This rest area is the last one you encounter along I-94 before traveling through Macomb County and further into and around Detroit. I have been visiting this rest area for decades and it has changed little. The layout of the grounds is an older design, with the building sharing the cookie-cutter architecture of years gone by. There are picnic tables and free-standing barbeque grills available throughout the grassy lawn areas. The grounds are well maintained. The main building houses the rest room facilities, and there is a snack and refreshment out-building close by. Plenty of parking is available on the car side of the building, and during the day, truck parking is usually plentiful. But the truck and trailer/RV side can get crowded, especially at night when truckers need to take a mandatory 10 hour break. Oftentimes, night time truck parking can go to 120% capacity and more.
