Carpet Empire Plus

I come to the valley for the winter. When I arrived at my home here I realized that the flooring was so outdated, stained and just not attractive. So I went on a search to find new flooring. Went to Carpet Empire Plus and met Mike Tomlinson, Sales Flooring Specialist. He was so helpful. Showed me many different types of laminate flooring. He was very patient and finally I found just the one I liked. He set up a time for his estimator to come to my house. He also gave me a large sample of the flooring. They gave me a quote the next day and we scheduled the installation. Which included removal of the current flooring. (both tile and carpet) I was having this all done before Christmas so it had to be completed in a specific time frame. When they arrived at my house to start the project the crew was extremely efficient. What I thought would be a weeks work was completed in 3 days. I had laminate flooring done throughout the house except for the bathrooms and laundry room.
I am so pleased with the finished look. The new look is fabulous. Thank you Carpet Empire Plus and Mike Tomlinson for a wonderful job.

Rude staff beyond belief.
We visited Carpet Empire (Indio location) on the morning of ¹²⁄₂₉. Recently, our washing machine malfunctioned and flooded part of our house, damaging some of our living room carpeting. While fixing issues from this we’ve been working with the manufacturer of our washer to get the carpeting replaced. To do so, of course they need pictures of damage and an estimate of the work we’re getting done. After calling Carpet Empires about our situation, they tell us we have to go into the store, pick a type, etc. before they can give us any information. Fair enough. So we take pictures and measurements of the room (very simple square carpet, 10’x15’, nothing special or complicated at all) and head down to the store to see if we can pick our some carpet, get a price to give to our manufacturer so that they will later reimburse us for our costs. From the very moment we entered the store, the only gentleman there was incredibly rude and unwilling to provide any ounce of assistance. We told him our situation and he outright says he won’t just give out estimates to random people who walk in unless they’re willing to buy.
Okay.
So we tell him yes, we are of course customers in here to buy some carpet regardless of the fact that we’re going to have to get reimbursed later, but first of course we need to know the price and have proof of that price to get approved for the project. Absolutely refuses to help in any way. Shows us to some room with carpet in it, leaves us alone while we ourselves peruse and doesn’t offer to answer any questions or assist in helping us find what would be right for us. We choose a carpet style we like, ask some questions, and again ask if we can get some type of work estimate before we decide to purchase from them. Again, out right refuses. All the while the guy is fiddling with putting batteries in a flashlight, not even looking up at us while he says «No sorry it doesn’t work like that… we need measurements and…» and just kept going without telling us what steps we would have to take to even use their service. Didn’t offer to come out to take measurements for himself (we already have them anyway, that we took), didn’t say what we needed to do in lieu of getting an estimate beforehand. Basically, he said nope we can’t do that (which, who doesn’t give out estimates???) and offered no other solution of how we could use their service. If all he had to do to help our situation was move one step to the left, he would have refused to do so.
We walk out completely befuddled by a horrible customer experience that made no sense, the man not once looking up or offering any type of help whatsoever as we leave. How this place stays in business if this is how they treat new potential customers that walk in is beyond me. Despite Empire possibly being a cheaper provider out here, we will refuse to use them and validate their horrible customer service.

Had been looking for an area rug to go under a new sofa in our vacation home in La Quinta. Went first to Carpet Empire Plus in Indio and was referred to their store in Cathedral City, as it has a much larger inventory. Was told to ask for Janis Avedesian, which we did. Janis walked the showroom with us and took the time to show us carpet she felt would work with our lifestyle + the sofa fabric sample we had in hand. We went home with about 5 – 6 carpet samples, including sample boards off the racks. Once we determined one of them worked perfectly for us, we called Janis back immediately. Not only did Janis call to make sure the carpet was in stock in LA, but she called back a short time later to tell us the carpet could be in their store within a day or two. And it would only take 1 day to have it bound. This was on a Tues and by Thurs a.m., Janis called to say the carpet was in, bound and ready for delivery, which she made happen later that afternoon! Never have we had such a short turnaround time when ordering an area rug before! We are so pleased with the finished product and want to thank Janis for her professionalism, her follow through and her outstanding customer service. She deserves these 5 stars!

Went to Carpet Empire to get laminate ended up being sold on cheap cheap carpet that doesn’t last for 10 days stains gets dirt the seem terrible one side of the seam had one color carpet carpet the other with another car color carpet call them up took four months to get it fixed they kept then when they fixed it they took paint off the doors the walls I had Glue on the carpet call them they still haven’t called back they are terrible

Had my guest room carpeted. They were reasonably priced and showed up on time. Love my new carpet.

We give them four and a half stars. They were most helpful in our selection of both tile and carpet. We redid our MBR in carpet and the bathroom area in tile that resembles wood planking. We love the outcome.

Shopping for carpet is like shopping for a car, sales people with high pressure sales talk.
Carpet empire, was not that. Janis the sales person, was fun, informative and asked questions, about how we live in the rooms. We had to ask them back to adjust the closet doors, because they would not glide. Again, excellent service.

After reading their response I am surprised at how Michael felt it necessary to slam me — I have no idea how much more they sent because there was no measurement attached BUT I do know that I was told the measurement requirement was 78 sq yard and this same company had installed the exact same areas 5 years prior and used 78 sq yards then AND if the 74 sq yards initially sent had been enough to cover the area I would have never know that I had overpaid at that point AND maybe Michael should ask his employees why I had to make multiple phone calls to get the job finished 48 days after the order was place — many phone calls the final day of instillation when I was told install between 8 and 10 and it did not occur until 4 pm and phone calls that were said would be returned were not. ALSO WE had all the rooms empty of everything when the installers arrived and WE also put everything back — one of the installers did pitch in and help without our asking for which we tipped. ALSO Michael should maybe read my other reviews — one were I spent 20 min waiting for a sales person to stop a personal conversation and help me — and another where I was told to make an appointment and come back later to have the size of a windshield wiper checked and installed after purchasing three vehicles there. I guess businesses don’t like to be called out on their service when it doesn’t make them look good. Nothing can hide the fact that less carpet was delivered on the first day of install than what I had been charged for and no one has ever addressed the why or how of that. Besides the multiple phone calls I also sent a detailed message regarding the experience to them using their contact opportunity of their website.

had a small issue with the binding on the dining room area rug and Kim Sygitowicz made sure that we could get our carpet repaired and returned in record time before our new dining set arrived. she was a real sweetheart and worked diligently even though they were backed-​up with orders. we really appreciate her hard work and the professionalism of the installers.

This place is great! I purchased new floor coverings for my entire house. The prices beat their competitors, they were really easy to work with, the staff is very knowledgeable of the product, and the installation was flawless. Great job, guys! I highly recommend this company.

I recently purchased for CE+ and how happy I am! I was searching rugs all over the valley and could not find what I wanted, plus I wanted an 8ft circular rug. When I went into CE+ to see if they offered area rugs I was greeted immediately by the most professional salesperson, Janis. She apologized that they do not carry these rugs but was quick to show me an area of remnants and offer to have it cut/​bound to my specs. It was perfect, I got a beautiful rug for a great price. Her professionalism carried through when she called immediately and scheduled the cutting and finishing of the rug. Guess what? It was done and in my home within 48hrs. My expectations were certainly exceeded by CE+. Besides carpet they carry every other flooring solution I can think of. I would recommend this business without hesitation.

great service and pricing! took laminate samples home. picked what we liked… ordered and installed flawlessly.

Worst service ever! Schedule install several weeks in advance to condensate with trip down. I called a couple days before the install date to confirm they would show up and NO show! When I called all I got from the owner Steve was excuses and nothing else. And then they wanted me to wait several more hours to have his installers come to the house. Don’t go there. The customer service is the worst.
Just to respond to the message from Michael. Prior to us buying the carpet we confirmed an install appointment for early morning. It was confirmed! There was no miscommunication from my part. When «I» called to check on the installers after several hours of waiting! It when I was told they would be coming in the afternoon. We would have not done the purchase due to other appointments. As for a discount from them. I did NOT request. Nor want. Want I wanted was what we agreed to. We buy and pay, you install as agreed. there was no discount offered! What was offered was $ 50.00 for our lunch. On top of all of this we were asked to come back to the showroom to get our credit back. And no apology. I find it interesting that this was almost a year ago and Michael is just now responding to the review. Again says something about their service. DO NOT GO THERE!

Steve, Harry and the staff an the hard working guys who do the install at Carpet Empire Plus are really great. I went to all these high end Beverly Hill type flooring stores in the desert, shopping around, then went to Carpet Empire Plus. These other stores tried to up sell me, and had to deal with so many different people, a person for this, a person for that. Bullshit. I wanted a good quality laminate flooring install and price.
Carpet Empire Plus is a family owned and run business. Steve, the owner, who greeted me when I walked in the beautiful store, was great, a good man and strong believer in quality and customer service. I got an excellent product with padding, 12 mm thickness flooring, removal of my old carpet, and a perfect professional install, in which they clean up everything, like they were not there, including the sawing cut, saw dust, s from the flooring cutting saw they use outside.
I used them twice in the last year. When I replace my bedroom carpets in the future I will shop no other place then Steve and Carpet Empire Plus. Fair, straight forward, honest, with a sense of humor. Don’t get ripped off by these high end stores, don’t let the high end stores fool you. Carpet Empire Plus is High End, w/​o the high end prices.
I am from Brooklyn NY, no one rips me off. I am worse then a used car sales man. I get my deal. Go see Steve and get your flooring needs with pride and fairness.

Nice store but couldn’t get anyone to help us. Spent 10 minutes walking the store and no one would leave their office to help.

Excellent prices, service, and quality! I am extremely happy with my new carpet and tile and shopped around. Glad I chose Carpet Empire Plus.
