I have been in the customer service repair business for over 44 years. These people treat me and my wife like royalty. Excellent prices and honest people. Top of the line technicians. If you are going anywhere else you could possibly be making a mistake. You are truly treated like family here. They don’t give you the line that no one can come into the bay when you want to see what they are talking about because its an insurance issue really come on. THEY INSIST YOU GO INTO THE BAY AND SEE WHAT YOU ARE SPENDING YOUR MONEY ON! I hope that Tony and his staff never retire. They are the best.

I took my vehicle there in January, I was told that it would cost $ 6,000.00 to fix my vehicle. I went somewhere else and I am still driving the vehicle they told me I needed to replace the engine. They didn’t even bother looking.

Exquisite and amazing mechanic shop! I was visiting palm springs from out of town, and I wish these guys lived in my area! My AC line unexpectadely blew off after just arriving to our hotel, and in 108 degree weather, and not having AC, I had to get something done quick. I came into the shop, with a friendly welcome by Beth. Who immediately starting taking care of us, as if we were her own. They had to order my part, and it came in next day super early. Way quicker than i was expecting. They were very helpful in accommodating us since we were visiting out of town on vacation. I was very impressed with their service. Paul took the time and really is a knowledge mechanic. He took the extra time to look at a couple other concerns i had for free, and gave me his feedback which was very helpful for me. Erik was also very nice and friendly. Tony, the manager, was such a delight to talk to, and really had a fun and easygoing visit here, which was a little stress free for my girlfriend and I. Tony really believes in honest and personable business, and isnt the money savvy scammer that most shops tend to be. He let my girlfriend and I come in the shop as paul was working, to periodically look and check on my car, and see what was going on the whole time it was being worked on. Tonys a really cool guy. I was truly impressed by these guys, and will be even driving 3 hours out here again in a month to get my clutch kit installed on my 350z, because they did such a good job, and are a pleasure to deal with. Im not normally the one to write reviews on places, but this shop truly impressed me. They’ll even wash your car for free! Thankyou again Performance Plus Automotive. A+++++++

Professional and personable service. Tony the owner is a character believes in good old fashioned customer service. We had an ac problem in our audi and the dealership said they could get us in next week. Tony and his staff found the parts cheaper than the audi dealer and had one of his mechanics stay late to get us back on the road. It was 95 degrees outside they were a lifesaver and cheaper than audi. I might add the audi dealership did recommend them although they could not help us.

Well, things aren’t as rosy as they once were! I am extremely disappointed in this shop! We took our Ram 2500 in for diesel service. Beth called and said it needed a serpentine belt and brakes. We weren’t surprised because the truck has 100,000 well cared for miles on it and belt was original as were the back brakes. The rotors had never been resurfaced.
We arrived to pick up the vehicle, expecting a $ 800 or so bill, and were presented with a $ 1600 bill. The mechanic took the easy way out and replaced everything with new parts. No resurfacing, which would have saved us about $ 700.00. The mechanic told us that these rotors weren’t meant to be resurfaced, that they come from the factory too thin.
After paying the bill, we called the dealer and asked if they ever resurface rotors. The answer was «all the time». We called Tony and expressed our disappointment.
He had us come in to look at the parts, but unfortunately was in CYA mode. He was concerned with protecting the mechanic, the shop, the service writer, and of course himself. There was not even a lip on the rotors, they were not worn at all and a thin cut would have saved us the added expense.
Their loss. we are good, loyal customers but won’t be returning to this shop!

Tony and his whole staff here took care of my car needs. Tony is a good, stand up guy. He is interested in making a long term returning customer then nickel and diming you. Respect that about this place. Great master mechanics (Dave) can be found in the bay’s and they let you watch as the work on your vehicle. Great stuff. Keep up the good work guys.

Once again, Tony Owner, Beth the front office and the mechanic William has taken good care of my two cars! They found and fixed an oil leak fast. They took care of my brakes too and other issues as well. Turn around time to get my vehicles done are less than other shops and I got all that done for a great price!

You would be doing yourself a MAJOR disservice if you’re experiencing auto issues and have not contacted Tony yet! I wish this guy was here in San Diego!
Extremely honest guy, invited me to pull up a chair and watch the mechanic work on my car the entire time in the shop. He gave my wife and I his car to got look around while our car was being worked on. No BS, told me straight up what was wrong, gave me options and an easy way out on the price. I took the more expensive route as I could not beat the quality parts, awesome service and I wanted to be a part of his success as well.

You know they are great when you give a mechanic 5-​Stars for NOT fixing your car! I’m visiting Palm Springs and on way out here my «maintenance required» light goes on half way out on the drive from San Diego. Unilocal gives Tony and Performance the best rating and I understand why!
Tony clarified the difference between the check engine light (bad) and maint req light (reminder) then diagnosed what happened (I changed my 30K oil early and light came on after my oil change) and saved me the time and possible set up for getting charged by someplace for nothing.
He gave me additional information (signs of and expert and a good guy), and invited me to come stop by for coffee any way! How can we clone a couple thousand Tonys!!!
I love and trust this guy and I haven’t even had a chance to meet him yet!

Very Rude customer service. I asked for a simple cleaning for a gas tank and was asking about the procedure. I got a response of «if you keep me on the phone longer ill charge you more» then hung up. Guest what Bud, I am a Unilocaler.

Tony, William and Beth were awesome! As a customer you are given the opportunity to watch as the technician services your vehicle! They are professional, friendly and most important honest My only complaint is I don’t live close enough to make them my regular mechanic

I have been using this shop since I moved to the dessert a year ago. I have always been very pleased by the service and the repair work. The prices are competitive and often cheaper (and certainly less expensive than the dealer) and they do the work based on the recommendations of the manufacturer. They use parts that they have had the best experience with rather than trying to «upsell» something you don’t need.
They are very friendly and they remember my name when I return. And the best little perk is having a clean shiny car after the service.
Would highly recommend for their honesty and integrity as well ad their customer service. And yes, if you are afraid of dogs, say something so their resident pooches can be contained, although they are quite friendly.
