Sammy’s

Sammy’s could be so much more – and so much more lucrative to the owners – in the hands of a decent cook. The kids making the food are really nice but very inexperienced and clearly overwhelmed by the job. If I owned this place I’d be looking for an excellent restaurant operator in the Midwest and asking that person to relocate to Utah to run Sammy’s like a true diner. We would go there all the time – and so would everyone else in Cedar Hills – if the food was better.

Overall, it’s pretty good and it’s a nice option for the area. I wouldn’t say that the burgers are fantastic since the meat is clearly packaged, frozen, and thrown on the grill. A bit of seasoning or marinade would go a long way.
The fries and pie shakes are what stand out at Sammy’s.

I haven’t tried their food, but their pie shakes are awesome. It’s literally a shake with a piece of pie blended in. Their shake prices are a little higher than most, likely due to the pie in the shake as opposed to syrup. Well worth it.
