As a newbie to smoking, I was very unsure of what I wanted when I first arrived at Fader’s. The staff was extremely helpful and very well versed on cigars. The gentleman that always helps me who has horn rimmed glasses always has a good suggestions. I asked him many questions and he had a lot to say! Not a very big selection, but very friendly helpful staff, good for newcomers. They have loose tobacco as well.

Great store been there for years. Very reasonable prices for a chain store. Good selection of cigars, even got my Opus X why I was in there.

True to the no-BS help. They know pipe tobacco and know their cigars. Its not a big store and they have only two chairs for smoking but these guys will definitely take care of you and point you in the right direction. Also, they encourage you to bring your pipe in and try samples right there no hassle, I mean, does it get any better than that? Most of the staff is either retired or prior military so they always have some great stories and will give you a military discount, which is great for me. Your missing out if you don’t stop by hear a story or two and try some of their house blend pipe tobacco.(cigar selection is really good too)

As a newbie, I was treated very well and given reasonable advice. As the other reviewer said, they’re No-BS pipe guys! As far as I can tell, this place is the real deal.

I’ve been going to Fader’s for years. They’re an established, honest-to-god tobacconist, and they know their stuff. The Catonsville store’s got a nicely stocked humidor and a good selection of tinned and bulk pipe tobacco, along with a decent selection of pipes in all price ranges. The regulars are an interesting crew, and you can find yourself in the middle of a rather lively conversation at any time. The staff are no-BS pipe and cigar guys, and they’ll point you in the right direction and are more than willing to offer advice or an opinion. Don’t go looking there for Marlboros and Newports, though — Fader’s is a specialty tobacco store. Think Dunhills, American Spirit, and Nat Sherman. Smoking is allowed in the store, which is always a plus in this day and age. Don’t be a snob, stay off the cell phone at the counter, and take some time to peruse the selection. The only thing they could do to make this a better shop would be to serve coffee and expand their smoking lounge… but the Towson store’s got that.
