Delicious. Went there on a weekly, almost daily basis. Best pizza, pasta, sandwiches, etc. in the Lehigh Valley. I miss it still to this day! People are griping about their prices, ownership, etc. but they were always affordable and polite to me.

The only reason they get 2 stars is because I like the food and the delivery people. Ownership is very rude. Our office gave them TONS of business over the years but after this last episode we are through. On a previous phone call to deliver the owner was extremely condescending and basic called me stupid. This time we had 6 orders delivered to our office with 5 of them paying cash and 1 card. They had the nerve to charge $ 1 delivery fee for each order, even the ones we paid cash on! The nice delivery man said that there should only be 1 charge. We didn’t want it to come out of his pay so we called and spoke to the manager(owners daughter). She got extremely rude and when we said we just wont ever come back and tell others in the office not to order anymore either, her response was«that’s fine, that’s fine» in a very rude manner. Our money spends anywhere and you would think they appreciate the repeat business. Considering our company has hundreds of people working here, I hope they appreciate the lost business. Some people need to get out of the service industry.

I’ve driven past this place thousands of times… always wondered if it was any good. Last month my girlfriend brought 2 of thier pizzas to my place… I was intrigued… it was pretty damn good… not the best in the valley… but really good. Then I was told to try the sandwiches. Last week called and I ordered a few hoagies for dinner. First time I’ve ever walked in the place. the gentleman behind day the counter looked at me… gave me a slight nod… never said a word. I assumed it meant«hello sir, can I help you?» So I told him I’d placed an order for some hoagies… he grabbed the bag… still not saying a word… rang up my food… I gave him my money. he gave email me my change, turned and walked away. Never said a damned word… didn’t even crack a friggin smile! C’mon man… the hoagies were good… but dude… try a lil harder to make me feel like you appreciate the money I just gave you… damn!

I can’t say enough great things to about this restaurant. I absolutely love their food especially their steak sandwiches. I have never had a bad experience with this place & their owner John is always very friendly. I will eat here for as long as I’m in the area.

Pies on has great pizza and the wings are surprisingly good for a pizza shop. It’s your standard neighborhood pizza shop nothing fancy but that’s the way I like it

Called in an order for a large cheese pie at lunch time on a weekday. Order was ready in 20 minutes, and when we stopped in we decided to add a Sicilian slice to the order. Pizza was ready and hot when we got there, which is always nice. I hate when pizza places give you a time estimate, get the pizza ready too early, and it isn’t fresh when you show up on time to pick it up. The Sicilian slice was HUGE; it was almost the size of two slices anywhere else I’ve been. The crust was soft in the middle and crispy on the bottom, which is how I like it. Sauce was simple but had a decent flavor(not too sweet) and there was the perfect amount of cheese on top. The plain cheese pie, on the other hand, was not so good. We asked for the crust to be a little extra crispy, which we’ve requested multiple other places with positive results. It didn’t work here, though. The crust was not burnt, but it was far too chewy to be really enjoyable. I had two slices and my jaw was getting tired by the end. My husband says he noticed it, too, and thought to himself, «Wow, this is a lot of chewing!» The sauce and cheese were okay on this pie, but the texture of the crust really detracted from the experience for us.(Crispy and tough/chewy are two different things entirely.) Counter staff was friendly enough, the interior was cleaner than we expected based on driving by(it looks sort of like a dive), and there’s space to eat inside as well as tables set up on the sidewalk outside. All in all: Maybe even closer to 2.5 stars. I won’t return anytime soon. I was unimpressed with the pizza.

I regularly get pizza there and love it. It is probably the best pizza around. My only complaint is that prices don’t match anywhere near what they have on the website. Yesterday I ordered a pizza listed on the website for 15.99 and a bottle of soda. My final bill before tip was 23 dollars and change. Though I love the pizza, I will probably go elsewhere since the disclaimer on the website gives them the go ahead to charge whatever they want daily. if you do order, ask for a total before you hang up the phone so you know what you are paying.

Best pizza in Catasauqua and homemade pierogies. The fact that the family lives their values, donating food to the homeless is a bonus.

Pie’s On — I like the play on words. The pizza was fine. I like that I could order by the slice even for delivery. It was also cool that they accommodated adding toppings on slices, which are usually available with pre-made standard choices(cheese, pepperoni, etc.). I see that all they did was take a slice of cheese, throw on the toppings and warm up the slice for a short time. Can’t fault them for accommodating… I could tell that the pizza might have been pretty good at one point, based on eating the crust side of the slices. That side was crispier. Most of the slice, however, was soggy. I am surprised that 2 slices were going to take an hour to deliver, which they did. Probably because it was reheated slices, the heat was not maintained. Delivery issue. I wanted to try a couple of appetizers, so I got the garlic knots and the eggplant Parmesan fries. The eggplant parm fries came in a container smothered with marinara and cheese. It become more of a eggplant parm casserole than fries. Kind of hard to eat, and so I didn’t eat much of it. The garlic knots were OK. I think this place might be better in-person. Will have to try them that way next time.

Ordered takeout from here after reading all the reviews. Have been looking to find a local pizza place in the area. The pizza wasn’t bad, but it was pretty bland. Nothing special about it — not the bread, the cheese, or the sauce. The search continues…

Pie’s On Pizzeria is a Mom & Pop New York style pizza shop in Catasauqua, Pennsylvania. I grew up living 3 blocks from Pie’s On Pizza. Back in the 90’s they used to have a «2 Large Pizzas for $ 9.99» deal. Now it’s $ 19.99, and still a super deal. Ah, the good old days! My bros and I used to call ahead and then walk down and pick up the pies to save the delivery tip. Real Mom & Pop place too, owned by the same family for decades. Awesome pizza: The dough is hand tossed, and brick oven cooked. Always baked just right — to this day, I still remember how the crust is crunchy and chewy at the same time. All other pizzas are judged to this standard, and most fail. Especially in California, where they really don’t know how to do New York pizza. While I’m on a roll here, let me tell you what pisses me off about California pizza. «Large» really gets me going. Pie’s On Pizza’s large pizza is 18 inches. That’s a large. Not 14. Not 12. How is something that doesn’t even cover a magazine a large? What a joke. No, Californians don’t understand pizza. They don’t understand the cheese either. The cheese should be gooey and stringy. It should be thick and delicious. It should most definitely not be dry. How pizza can be served with dried out cheese on top, I don’t know. Might be something about the close proximity of the desert of Death Valley that inspires the stinginess of some California establishments. Cheese should not be sprinkled over the sauce the way vermouth is added to a martini. It’s the most important part of the pizza, even more than the crust. The sauce at Pie’s On is homemade and is thick and tangy, and toppings are generous and traditional. Pizza sauce should be flavorful so it can still be tasted without glopping it on. And, no, you can’t make up for not enough cheese by slopping the sauce on. And the cheese steaks… Eight inches of half hard, half soft Italian roll, stuffed, stuffed, and stuffed some more with fried thinly sliced steak. And that’s the small one. The large is a whopping 12 inches of deliciousness for only $ 5.99. Just thinking about it makes me start drooling on myself. The trick with cheese steaks is not to get too fancy. But all the details have got to be done right. The steak at Pie’s On is always juicy. You can’t imagine my shock when I first tried a cheese steak in California and it was dry. Yech! The cheese needs to be nice and melty. Then there’s the marinara. Don’t drown the steak, for god’s sake. Or, actually, if you’ve dried out the steak, then yes, you might feel obliged to «improve» your sacrilege with gobs of ketchupy sauce. Actually, the sauce should be a pungent marinara, with Italian herbs, and not ketchupy. The cheese steak also comes with fried onions and crunchy, tangy pickle slices on top. Mmmmm… I could go on and on about Pie’s On, but I’d like to sum up my review by saying that I was very fortunate to grow up with Pie’s On as my standard by which to judge pizza and cheese steaks. Fortunate, because the taste is still with me after 14 years of living in California, but cursed as well. Cursed, because almost every time I’m tempted to try a pizza or cheese steak in California, I remember Pie’s On Pizza and feel almost certain I’ll be disappointed. If only I could ask my mother to box up a pie and airmail it to me… *Chuckle* Pie’s On serves the best pizza and cheese steaks in Catasauqua, and probably always will.

I am not a connoisseur of pizza. His is OK but I do like one a few miles down the road way better. I did like his chicken steak. That was 4 stars. I did not care for his cheese steak. I visited his shop and got to watch the locals and owner and staff. The place was clean but not sparkling. The owner was abrupt at times. I had heard rumors but I have yet to witness. I think the love some share for this place is a local thing.

The best pizza in the area — by far! I grew up in an area with great pizza, and was sad with the abundance of tasteless pizza around here or just fast-food joints. It’s great to have finally found this little gold mine right in our back yard. We always get POP for parties with our friends, and they love it, too. Some of our out-of-town friends even request it when they’re visiting. It’s always a huge hit. The pizzas are perfectly cooked with the right amount of cheese and are a nice size. If you’re in the area and need a quick pizza fix, then this is the place to order from.
