Best gas station. Judge-free environment, friendly employees, and great prices. Highly recommend one of their Peanut Butter Crispy treats.

I really like how this gas station has an incredible amount of snacks, beer, fruit, and hot food! I have never had any of their hot food(I don’t eat gas station food) so I can’t comment on that but from what my friends have told me it is really good! They always have a vast selection of fresh doughnuts, bakery items, hot dogs, soup, and all of the beverages you could imagine. This gas station is right by my apartment so I find myself going here multiple times a day usually. Every time I go in I am greeted right away and the service is tremendous. The gas priced are some of the cheapest in the area too. They accept bottle and can redemptions for recycling, which is convenient. Overall, everything a good gas station experience should be!

I was on my way home from work at about 11 o’clock on a Wednesday night. I needed milk and bread. Normally I visit the kwik star over on Nordic Drive. But tonight I thought I would stop here because it was more on my route home. When I walked in there was a lady and another man behind the counter. They were not helping anyone and when I walked in they just looked at me. They didn’t say hi or knowledge me. Even though I made direct eye contact. I rounded the corner and the food-service employee was talking with a customer. He looked at me moved out of my way but no hi smile or acknowledgement. I grab my milk and a loaf of bread and pass by the food-service employee a couple more times. Still nothing. When I walked up to the counter the two employees behind the counter were so busy talking to each other I wasn’t sure which one who was going to help me. So I finally just leave my stuff up on one counter and hope that she would help me. She then smiled at me and asked me if I found everything okay. But then turned to the other employee and continue to have conversation about another customer who was in earlier. I didn’t feel appreciated. But I went say that they were rude or unfriendly. But the experience could’ve been a whole lot better. I got the convenience out of the convenient store. Just not the friendly smile but I’m used to getting at the kwik stae up on Nordic. Next time I think I’ll just go the mile or so out of my way and get better service. Alright so tonight I updated my review from a two star to a three star. All the credit goes to Traci. When I entered tonight the gentleman behind the counter looked at me and almost purposefully avoided eye contact with me to not have to say anything or even a knowledge or smile at me. I picked up the items I needed and headed up to the counter where Tracy graciously offered to open up her counter to check me out. She provided engaging small talk about our busy days and about the snacks I was purchasing. She was going to be off in 10 minutes but she was still eager to take care of me. If not for her I would have left my review at a two star. If I would’ve been egg knowledge when I had come in and even when I tried to make eye contact with the gentleman he still avoided me I could have probably gotten it up to a four star just because of Tracy.

I don’t plan on making it a habit to review larger chains and corporations but this particular gas station has a special place in my heart. Myself and my group of friends used to live and hang out directly across the street from Kwik Star, where Jimmy John’s is now located. We would all just hang out on the sidewalk and listen to music, skateboard, and be stupid. During this time I lived off of white bread, milk, cereal, ramen noodles, and donuts from that place. Not the healthiest period of my life, but very convenient and incredibly fun. The people that worked the night shift there were always really cool and we often had long conversations with them about random things. Every now and then I would go and buy a block of raw cookie dough, a container of milk, and proceed to microwave that cookie dough until it was about half way cooked and then I would pour the milk all over it and eat it with a spoon. It was awesome and it gave me the worst stomach ache every time I did it. As far as food goes Kwik Star sells ready-to-eat burgers, pizza, breadsticks, soup, hot dogs, as well as a decent selection of coffee drinks and donuts. They also have a cooler with fruit, salads, and sandwiches, juice, and milk in a bag. Pretty impressive for a gas station. I miss the crap out of this place.
