Ethan Allen has a great name and reputation for quality furniture. I did find a lot of high quality, solid wood furniture there, but it was a lot more bland than I thought it would be — especially their selection of platform beds which was virtually non-existent. I did see one fabulous bed on sale for $ 1000 less than the asking price(still $ 1000 as a result). I made a mental file to show it to my husband online and then come back. Notice how I say«I noticed» and not«a salesperson pointed it out.» There wasn’t a salesperson in sight when I went(around 7:30 on a Thursday night), despite the fact that the front desk receptionist called one who was in the back room to inquire about platform beds when I walked in. The receptionist mentioned that the salesperson was in the back, but soon leaving for the night, so I just made my way through the(larger-than-it-initially appears) showroom. Eventually the sales lady did come out from the back room to show me around, but I had already found the one and only true platform they had there, so there wasn’t much else she could do for me. Nor was there time. No sooner had the woman approached me than a voice came through the speakers of the store: «Attention Ethan Allen customers: Our gallery will be closing in 5 minutes.» Uhhh… really, homegirl? it’s just me here. I couldn’t help but chuckle as I made my way out the store. I smiled even more when I passed a couple walking IN to the showroom as I was walking out. The sales lady’s face was priceless. *Tips* — check the clearance section. It’s way in the back and the ‘sales’ are hit or miss, but you may find something if you look. — don’t come close to closing time
