Bastrop Auto Salvage

So I came here looking for a drive shaft for my explorer. When I called on the phone they told me that they had one. So I went to go pick it up, when I got there it was the completely wrong part. But they said that they would order me one from another shop. I was happy because I’d been looking for a driveshaft for about a week and had no luck what so ever. The guy Juan said that my part would be there Friday or Monday (I was ordering on a Thursday). And that when it got in he would give me a call and I could come and pick it up.
So Friday comes and no call, I wasn’t too worried. So Monday comes and no call, so I decide to call them to see whats up. The guy told me it was on its way and he’d call when it got there. So I figured I was just unlucky and oh well worse things had happened. So Tuesday comes and still no call, so I give the guy a call. He says that the package is out for delivery and that’ll be there that afternoon. So I wait but still no call.
So Wednesday comes and I decide to head out there and see if I cant make some headway in person. I get there and the guy seems totally disinterested. And just tells me that the package is out for delivery and it’ll get there by the end of the day. Being that this was the second time that he’d said that I wasn’t very willing to take his word for it. So I asked for my money back, this is when he started paying attention.
He informed me that he couldn’t give me my money back, since it was a special order. I brought up the fact that on the back of my receipt it makes no mention of not getting refunds on special orders. He dismisses this and just continues that they dont offer refunds on special orders.
I asked him how long I’d have to wait to get a refund being that it was nearly a week since I had ordered the part. And we argued for a bit, at the end of it he said if the part had not arrived by the next day that he would give me my money back.
So the next day which is a Thursday making it exactly a week since I placed the order. I receive no call, so I give the place a ring to see what’s going on today. He says that the package is out for delivery, and is immediately hostile. I tell him that ill be out there an hour before they close to get my money.
He tells me that he didn’t say he would give me my money back today. But that he said he would give me my money back Friday if it still hadn’t come in yet. So here I sit Thursday night, still without my part or my money. I’ll update this review tomorrow to let people know how it went.
I highly recommend that you avoid this place at all costs.
