I’ve been living here in the community for about two years. It’s always bright and quiet and very family oriented. The weather of course is always pleasant and I can say that it’s a really nice area.

I love taking advantage of this quiet community where I can peacefully take my late night walks her early morning walks without having to look over my shoulder. I’ve always been resident of Castro Valley I don’t know but not permanent I love the fact that everybody is so friendly and it’s pretty welcoming and warm to anybody that comes in yes we do have our crazy kids driving up and down the streets and up and down the hill but overall it’s worth it you get a good workout and it pays off have a good night

Beautiful little league fields. The fields have grass infield and a fence. Great view. Parking is horrible when games are going. Small playground and a couple picnic areas. You will see deer wandering around on most days.

Descent sized park with a great view. The park itself is just a softball field and playground. The restrooms were disgusting and the playground is entirely too close to the softball field. Foul balls can easily drop into the play area. Pretty dangerous.

Five Canyons park is located in a residental area in Castro Valley. The park has a great view since it is located on a hill & a decent bathroom right next to the playground. There is a play structure with swings that my son does enjoy. Why only 1 star you ask? The play structure is right next(not near, but directly next too) a softball field. I noticed this when we entered but no one was playing so I wasn’t concerned. The next time we visited this park a softball game was under way. There was ZERO parking, we had to park in a field a good walk away. A fly ball came flying through the playground not once but 2 times within 30 minutes. DANGEROUS! Who ever thought it was ok to put a playground so close to a softball field is insane. The 2nd ball that came flying through almost hit my 2 year old so I pushed him out of the way & it hit my leg. Yes it welted. Yes it hurt. Yes I was pissed. Yes I was thankful it was me & not my toddler’s head(which is where it would have hit if I wasn’t right next to him). Be forewarned if you take your tike to this park!
