All of the chicken dishes were tough and gritty, the lo mein sucked, and even the egg rolls weren’t great. They did have good white rice, but then again, that’s pretty hard to mess up. My fiancé did LOVE the ice cream…

I have been to several chinese buffet from raleigh to smithfield to garner and i can say that super asian buffet has the most array of dishes you can choose from. Great! The problem is most of the hot food is cold, and even if it is warm you can tell it has been sitting down for hours. The supposedly crunchy custard crust for example is hard and you can hardly chew it. Lol. Some chinese buffet doesn’t have a lot of dishes in their pile but at least it is hot and fresh, lunch or dinner time. Plus big plus the chinese local guy who works at the sautee station has NO public relations and does not know how to be courteous the least. Since dude you are working here in the US and not in China I supposed you should start picking up your manners and Not being Rude. Otherwise he should be fired! I am surprised that they have been serving cary apparently for 21 yrs and they have survived! This needs a whole renovation! P. s. To the Owner You can renovate your interior just with fresh clean brighter paint and will make your interior happy as opposed to dingy!

This came recommended by a neighbor, so we were disappointed. We went for a Saturday lunch. The food was barely warm. There was a lot of choice, but what we tried was not very flavorful. The pros are that there is easily something for everybody to eat. It also looked reasonably clean even if I found that the silverware I was given was not properly clean. The cons are that there is no rhyme or reason on how the food stations are set. One can find egg drop soup among the desserts, or baked zucchini with cheese next to the apple pie. Also, there is a station which was unmanned when we went by that had raw meat, raw eggs and other raw ingredients for someone to cook. My child likes boiled eggs so my husband put two eggs on her plate, not realizing that they were raw. He later discovered that they were raw. That can’t be hygienic and all the raw ingredients, especially the meats and the eggs should be put beyond the reach of the patrons to avoid contamination. Also, in that station, raw meat and eggs are placed in containers next to raw vegetables. They should be separated more. One may think to use the raw veggies for a salad which is probably unhealthy. We will not be going again.

Not bad, food seemed pretty fresh. The waitresses refill without asking, which is good.

Let’s start with the positive points so you can come here for the right reasons. Super Asian Buffet is SUPERCHEAP. All you can eat for $ 8.99 for adults, $ 5.99 for kids(lunchtime). And it’s not like it’s all rice, noodles, and fillers. It’s a lot of different types of meats. But it is suspiciously cheap. Call me a romantic, but my goal was to not get food poisoning from eatings cut-rate meat. So come here if you love heavy savory foods and love a great bargain. Look, the name is Super Asian Buffet, so this ain’t 5-star white-table cloth Chinese dining. This is going to cater to a subset of heavy eaters who love a bargain. There are approximately 8 food stations, one that focuses on seafood/veggies, one that is primarily pan-Chinese-American style meats, one dessert, one congee station, one sushi station, one Southern comfort food station, and one salad/fruit station — plus a few more nooks that serve braised foods. Most of the food is so-so, on par with something you might get from Panda Express. Their fried green beans were actually really good, their raw tuna & salmon sushi was not half bad. But many dishes were below average — far too oily, salty, sweet. And some dishes came loaded with MSG. I am not squeamish, so I ate chicken feet here. That too was below average. Service was prompt for refilling water and taking away dirty dishes. But cleanliness was less than amazing and the décor is less than charming. Just know what you’re getting yourself into. If you’re short of cash and have a very heavy appetite, maybe this is for you. It is what it is, so don’t expect more. Best Chinese food in the area is still C&T Wok in Morrisville.

I love this place. It is one of my favorite places to eat you can choose the hibachi and buffet section, and I like the staff. They seem to remember you or maybe it is because I go there too often. I just have one recommendation: increasse water pressure in the bathroom is not strong enough, and I like to eat in a place where the bathrooms are always are clean and have good flushing power.

Options are great but the food itself are not very fresh in d buffet section. The hibachi section on the other hand was good. I recommend that to anybody that decides to eat here. Almost forgot to mention my waitress was really nice and attentive!

Got the whole family sick… never again. Either everyone was on the toilet or hugging it that night. Don’t recommend to anyone.

This is my fist time leaving a less than good review. The food here is ok, but the cleanliness is terrible. I have even asked them to clean something and was refused. The price is right though for a large amount amount of food.

I almost didn’t go to this place because of the negative reviews here on Unilocal… but have to say I was very pleased! The service was«meh» but it’s buffet!!! We didn’t expect super service! The food choices were extensive and even a bit fun with the frogs legs and pigs feet that the kids got a fun«kick» out of… if nothing else. My mother in law was disappointed that there was no egg foo young, but it certainly wasnt lacking for anything else. Food tasted good and overall my experience was a decent one!

This place is big. They have a large seating area and a huge variety of food. If I’m in one of those moods to eat twice my body weight, cause you know it just happens and you have to let yourself go every once in a while, this is the place to go. The restaurant is run by a really nice Fujianese family so if there are any special seafood items out, I’d definitely take advantage of that! Overall my experiences there have been great. it’s a good place to go to with a big party. The large variety should be able to satisfy everybody!

A friend suggested I come here. Very infrequently do I give a two-star review, but this one earned it. As it’s name makes clear, it’s a giant buffet style restaurant. None of the food I got from the buffet table(tried the vegetables, white noodles, chicken and broccoli, and the tofu) was hot, and a lot of it lacked flavor. The noodles were actually ok. I give them props for having a wide selection(including a crab legs buffet — in the back, you can find frog legs and chicken feet if you want them), but nothing I got was particularly good, especially for the price. The ladies up front were very nice though, and the interior was ok. If the quilty of the food could be brought up a few notches, it’d be a kicking restaurant, but we’ll see if that happens. I don’t plan to come back to Super Asian Buffet.

Don’t waste your time and money coming here. Was very disappointed in this place. Went for dinner was here around 6 pm and half the food looked like it was sitting out since lunch! Most of the food was just warm at best! When they did bring out fresh food it was barely enough for 2 or 3 people. They brought out fresh spare ribs while I was standing there, they only brought out 4 or 5 ribs. Really??? Service was good my drink was never empty and the place was very clean

We’ve been here a couple of times, each just as mediocre as the last. One cannot talk about Super Asian without mentioning the other rivaling Chinese buffet just down the street, Hibachi China Buffet. Hibachi, being the more frequented establishment for all-you-can-eat Chinese goodness, is understandably always crowded. Therefore, sometimes when we don’t want to have to wait for a table, we come here instead. It’s not a bad substitution for Hibachi being $ 1 cheaper but ultimately just not as good as. The Pros: They are less busy than Hibachi so there is never a wait for a table, which is good for those of us whose stomachs have a mind of their own and don’t understand the quiet game. Super Asian also has seaweed salad on their sushi bar, something I absolutely love and can probably eat my own weight in. Their jalapeño chicken is also better than the aforementioned other buffet because the chicken is pan fried instead of deep fried, making it moist and flavorful instead of dry. The crawfish here are poached with herbs and peppers, giving them a nice spice and season, unlike the basic poach of most Chinese buffets. Another pro of this place, not important but convenient to have, is the fact that they have internet the patrons can use, the password for which is so readily posted by the register. The Cons: My biggest complaint and main reason for the three star rating is their quickness in refilling dishes. I can understand not refilling dishes low on food towards the end of the night because the amount of patronage they receive each night gives them some leeway and I can understand the desire not to waste food but on our most recent trip here, there were a number of empty dishes under the hot bar that remained empty the whole time we were there, which was a good two and a half hours before closing time. This also extends to their sushi bar, where the selection was already pretty sparse to begin with. Overall, it was an average experience, nothing outstanding, nothing traumatizing.

This place is no better or worse than any other«Chinese» buffet I’ve ever been to, anywhere, except for 2 things, both good. 1. The fried pork dumplings are great, much better than any I’ve had in town, including places that claim to specialize in dumplings. 2. Soup. They generally have a selection of soup, including hot and sour which is pretty good and congee… I go back every few weeks just for these 2 things… Everything else is just meh.

Was a frequent customer here for a long time, however the quality has seriously declined. The following is why I will never be back: The first plate I picked up had food on the bottom of it, stuff happens… but then… I witnessed a cook pick up a knife off the floor and return it to the counter… I gave him the benefit of the doubt that it would be taken care of… however… The final straw was when I found a bug in the made to order Phở. The manager was sort of dismissive even though I informed him the incident caused my wife to begin dry heaving and had to excuse herself. When presented with the check, I politely informed him I would not be paying. The real kicker was the bug ordeal happened toward the end of our meal so it’s hard to tell if we had eaten any other contaminated food… Guess I’ll know after the incubation period.

Overall, I wasn’t thrilled with much here. The positives are that it is bright and clean and offers a pretty diverse menu. However, the offerings are somewhat bland and just OK. The staff is also just OK. No glaring complaints, but nothing stand-out either. I was hoping for more dim sum options, and was a little disappointed in what was there. The noodle bar was decent, but again, not outstanding. The sushi looked like sad, gas station versions of real sushi. It really seemed like a lot of the stuff came straight from the frozen section of the market next door and was sitting out way too long. Given the fact that we were one of four tables full and there was ample staff walking around, I would have liked more attentive service, but again, it wasn’t horrible. I don’t know that we would make the drive out here again without trying other options first.

You know, I’m not too picky about a Chinese buffet restaurant. I’m expecting that the meat isn’t going to be the parts that I normally eat, and that most of the food isn’t really Chinese, and even that they won’t have my favorite dishes(no lemon chicken, no kung pao chicken, etc). The sushi selection was actually pretty nice, good range and good presentation. Not awesomely tasty, but again, I’m not expecting much. This buffet restaurant has a specialty of seafood. Unfortunately, this made everything near the seafood smell very very strongly of fishy shrimpy juices. A few of my chicken dishes even had a weird seafood taste(I didn’t eat any seafood). I guess that could be fine if you’re really into Chinese buffet seafood. What’s really not fine is cold food on the buffet that should be hot(or at least, heat lamp warm). Also, bits of bone in the pork dumplings. But the thing that made me stop eating entirely was the cockroach sampling the dessert buffet. Call me old fashioned, but I lose my appetite very quickly when I see a live cockroach on the buffet. Don’t think we’ll be coming back.

My husband and I have been missing the gluttonous joy of Chinese buffets since China Town closed down last year. I know a couple new ones had opened up in the last year too, but Chinese buffets can be such a hit-or-miss, I was pretty cautious… Super Asian Buffet filled in the spot that Ichibar vacated so I drive by it enough, and decided to finally give it a shot. The sanitation scores aren’t so bad(only 96) so I probably was not going to end up with food poisoning, which is always a bonus! First thing I noticed when I went in was they totally changed the décor from Ichibar. They got rid of the waterfall and the boat, and made it just a really big open space. The seating is pretty nice for a buffet, not just the typical patio furniture you might see at other places. We got seated right away and ordered drinks. They didn’t give us a drink menu, and when we asked, the waitress listed off just Coke products and sweet tea. I found out later they do also serve beer and wine. Going up to the buffet was like a magical wonderland of food. I wanted to try everything, but it just wasn’t humanly possible. I started off with the soup, trying very tiny amounts of each. The fish ball soup was interesting but not to my taste. The eggdrop was pretty typical. The wonton soup was stuffed with what I thought was pork. The hot and sour was definitely the best, simply phenomenal. Then I moved on to the appetizers. I tried an egg roll, spring roll, cheese wonton, beef spare rib, chicken teriyaki on a stick, and some sweet and sour chicken(because that goes with the sweet and sour sauce I was using for dipping anyway). Nothing was particular spectacular, but I did like the variety well enough. Then I tried out some of the cold entrees, like the octopus salad and the crab salad. I didn’t quite have the guts to try the chicken feet. Again, not the best, but I had to try at least once. The hot entrees just went on and on and on. There were all kinds of seafood, dim sum, sushi, hibachi, and lots of the Americanized Chinese dishes like General Tso’s, sesame chicken, honey chicken, etc. I loved the extra spiciness they put in some of the sauces, and I wish I would have had a bigger stomach to try it all. I didn’t get a chance to even try the hibachi or sushi because there was just so much there. Lastly I finished off with a plate of various desserts. I tried a small strawberry cakey thing that was pretty good, some fantastic fresh fruit, sweet rice and a Napolean that was too much pastry and not enough puddingy stuff. They had a lot of other pastries, Chinese donuts, and real ice cream(from tubs, not from a soft serve machine!) but I was going to die if I ate another bite. I couldn’t even eat my fortune cookie. They do offer some American food too, like pizza, garlic bread, and chicken nuggets. So if you’ve got picky kids, they just might like the place too. If you’ve got a particular entrée you want, and want it done 100% right, you may want to try one of the better Chinese restaurants in the area like 35, Super Wok, or Taipei 101. But if you want to gorge yourself on Americanized Chinese until you nearly burst, and then sleep the rest of the afternoon on a fat and sugar high, then Super Asian Buffet will certainly fulfill that need.
