I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Castle and all of the amenities of the resort(pool, hot tub, restaurant) but I have to say the spa left something to be desired. The first time I just got an eyebrow wax. Quick and simple and she did do a good job but another woman kept coming in and out of the room to grab things or put staff away. I think I was the last appointment of the night and they were trying to close down the rooms. But she had hot wax and tweeters near my eye! This made me very nervous and I thought it was a little unprofessional. The following day I received a pedicure(if you can call it that). It was very short: no massage and no drying. At the very end while she left me in the chair air-drying I decided to speak up. I would have felt really bad if she didn’t receive a tip and didn’t know why or it was just a simple mix up. I forget stuff too. «I did the massage» was all she would say as she continued to go around the room and put things away. But she definitely did not. I decided to also ask how long this«drying» would take as I’d never let my nails air dry before(hint: you forgot whatever drying tool you use. I’m assuming that lamp you just put away after the client before me). «Oh, you haven’t?» was all she said. I was really bummed out. This was a $ 55 pedicure and it was really just a polish change. It’s too bad I couldn’t leave a tip but I was not paying a cent more than $ 55 for a polish change. On the very last day I asked the girls at the spa reception area if there were showers at the indoor pool down at the Point. They swore there were. Twice. I walked there and guess what? No showers. I had almost really had it with the spa at this point so I asked the people at the front to call the spa and ask them why they would tell me that. No one had an answer for me. But the people at the Point were kind enough to let me shower in one of their rooms since I was about to do a 3-hour drive back to Boston in holiday traffic and I wasn’t comfortable doing that covered in uncomfortable chlorine. Anyway, I hope the spa works out their kinks. In my opinion it’s a disappointment to the whole property, which tries really hard to go above and beyond in all other aspects.

Great experience! Staff is unbelievably nice. Outdoor heated pool and hot tub was amazing(and made the experience worth every penny). Do it even if you’re chicken of the cold or your bathing suit. We were totally skeptical because it was under 20 out but it was a highlight of our trip — it even started snowing which was bery romantic and relaxing. The sauna is small but nice for a short period. There are plenty of water bottles but was surprised there wasn’t a more refreshing option in the locker area(cucumber water would gave been nice especially after coming out of the sauna). Locker area is nice and clean. We both had massages and both found them fantastic(and we’re picky about this). It was a truly relaxing and rejuvenating time. If I had to do our trip over I would take more advantage of the facilities and stay the full day.

This is an Aveda spa, I have enjoyed treatments at many. The Castle Hill experience was the best ever. My boyfriend had a message from a very capable and knowledgeable gentleman. I had a facial with Linda. She is special! My face looked 10 years younger when we finished. My hair was a mess, of course, and fortunately she had time to help me. The wash and blow turned into a new style. She was awesome and I was fully coiffed in 20 mins. Turns out Linda once had been a hairdresser too. Absolutely terrific and a pleasure.
