We’d been looking for a sectional couch for a good six months, and most places wanted way too much for what I would consider reasonable. Regular-priced furniture from Simpson’s Furniture was no exception. I have no idea who pays $ 3,000+ for sectionals, but most of the sectionals from Simpson’s were between the $ 1,500 and $ 3,000 range. A lot of their furniture is pretty expensive, but the store is set-up nicely, and it does make it easy to browse and find what you’re looking for. However, the saving grace with Simpson’s is their«Bargain Basement». The first time we came and visited their basement, it was horrendously bad. As in, we took photos and said this place was a place of nightmares. The basement was barren aside from a couple random chairs(in this huge, giant space) and a couch going for $ 30 that looked like it belonged in the dumpster(that bad). However, I saw some signs about clearance at Simpson’s, so I decided to come back. Again, their regular furniture was way outside of what we wanted to pay, but I went into the Bargain Basement, and it looked a whole lot better this time. There are chairs, tables, sectional pieces, end tables, couches, and more in their basement. The prices are actually pretty reasonable too — about 50% off their standard merchandise, but everything is sold as-is. They ended up having two brown sectionals that had some seams starting to unravel. It was $ 700 for a sectional that normally cost $ 1,600, and I figured I could sew up the seams. The sectional was in otherwise good shape, and we went and purchased it. I was told that a coupon I had wouldn’t apply to the order, but otherwise, with tax and delivery, we made it out of there at slightly over $ 800. However, delivery wasn’t scheduled until almost two weeks later(We do live over 50 minutes away from the furniture store, so this is slightly understandable) Before delivery, we received a hand-written card in the mail addressed to the both of us thanking us for our purchase and reiterating what time they’d be delivering the item. That was a nice touch. Day before deliver, they called to let us know that they’d be delivering mid to late morning the next day. Day-of delivery, they called 20 minutes before they’d be at our place to let us know they’d be there. Delivery was there as promised, and they took care with moving in our furniture. Nothing was harmed or anything in our home from them moving in furniture. Couch looks fantastic and exactly as it did in-store. My only complaint is that it was an as-is purchase. I’d love to have had a 30-day return warranty on the item, but apparently, that’s not something they offer. Final thoughts: We’d definitely come back here again and monitor the bargain basement when we need new furniture. Their bargain items are very well-priced, and the staff is extremely helpful. Delivery was done exactly as promised, and the couch, while gigantic(we knew that) is super-duper comfortable, and I feel like I got a great bargain. I’m impressed.

I really like going in here to look at what my options are but thats about as far as it goes. They are the most expensive furniture store in the area. Staff is ok some really know their stuff others not so much but all are nice and helpful. It’s pretty sad though when you can buy the same furniture for $ 150 less someplace else and Simpson’s won’t price match. I also do not like having to order something out of a catalog they do not have on the floor and being told if I don’t like it I’m stuck with it not very consumer friendly but I wanted the matching chair to the sofa they have in stock. I did end up buying the chair hopefully it’ll work but I did buy the sofa someplace else… $ 150 is a big difference. EDIT: well the chair came. the one they said was with the sofa I was looking at on their floor… nope it wasnt. HATETHECHAIR. Now I’m stuck with it. someone on craigslist is going to get a GREAT deal on a new lane recliner…
