Town & Country Canine Coiffeur

Town & Country was awful in the end. Alicia was the only one there that did a good job — the other groomer was anything but kind & gentle with the dogs (awful in fact). The place was a mess with more spider webs on the ceiling than I’ve ever seen… fit for a haunted house or something **shudder**. It was time to close.

Town and Country was taken over by Claudia’s Couiffure Le’ Petite at 510−537−1700 (see my review on Unilocal).
I took our dog there today, and they do a wonderful job, just like Town and Country used to do. You should try them out… they have over 15, 5-​star reviews… so glad Town and Country passed their business on to someone who also loves the pets and does a great job of grooming. :0)

They did a fantastic job and did close suddenly… sad to see them leave…

I’ve been taking my dogs to Town & Country for 30 years and when I called today found out they were no longer in business. I’m so very sad to lose them. All the best to Alicia and the gang. Thanks for your great service!

I take my long-​hair extremely tangled orange and white cat to Town & Country. This is the second long-​hair cat I have taken for grooming here and I have been very, very happy with the service. I would never try to groom either cat myself (neither wanted to be combed — petting ok, combing no) but both come home beautiful and getting the long hair off of them especially as summer (hopefully) comes. I don’t know what it takes on their part, but their prices are reasonable and I appreciate the great service.

I love town and country! They always do an excellent job and my dogs always smell great and look beautiful! The staff is also very friendly to my fur babies :)

Town & Country was recommended by word of mouth, actually we found their business card at the front desk of our doggy day care facility Dogtime (in San Leandro). The last time pup was groomed at Petsmart, she had a razor burn on her face and was scared to go into her crate for weeks after coming back, so we knew that her experience there was no bueno.
I had wanted to stop by this place for a couple of weeks, but every time I came by, the «closed’ sign was up, and to be honest I wasn’t even sure that they were still in business.
I took the pup for a walk the other day, and we stopped by and surprisingly the shop was open and the groomers were all fairly busy hacking away at some poodle hair. An elderly woman gave me a quote of $ 45 for a «whole shebang» grooming, cut, nails, bath, etc which was significantly less expensive than Petsmart, and I made an appointment for later in the week.
When we stopped in today, Alicia asked me what style of cut I wanted, and having no idea, I just said «short». Well, I came back and it was short! The pup is cute no matter what, and I’m just going to chalk up «short» as a learning experience, because a groomer is going to have a different idea of «short» than the average joe off the street.
Anyways, all the crucial stuff was taken care of, and was well done. Her face was cleaned up, the badonkadonk and girl parts, and her frito smelling feet. And the grooming only came out to be $ 40, which is another plus. Definitely coming back, probably going to have better instructions of the type of cut though.
