SpiceCubed Catering

David and his crew did an event for Cary Arthur Murray at St. Michael’s Parrish Center. The event was a success. The food and service was outstanding. From initial contact to end of event, the process was easy and David was very easy to work with. Bravo!

This review is only for their online website, not their catering service. I bought empty spice containers and magnets that weighed less than 2 lbs, and expected to be charged $ 5 for shipping as stated on their help page. Instead I was charged a whopping $ 21 for USPS priority mail (not even freaking UPS!), but I needed them fast and it was New Year’s Eve, so I purchased them anyway.
Fast forward, I sent an email to their sales team to see if this had been a mistake. No response, and when I go back to check the website, they’ve taken down the part of their help page that states shipping prices. So clearly, they saw my email. Didn’t bother to apologize for the false information, didn’t offer any sort of refund, didn’t even bother to acknowledge they had MADE a mistake. I don’t know about their catering services, but if this is the kind of business practices they condone, I would stay far, far away.

Had our wedding reception at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and SpiceCubed does the in-​house catering. David and his staff did a fantastic job… we heard the food was all excellent (though unfortunately we didn’t have time to eat any), they did a great job of decorating everything (even putting out some extras that we hadn’t planned or asked for), and they handled all the cleanup! Wonderful!
SpiceCubed (and David Leach, the owner) must have quite a reputation, because when people were asking about our wedding plans, we had numerous people say «Wow! You’re working with David? He’ll do great work for you. You are in good hands.» One of the people giving David the glowing review was actually in the catering business himself, which made us feel very comfortable.
Overall, service was great, price was reasonable (cheaper than most of what we looked into), and we would totally do business again.
The only reason this review is for 4 stars and not 5 is that David is a very busy guy and we had a lot of trouble getting up with him on several occasions. If you make an appointment (say, schedule a time for a phone call or to meet him at his office), he’s very faithful to keep that time. We just found it hard to get an impromptu response to a quick email or phone call.
