We made a last minute reservation and when we arrived were seated quickly near the fireplace — very nice on a chilly winter night. The waiter was attentive, fast and helpful without being pushy. We ordered two glasses of wine and the Italian fries with Gorgonzola dipping sauce as an appetizer. It’s listed in the menu as a side dish, but it’s definitely to share — could have served four! Our entrees were the scallops on sweet corn polenta, ravioli and crispy prosciutto and the eggplant rollotini. Both were excellent. The scallop dish was very rich and filling and the eggplant had a nice twist on traditional pasta. If I could have changed anything, perhaps a little less melted cheese on the eggplant. A lighter touch on the cheese or a drizzle of cream sauce over the red. Overall, we very much enjoyed our dinner — romantic, excellent food, good service. Thank you, Siena, for a lovely evening!

Scott was one of the best waiters we have had serve us in a long time. We were wedding dress shopping next door and he helped make the decision so much better! Along with offering a bottle of red wine and options on the menu that sounded incredible we had one heck of an experience! He made us feel like we were already friends and he was happy to have served us. The salad I got was HUGE with spinach with pistachio crusted goat cheese and Italian meats … Holy cow incredible! The wine was pricey but he helped us pick a great bottle! ! I can’t wait to go back for her dress fitting and eat there again!

I have to downgrade my earlier review. Service is not great anymore. Food is overpriced: l. The only thing that remains the same is the management sucks. They will literally KICK you OUT if you linger too long. The muscles are bomb though. One of only a few places we can sit outside on a nice summer evening. It’s one of the only games I town that isn’t a chain so we keep going.

We used to go to Siena almost weekly. I’d say some time in early summer; they switched chefs. Since that time– we’ve been back 3 times and each time was a worse experience. But sadly we said that last night was our last visit to Siena. The food is no where near the quality it used to be. Even the beginning of meal bread basket is sub par. Last night we ordered 4 meals and an appetizer. How 3 of the meals(all completely different) and appetizer tasted nearly identical is beyond me. 2 of the meals were just plain gross and only had a couple of bites from each. Even the menu selections are not as quality as they used to be. We used to love bringing friends and out of town guests here and brag about what a gem this was. But you honestly could get better food at Olive Garden At this point. So disappointed that such an awesome place has went so downhill

Went to Siena on Saturday as a party of six for happy hour. I love that you can do happy hour anywhere in the restaurant. Waiter Shawn and manager Brian took excellent care of us. They have a Chianti on the menu from Castello di Meleto — excellent match with everything we tried. The pizza of the day with prosciutto and figs was wonderful, the Asian ribs were so good, bruschetta and the Panko fried cauliflower were crowd pleasers. My sister tried a pear cocktail, by the way, and loved it — keep your eyes open for that. We continued on for dinner as well. Their spaghetti and meatball entrée is a great mark of good food for an Italian restaurant. I love the creative choices on the menu and the traditional selections as well. This is our favorite place in Castle Rock as «regulars.»

Great food. Terrible service. We stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. It was really slow and there were several teenagers standing around. Our waiter didn’t tell us the special or offer bread(meanwhile I watched the table next to us get offered both). He then brought my husband’s salad and my soup at the same time as our meal. He also never refilled our drinks once. I had to flag him down and ask. By the time the check came I was so annoyed(mostly because I saw him sitting in the back talking to other teenagers while we waited on refills). Will NOT be going back. Especially given the prices. Don’t hire teenagers or at least train them!

This isn’t the first time we have been to sienna, but it will definitely be the last! We walked in and it already seemed as though we were inconveniencing the short haired blonde at the hostess stand when we asked for a booth for 2. She threw down her marker and chart she was drawing on and brought us to a high top table in the bar(even though we asked for a booth). Whenever, we ignored that and hoped for the best. Our server finally greeted us after sitting for about 10 minutes(mind you, this was around 2:45pm the day before Christmas and the restaurant was nearly empty). Anyway, we ordered our(overpriced) $ 10 cocktails, I asked for no sprite in mine and my guest asked for an Italian margarita). All of the servers were just goofing around, throwing glasses behind the bar, the bar itself was full of dirty dishes and debris from the day, nobody was cleaning it up, the owner stood at the end of the bar talking to someone who I THINK was their accountant or something because they were just going over bank statements they kept saying, meanwhile we were waiting for our drinks and becoming more irritated by the minute. So our drinks came about 15 minutes later, mine had carrot chunks floating in it(dirty glass) and my guests margarita tasted like toilet water. Our server had already walked away and since she forgot my soup I ordered, I couldn’t even tell her that our drinks were bad until she came back about 10 minutes later. We told her, then she put my drink on the bar and then greeted and tended to her other tables. Once she finally re made the drink 10 minutes later, she also forgot I didn’t want sprite in it and then made it wrong, again. By the time the food came out, it was cold, tasteless and way overpriced for what you get(now that they skimped out on the beef on my sandwich and the calamari was the rubber band texture that everyone hates). Restaurants have good days and bad, I get it. But this restaurant seems to be slipping more and more and the owner is the«cliché» restaurant owner who just wants people to see him own his restaurant, but not pitch in and actually RUNIT! His servers are all screwing off, tables are seemingly upset(and quite vocal about it) and he can care less to do anything about it. The best part was when he took a napkin to the bar top and just wiped everything onto the floor and just left it there. Bottom line, the place is overpriced, pretentious and in need of new ownership. You cannot charge the prices you do and not back it up with the level of service that people expect. He is simply banking on the fact that competition for fine dining in castle rock is scarce. Get a clue! Wake up! People expect more.

We came here for lunch recently for a work function. I wasn’t terribly impressed with the service — they were slow bringing refills a few times, and when the meals came out they had them completely wrong about who got what(and there was only 5 of us). We started off with calamari and bruschetta, both of which were okay. Maybe it was just the lunch menu, but I thought it was weird there only 2 italian items on the menu — spaghetti and linguini. I got the spaghetti and meatball, with the extra sausages. It was fine, I honestly thought the sauce was lacking in flavor, but it wasn’t bad or anything. The only thing that wowed me was the sausages themselves. They were quite good. I’ll probably come back again at some point for dinner. Maybe it’s a completely different experience at dinner time.

This was a nice surprise. Enjoyed a meal here recently and they helped me stay low carb by substituting sauteed spinach for the pasta on my entrée. The place is very warm and comfortable feeling and the Italian cuisine was delicious. I always judge a marinara by what I make at home and this was better. They have a good variety of vegetarian entrees in addition to meat based dishes. Their courtyard patio looked great, but it was a bit chilly when we went so we enjoyed our meals indoors. Definitely will be coming back

This place is the epitome of Castle Rock restaurants. Beautiful location, outdoor seating, indoor design and décor, with boring food. There is one redeeming item(s) they have, which is their pizza. Honestly, their pizza is really good and paired with a good full bodied red wine will make your day. Everything else on the menu can be avoided. Their pizza is the only reason I’m not marking it at the lowest rating. Their mixed or premium drinks are made fairly well, but not to the finesse to justify their cost. If they focused on their pizza, expanded the selections, and deleted everything else on the menu minus the salads, I believe it would be more enjoyable for everyone and more profitable.

I have been to Siena many times, as this is the place we used to always go when in Castle Rock for horse shows. I used to really love this place, and I like the ambiance, but over time it has become pretentious, and truly, the food is good, but not excellent. The past several times, we were greeted by snotty hostesses… look, I come from around Beverly Hills, so REALLY, it’s not all that. As Gerry Z said«The only negative would be the attitude of the two pretty young hostesses. I would suspect that it took two of them to man the reception desk so that their combined IQ could make it into triple digits», only, in my opinion, the hostesses are not the only negative any more, as over time, the service has gone«downhill». The wait staff may or may not make it to your table in a timely manner. There are not a lot of choices in Castle Rock. I now prefer Union Bistro over Siena. Their food is very good and the service attentive.

Great drinks and food! Lovely atmosphere… The reception girls are not always the friendliest and they may seem irritated if you don’t have reservations… But it’s worth a visit!

When my best friend comes into town from Thornton we always go here. The breakfast selection is hands down the best. I will say on a saturday morning you will be seated right away but that they are busy so you may have a bit of await for your food, but its so worth it. I have this obsession with wanting my food served to me piping hot and they never disappoint.

Very nice, semi-formal atmosphere. We stopped through here on our way through Colorado. Food was very good. My husband and I had two different brick pizzas. Bread and crispy flatbreads with bruschetta and olive oil dip was offered while waiting on our dinner. The place was very busy which is a good indicator that many people like this place. Our waiter was personable and very good. Would definitely come back.

This place is excellent. I was visiting Colorado from NYC and stumbled upon this place. My boyfriend and I ended up having dinner here on our 2-year anniversary, and we loved it. Food and service were both excellent. My favorite was surprisingly the French onion soup, which we both ordered. I had duck, and he ate the chimichurri steak special. The duck was fantastic and perfectly cooked. I loved our waitress and wish I could remember her name. The only negative I could identify would be the hostesses; their unapproachable attitudes didn’t mesh with the positive energy of everything else. Rude hostesses are the worst, but our experience was so good that even they couldn’t bring down our 5-star rating. Also, I have a gluten allergy, which the waitress and chef worked around effortlessly. They also threw in a free dessert at the end. Great job overall. We’ll definitely be back!

NEW Siena at the Courtyard, located in the heart of the quaint downtown area of Castle Rock with an outdoor courtyard, has a very nice vibe to it. The menu is excellent and their Happy Hour offers a nice selection of appetizers and libations. The only negative would be the attitude of the two pretty young hostesses. I would suspect that it took two of them to man the reception desk so that their combined IQ could make it into triple digits. Upon arriving there at around 5PM and wanting to get a feel for the place during Happy Hour, they inquired if we had reservations. Although, all the seating outside in the courtyard by the fountain was taken, looking around the room inside there were a number of empty tables. When I informed them that we didn’t have reservations, they frowned and indicated that all of the tables were reserved for future arriving diners. When I restated that we were just wanting to come for Happy Hour that evening and not dinner, they stated that the only space available was a hightop table. Why they didn’t offer that to us in the first place was a mystery. It was fine. Our waiter, Nicholas, was outstanding and we enjoyed the ambiance and the food which was paired with a very nice Savignon Blanc from New Zealand. I think management needs to train the receptionists to be a little friendlier and not try to be so snobbish. We will return and hopefully have a better greeting experience next time.

The 5 stars is for Siena’s Eggplant Parm. When Ryan, the server set it down, he said,“this is the best Eggplant Parm you have ever had”. Yah, I thought, nice training. Then I dove in… fantastic. Such a large helping I shared with 3 others — and all agreed. We had reservations for 6 people at 6:30 pm on a Saturday. Liked the vibe, nice live musician on Saturday. Ok, maybe somebody’s daughter(s) are working the front because they seemed slightly unsure of themselves but very hospitable when we checked in. Five others had diet food so who can say how it was but my meal was terrific. Prices seem moderate for dining out. The place was packed. Too bad we live in BFE or we’d go there on a regular basis.

I enjoyed Sienna but there were pros and cons to dining here. We came and it was packed but the hostesses seemed overwhelmed and not sure how to handle the crowd. We were told to wait, so we ordered some wine and sat down in the reception area. Our server was great, atmosphere was great(but dont come with children– it is more adult friendly) and our food was good too. Prices were a bit high for the food and drinks so this isn’t a place we’ll come often but for fun date nights.

Only one star for greeters — ESP Colby — SNOTTY uncaring gal — we had reservations and when we asked for a table not directly in front she said those tables are reserved — we were there almost 2 hours — no one ever came for those stables. Lazy or lie!!! FIVE5 stars for waiter Sean — 20 stars for a heated restaurant FIFTY stars for wine!!! Give us 5 – 10 months we may return. Uniscoli is far more professional, has a better menu and is friendly!!!

For the first time I strayed away from the pasta and chose the filet mignon. It was served with a side of mashed potatoes and topped with mushrooms. It was good, not great. I like my steaks cooked«medium», though it was perfect on the inside, it was a bit tough on the outside. With that said, I am a huge steak snob, and have very high expectations. The potatoes were great, and well, I do not eat mushrooms, but my wife said they were good. They have a nice selection of wine and beer. The atmosphere is very nice and our server was outstanding — big tip! My wife and I were dining with our 2.5 year old and our server paid special attention to the time in which things were brought to our table. Other parents can relate how a young child eating out can go from great to holy sh! t in seconds. My wife and daughter stuck with the pasta and were very happy. Had the key lime pie for desert and it was amazing. Will go back to the pasta for our next visit. Not the cheapest place in town, but not the most expensive either.
