier than it was — and I know I would not have made an appointment on the day she told me I missed because I had a procedure done that would have made me unable to drive to this office as required. With the fine gentleman that Dr. Gupta is and I’m sure Dr. O’Meara is just as professional (although I haven’t seen her yet) I’m disappointed in the upfront staff they chose to represent their practice. Change out the older, confused, disorganized woman and I think you will have a TOP notch office. Also please let her know that I don’t really care about her personal issues with health insurance for her family — that is way TMI and should stay private — if she can say this about her own personal issues then is she disregarding HIPPA information for the patients? Just saying!

I’d never been here before but my wife had told me she really didn’t care for the office, said that the front desk gal was remarkably rude. It’s convenient so I decided to try for myself and was pleased with everything, including the gals up front, but especially my doctor, Dr. Gupta, a fine gent indeed, really like his personality.
Well, I returned yesterday needing something filled out for our insurance and the minute I walked in the door, I could tell just by the look on her face that the gal behind the counter was the very one my wife had told me about. From the scowl on her face, to the way she interacted with me, not a pleasant bone in the lady’s body, at least not at that particular moment. In anticipation of writing this very review I asked her name, Cindy she told me. Ah, yes, the pen is indeed mightier than the sword. I write gobs and gobs of reviews, 99% of them positive, and I do hate it but every once in a while, the occasion calls for otherwise.
Go for the doctor, to be sure, you’ll be glad you did, but they need a new office gal in my book.

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Gupta for about two years. He listens carefully, is very thorough, and is genuinely interested in helping us stay healthy. Just to give an example, when my husband needed a specialist to treat a very rare tumor and we were struggling to decide where to have it removed, Dr. Gupta made personal phone calls to help us find the surgeon with the most experience and skill for the procedure. Dr. Gupta is a great find, and I highly recommend him to anyone. As a bonus, his nurses are able to find my tiny veins, his front desk is able to get us an appointment with short notice if we ever need it, and Jennifer who is in charge of referral paperwork is tremendously helpful and efficient.
