We just spent 2WONDERFUL days at Elaine’s in the little village of Cedar Crest, which is snuggled into the East Mountain region of New Mexico. This gorgeous and spacious B&B is an idealized version of a log cabin, but with all the modern amenities, and it exudes warmth and charm. Our room(the one with the bunnies carved into the headboard of our four-poster bed) was airy, spacious, well decorated and clean as a whistle. It had a large closet, a private bath, a fireplace, and a patio. For $ 159, it was a very good deal. Elaine O’Neil is a charming hostess, who personally cooks breakfast(included) each morning. Another huge selling point is the AMAZING array of books, new and old, on nearly every topic, from biography and history to potboiler and serious fiction… and everything in between. Next time we journey to the Albuquerque area, we will most definitely return to Elaine’s.
