Mehhhhh is the only word that comes to mind when thinking of the Country Club at Deer Run. I think Albert K. was spot on in his review of this course that has now experienced a double fall for grace. With an aging group of members and management group not interested in investing greens fees into the course, the Country Club at Deer appears to have little to no hope of returning to its pristine conditions of many years ago. Growing up this course was great, then became a cow pasture. The course was revived in 2003 by the owner of Del-Air and became one of the nicest courses in the area. Twelve years later, this course has unfortunately returned to its cow pasture days. The greens, while decent, do not make up for the remainder of the course. You will find extremely tight fairways, if they are not dead, patchy rough, unmanicured hazards(rocks and weeds overgrowing into the bunkers, unkempt waterways, ect.) and beat up tee boxes. While the course has reasonable rates these days($ 25 – 35), there are just too many better options in that price range that it is not worth giving money to this management group that is clearly just being pocketed and not put back into the course itself. It is truly sad to see how low this course has come. It’s only a matter of time before it becomes a public park, or god forbid, more town homes for the owners to profit off of. The club house itself is a nice structure, which includes a small proshop, decently sized dining area, bar, and outdoor patio. I have not dined here in many years, so I can not comment on the staff or the pricing of the food/drinks. There is also a large pool outside which is nice on hot summer days, but I believe it can only be accessed by members.

dont come here. greens and fairways were in poor condition, and even worse than that their employees are RUDE. range balls are cracked and old. SO many other clubs at comparable prices make it stupid for anyone to play here. BEWARE

For the money it’s a great course. As long as you don’t get stuck behind beginners, which can happen, it’s quick. Greens are fast and a bit rough but the fairways are forgiving! Cheap drinks for a course too! Which is a big positive!

I like the golf course at Deer Run Country Club. Whenever we’ve played, the course has moved fairly quickly. Often, we’ve been paired with other players during our game which makes it a little more fun. I’m told this is an easier course than Twin Rivers because its shorter but I find it plenty challenging. The Pro Staff are very helpful about getting you a tee time and getting you paid up and into a cart and out on the course. The course is pretty well maintained and has a good driving range. Bathrooms are available midway on the front nine and an outhouse I usually miss on the back nine. Water often comes into play if not careful. They also have several difficult doglegs. I like the food at the restaurant – its golf course food, burgers, salads but its always fresh, quickly served and a good for the money buy. The wait staff are really friendly and know to get my husband his beer fast.

Another decent track that used to be much nicer. The Golf Group manages this course along with Casselberry, Twin Rivers, Wekiva, Rock Springs Ridge, Mount Dora, and Monarch @ Royal Highlands. The course has a fun layout and it’s challenging, even though it’s fairly short(only 6600 yards from the tips). They have a decent little golf shop and a small aqua range where you can warm up or practice. We played a couple of months ago and had a good time, but it’s not really anything that you should go out of your way to try. For locals, they have some good deals, and during the summer, it’s very affordable to play.
