Excellent communication from Andrew. Knew every step of the process and what was needed to be repaired.
The cost was super reasonable as the work needed to be done overlapped the other work that needed to be done. Typically, shops charge full hours on the labor for all repairs. Advanced Automotive charged Fairly for the work they did.
The work was done in one day and was able to pick my vehicle up by 5PM.

Excellent, honest, fair service. That’s rare these days. I took my old van to ANOTHER SHOP because the check engine light was on, and to have it inspected. They pretty much laughed at me as they gave me a list of repairs that cost more than the van was worth. I felt very angry, because I could tell they were being nice to me to my face, but were really trying to screw me and see if I’d fall for their crap. I had heard about Pete at Advanced Automotive from my neighbor. She said he was very fair, and that I should take to him because he fixed her truck for less than half what the dealer wanted, and he wasn’t «high-​pressure» like the guys at the national chain I went to earlier. ANYWAY, I showed up yesterday morning at 7:50am. They’re very easy to see because they’re in a blue building right on Bell Blvd. I walked in and talked to the bearded guy behind the counter. He took the keys and they pulled the van into one of the bays almost immediately. Seriously, it was about 2 minutes from the time they took my info and asked me what was happening until the van was being looked at. They started it, and looked around under the hood for a few minutes. Then they plugged a computer under the dash, and looked at it for a while. I was curious about what was happening, so I walked outside by the bay while they looked at it. The guy went back under the hood and then ASKED ME TO COME LOOK at what he was doing. I walked right into the bay, and the guy I later learned was Pete showed me that a plug on my intake hose was disconnected!!! Holy crap! I had changed the air filter earlier that month, and apparently when I put it back I didn’t push hard enough on the plug for it to snap into place, and it came out. It was in a place that was hard to see, so I didn’t notice it when I looked under the hood after the light came on. SO, this other national chain shop that I took it to quoted me over $ 900 for repairs that I never asked for, and I’m not even sure if they saw the disconnected plug. Pete at Advanced Automotive plugged it in right in front of me, and talked to me about the van for a couple of minutes. He asked if I drive it every day, and I told him I have another car that I drive and that the van sits most of the time. He jokingly told me he could do a full inspection of it, and probably find plenty of expensive, unnecessary repairs if I wanted him to. I told him, no… I just wanted to figure out why the check engine light was on. He showed me that it was now off, and I was happy. The best part was that the total cost to figure out what was wrong, and fix it was about what I spend on a nice lunch!!! Obviously, that was a best-​case scenario, and I doubt I will ever get off that easy again… but I wanted to share my story because another «reputable» well-​advertised chain treated me like a second-​class citizen, and gave me a quote for almost $ 1,000 for something that they could have fixed for nothing!!! I love places like Advanced Automotive. I understand why the other place quoted me so high. They have lots of overhead costs that Advanced Automotive doesn’t have. Personally, I’m here to get my car fixed. I don’t care about how many tvs they have in the waiting area, or if they have perfectly starched uniforms. I just want my car fixed right, for a fair price. That’s exactly what Advanced Automotive in Cedar Park did for me. Obviously I’m very happy with them because I just spent 45 minutes writing a review on them. Thank you!

There are not enough stars to rate the guys at Advanced Automotive!!! We have been going to these guys for years and had nothing but care and concern for our needs. Yes RF. they are honest guys and they probably wanted to see if they could save you a few bucks and couldn’t see the issue over the phone. BUT not only do we TRUST them, but we pass many other shops on the way to Advanced Automotive (some with such a deal) and we know that we have mechanics who have become «friends». As far as the décor, ITS A REPAIR SHOP!!! I am not planning to dine there. I have spent many times waiting on my car repairs, while using their wifi or watching tv, in their nice comfy chairs, but Really? the way the office looks??? Today Pete and Andrew took care of my car (as they always do) I had brakes, shocks, tires mounted, wipers, oil change and inspection. All I can say is I knew the car was in good hands and I didn’t worry all day. They even called to remind me that my car needed the inspection. I am very happy to say that there are trustworthy and honest mechanics around. Thanks to the staff at Advanced Automotive & Transmission for all you do for your customers.

I am at a loss to understand the glowing reviews of Advanced Automotive. I called IN ADVANCE to talk about my liftgate issue. They told me to bring it in. I missed the red flag which is — they’re not busy.
I drove down and found the place. Not too much going on, seriously bitchin 67 Camaro sitting outside (lemon yellow even!) and some guy working on a Chyrsler. I go into the office and immediately regret doing so. If there’s pride in their work, it certainly doesn’t show in the office. The ceiling of the window between front desk and back office is coming down, it’s drywall but reminds me of a headliner. A man I assumed was the owner took the keys and went out and tried the fob to get the rear liftgate to open. I’ve already tried that. I know he has to understand the problem before he can make a diagnosis, but that wasn’t going to happen.
I do appreciate his honesty, «Honestly, I don’t know a lot about this. You need to take it to Ford».
If they knew they had no practical experience with automatic liftgates, why couldn’t they tell me that when I called? That’s WHY I called. That’s the time to say to the boss «Hey Boss! Do we fix broken liftgates?» Inviting the customer to come down to the gloomy, dreary office reminiscent of better times, only to telll them they can’t fix it, parts for this car are expensive and — to their credit — declined to play «Maybe it’s This», I consider that an honest assessment of their experience and while the trip was a waste, they didn’t offer to take it and see what they could do.
Oil changes, adding air to tires, stuff like that I can do myself. I have heavy duty ramps for driving up onto for an oil change. I’m about to airbrush some scratches out then do clearcoat. There’s not a lot I can’t do. So I’ll find Chilton’s for a 2008 Lincoln Navigator and do it myself. I was at 1 star, then I had to add a star for the honest assessment of the work needed and his inexperience. But that’s a very generous 2^nd star. Ya’ll gotta do something about the dingy interior office. A can of paint, some way to replace the drooping drywall, and brighten up the place! It has the same dingy ‘60s interior feel that Woodalls have. And I will take the car to Ford. Four months from purchase and probably several hundred dollars for a repair. Not feeling warm fuzzies about Bluebonnet.

Is there no independent shop who is fearless enough to take on the apparently complicated task of determining why the liftgate won’t open automatically? I really want to know.

This is the first review I’ve ever written but these guys really deserve it. We just brought our car in for an oil change and they did an excellent job. Our tire light was on and they added air to the tires and fixed us right up. I’m so happy to have these guys right around the corner from us!

Alright, ready for one of those reviews that just makes you go, «Wow, there is a bit of goodness left in the world»? Well here it is!
Our Honda CR-V’s AC went out, so I Unilocaled and found these guys. The quote was $ 2000, but I comped it with another well-​reviewed shop in Cedar Park, and the quote was the same. So, we took it in and the repair took a day and a half. We got the car back, but the AC didn’t seem to blow as cold as it did before it went out. I thought that it should blow even colder considering it was a new system. So, I called Andrew and he said to drive it for another day or two, and if the problem persisted, he recommended we bring it in.
Well, we went on vacation soon after, so I couldn’t test it out sufficiently. While on vacation, I get a call from Andrew. He asked how it was going, and I told him we were gone and couldn’t drive the vehicle. He then told me that there were about four similar calls that month, all using the same part, and everyone complained of the same problem. So, what does he do? He tells us that, at absolutely no cost to us, they would take the vehicle back whenever was convenient for us, and repair the part (a costly, 5+ hour job).
Andrew took time to mention that he would rather have the shop incur extra cost at their expense, but have satisfied customers. Andrew also said that they would deal with the parts rep, letting them know that if they don’t deliver quality parts they would not do business with them any more.
Isn’t that awesome? We were just blown away at their honesty, integrity and desire to be good businesses people. They really look out for their customers, and we will no longer take our vehicles anywhere else!

Can’t say enough. I worked with Andrew and his customer service and attitude is incredible. Any time I have any questions or needs for any of my vehicles, I never hesitate to call Advanced. Their number is in my contacts and I am always confident they are going to take care of me and my cruisers. Excellent shop!

Another honest experience here. Yesterday we thought the brakes on the 2000 Ford truck were «squishy» & we took it here for a look. Once again, we got a same day appointment for a brake inspection. And when we expected to hear we needed new brake pads or more, nope, all is fine. No charge for the inspection. We’ve lived in 3 states in the past 12 years & this is the most honest shop we’ve ever encountered. Highly recommended.

I had my clutch worked on here a few days ago, and i was super impressed with these guys. If you are in need of car repair then look no further because this shop is awesome. I will never fear taking my car the the mechanic again because I finally found a place I can trust to do excellent work at a very fair price. I will never go ANYWHERE else. There is a reason they have a 5 star rating. They earned that 5 star, and they deserve it.

Very nice people. Honest, dependable and friendly. Pete is great! I discovered them when I was living in Cedar Park. have moved to Austin and I will continue to take my car to these guys whenever needed. Recently, starter seemed a bit flaky. I took my car without any appointment. Pete personally checked the car for almost 30 minutes. In the end, instead of selling anything, he told me that starter was passing all the diagnostic tests! That’s a change for an auto mechanic to genuinely caring for the customer rather than getting money out of them. Especially knowing that he could’ve told me any thing and I would’ve gotten the work done. It’s very refreshing and comforting to know an honest, reliable and competent mechanic. You can trust these guys. The shop is not fancy like many dealership but the work and people are 1000% better than those fancy shops.

Finally! A great, local mechanic that can be trusted! I’ve been searching for someone like Pete for months now. I live in South Austin and the drive up is totally worth it.
I took my car in for a throttle sensor issue, along with a broken window motor. Pete cleaned the throttle sensor and included it in the $ 89 check engine diagnostic test. He then ordered my window motor and it came in the next day, sooner than expected. He even repaired it quicker than he estimated.
Here’s where Pete REALLY set himself apart from the others-​when his guys were taking apart my door they accidentally scratched my window tint. He said he would have it fixed but it was pretty minor and you couldn’t even notice when the window is closed so I said it wasn’t a big deal. The next morning I received a call from Pete that after sleeping on it he really wasn’t comfortable with me driving around with the tint scratched. He insisted «that’s not the way it was when you gave it to us so we need to fix it.» He let me take it to anywhere I wanted, and I dropped off the receipt and he cut me a check on the spot! Customer service like this is SO RARE in the mechanic world so Advanced Automotive is so refreshing!

Great independently owned local automotive shop. We use these guys for work and they usually have our vehicles out the same day. Would recommend.

Pete and his staff are excellent mechanics. I won’t go anywhere else for repairs because they are honest and skilled at what they do. I recommend that you stop looking now and just go here. You won’t be disappointed!

As a woman, having car problems is a major stressor for me. I was stranded and looked on Unilocal who was around me. Called this place b/​c it was rated highly, crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. Thank goodness — Pete and his nice, reliable staff lived up to the 5 stars. I now have a place I can regularly call and depend on. What a relief! Thank goodness for trustworthy people!

I reviewed these guys awhile ago but have to do it again! Pete and his crew treat every customer like family. Take your vehicle here for honest advice and excellent work at very fair prices. Pete is a great mechanic! He showed me what was happening to my battery. They don’t charge for silly things. And give you options for how to fix any situation.

The most honest mechanics I have ever known. Pete the owner runs a great shop. His crew is very friendly and helpful. I can depend on them to get my car fixed and I don’t have to mortgage my home to pay for it.

My husband went here and got his car fixed. Then I went here also. Pete is super nice and very understanding. He gave us both reasonable rates and our cars are running great. He did both of our inspections too! Would def recommend everyone to go here.

These guys are the most honest folks around. For the first time in my life I have not felt like a mechanic is trying to up-​sell me the universe when getting an oil change.
