Dollys Taxi

Do not RELY on this company! We were in town for a concert. We were told they would be running their party busses from hotel to hotel as a shuttle service and then would take everyone to the uni dome for the concert and would run after the concert to bring everyone back to their hotel. They charged $ 10.00 per person, each way, but never showed up to pick everyone back up! We were dropped off and told to return to the same location for pick up, but in doing so we had no ride waiting. There were 2 busses that showed up, but upon trying to enter we were told they were reserved and quickly turned away. We waited AN HOUR AND A HALF in the cold trying to get a ride back to our hotel. There were HUNDREDS of people waiting to be picked up and due to relying on this company, everyone was stranded. Horrible service!

I unfortunately cannot recommend what it is apparently the only taxi service in the area. The Black Hawk Hotel recommended them to me, and suggested that I call the day before to make a reservation to be picked up at the airport on a Tuesday night. I did make a reservation, but when I landed there was no cab waiting. I was soon the only person left at the airport. I called, and to the credit of the person who answered the phone, she arrived in 10 minutes, apologized for the dispatcher’s error and gave me a $ 5 discount. (It was a bit awkward putting my two pieces of luggage in her back seat, as she explained that her trunk was full.)
When I called to make a reservation to return to the airport, they had no explanation for what happened. I gave the address of where I was to be picked up (California St.) They called back several minutes later to say they couldn’t find «Colorado Street» on the map. At that point I decided to make other arrangements to get to the airport, as I really did not want to be stranded and potentially miss my 5:30 a.m. flight.
