That Katychick’s Skincare

Been here for almost a year now and I love how personable Katy is. I tell her how my face feels each time when I get there and she is able to switch some products around to personalize my facial each time. The products she use feel very nice, is full of natural fruit enzymes, and is not abrasive to my face. I’m not looking for fancy shops, I’m looking for great facials, and I get them here. Also, I like being able to text her and I don’t mind waiting for a reply because I know she will eventually get back to me.

It’s taken me awhile to write this review because of how torn Ive felt about my experience. But here it is…
I Got a Groupon for a facial which I then upgraded to a chemical peel per her recommendation.
PROS: She is very nice and my face looked great after.
CONS: Took me 2 – 3 months to finally get a hold of her to schedule. i had to keep having Groupon intervene for me so that i could actually book. After my facial, i was pleased with how my skin looked so I thought I would overlook the fact that it took forever to book. So I kept trying to re-book…and sure enough I never got a response. So sadly, she lost me as a returning client.
But I am thankful because it caused me to look elsewhere and i found a great Esthetician at Le Soma Clinique in Fremont. Her name is Mehri :-)

I bought a relaxation facial Groupon as a gift to myself after seeing the good reviews on Unilocal.I followed the directions on the Groupon and called to set up an appointment. I left a message with my name and phone number asking for an appointment. After a few days with no response, I called back. Her voicemail was full. Even though her outgoing message invites people to send her text messages, I decided against it. I have a policy against texting people I don’t know.
After a few more days I thought I’d try again. I figured if she didn’t respond this time, I’d contact Groupon for assistance. Well, just as I was looking for her phone number I received an email from Groupon. I guess I wasn’t the only person she didn’t have time for… Groupon cancelled the order and refunded my money without being asked. Apparently they tried to contact her and received no response as well.
Here’s my take on it:
–If you’re going to run a special on Groupon or Living Social, put a limit on how many you’ll sell. Then you won’t be overrun AND you’ll be able to fulfill your part of the agreement.
–If you’re too busy to handle the amount of business you’re generating, hire an assistant or another aesthetician to help.
–If you can’t even answer your phone to set an appointment, invest in some online scheduling software. It’s not that hard to set up.
–If you’re in a service industry, customer service is your lifeblood. Give people the same respect you’d expect of them. Call them back.
All I’ve got now is an unrelaxed face and a poor impression of That Katychick’s Skincare. Sorry, I can’t give you a good review since you’re far too busy to provide the service I paid for.

I saw the raving reviews on here and decided to buy a Groupon for a facial…
I followed the instructions per Groupon by calling her… Okay. No answer… No problem. I’ll just leave a voicemail and she can get back to me at her earliest convenience, right?
Well, on the voicemail greeting she said if her mailbox is full, send her a text.
(Ummm. You’re a business and should not allow your mailbox to get full in my opinion. If you’re that busy, why would you sign up for a Groupon deal? And by doing so, you should expect more phone traffic! And then to acknowledge it by telling you to send her a text. Seems a bit unprofessional for a first impression and first appointment.
Also, if phone calls aren’t your forte, why not set up a business email account or sign up for one of many online-​scheduling sites?)
Her mailbox was indeed full. (Sigh.) I hung up and texted her. I told her my name and that I bought a Groupon and would like to set up an appointment.
A week passes… Nothing. Call again… No answer.
I had no choice but to get in touch with Groupon. They couldn’t get a hold of her either to find a resolution.
It’s a shame really. I was looking forward to this facial.
I’ll happily take my business and money where I actually receive some sort of acknowledgement and service.
I saw the same Groupon on the site today… Don’t say I didn’t warn you poor people.

I just came back from my third treatment from the vitamin C peel. My skin feels great! Katy is filled with knowledge, and is also really down to earth. Def. give her a try b/​c you’ll notice a big improvement by the third session!

Went in for the relaxation facial and will definitely go back. Katy is very knowledgeable about the products and tells you what she’s doing, without any hard sell at all. My skin looked and felt wonderful after — and the shoulder and hand massage was very relaxing, too. I’m making another appointment!

I came here for a vitamin C peel after buying three session on groupon which btw was a great deal! The room is small and reminds me more of a massage spot, which I have to admit made me a bit hesitant. Kathy is very professional and just helps you relax and answers your questions. I asked if my sun spots would go away she said I might see a change but its not a harsh process so not to expect them to disappear. an honest answer. The facial was very relaxing and didn’t really hurt or burn and everything smelled sooo yummy! My face looked radiant afterwards, cant wait to go to my next session.

AWESOME!!! I received a relaxation facial as a gift purchased on groupon and must admit that I was not expecting much since it was a groupon. Katy was great! She took her time and the experience was definitely relaxing. She includes a neck and shoulder massage and I was in heaven! She also has such a great personality, I had lots of laughs while I was there!

The relaxation facial was perfect. I have gotten so many compliments on my skin this week and my husband decided he’s making an appointment with her for one because he’s so impressed! My skin feels so clean I haven’t gotten a zit since my facial last Tuesday! Great quiet atmosphere and I would recommend her to anyone interested in a little face pampering.

I’ve never been big on pampering myself until I found Katy! She is truly amazing at what she does, I’ve only received facials from her so far but I’m hooked! It’s hard to find the extra money to spend on myself but her facials are worth every single penny. Not only does she offer awesome facials and services but she has also helped me immensely with my skin care regimen and now my skin has never EVER looked better. I can’t wait to get into that cozy suite of hers again for some face peace and relaxation. Oh and if you can swing it, I suggest having someone pick you up after the facial because I’m often so relaxed I can’t seem to function enough to drive afterward!

My experience at That Katychick’s Skincare couldn’t have been any better. I enjoyed an hour of pampering and relaxing. I have somewhat sensitive skin and Katy made sure to use just the right combination of products on my face. I have had many facials in my life, but this one was the best. I felt as though everything was personalized… just for me. I left there with my face feeling and looking refreshed! Looking forward to my next visit before the Christmas parties begin.

Katy is awesome! I decided to try out one of those Groupon Now deals (Relaxation Facial) and I can’t believe how good she was in handling my problem skin. The place isn’t hard to find, just go into Suite 3, and she was there waiting for me with a great big smile. She explained the process to me, asked me any sensitivities or problems I might have on my skin off we went to relaxation land! For every treatment, she explained the benefits and sometimes the ingredients. There were probably about 6 different treatments, and they all felt and smelled great. There was a lime/​lemon one, a pumpkin enzyme one, a stonefruit one, and my favorite, the chocolate mask! She did some extractions (she’s not heavy handed and is very careful) and also zapped some of my bumps to get rid of bacteria. To top that off, she does this pretty awesome massage on arms, shoulders, lower back and yes, my oft-​forgotten, hardworking hands!
