For the longest time, I saw this place and totally assumed it was something else. For some reason, I thought it was a store for winter clothing or something. Ha! Didn’t make sense for being in Austin. The Dollar store is amazing. I’m a hero when I make a special trip with the kids and give them 2 – 3 dollars. However, dollar store toys break within 20 minutes of purchase. However, Five Below quality is way better… Every time I go, I find cool little«finds.» Love this place.

So the cashier rings all of my stuff up. My son and I are standing there and its like 145.00 worth of stuff she says. «This was not up there» yes I reply and she said«no it wasn’t» the way she sounded I had just put it up there. Then she says well I know I didn’t ring it up. I say okbi think you did but let’s check the receipt and see. She says no I know rings it up and then says that’s 150. I am in uniform I am not going to steal 10.0 worth of stuff and you could have checked. No your right and you made me really angry acting as if I am a the if. Have fun putting it all back oh and I will never shop here again. Rude service.

Like Errol, I totally thought this was another frozen yogurt place, so I never gave it a second thought until I read some article about it being a discount store. I popped in one day to investigate some inexpensive activities and crafts for the kids to keep them occupied while we ate dinner. Not trying to get all cheap, but I found myself thinking, «Five bucks?!?» and mournfully regretted my decision for not going to the Dollar Tree. Pretty sure I overpaid for those darn foam swords but I’ll tell you what… they totally won me over with their Crayola Dry Erase Crayons! Those things are ah-mazing! They write on skin, windows and pretty much everything but they completely clean off. Great for window art. Tip: If you do find yourself in the market for dry erase crayons, both the 8 pack and 16 pack are $ 5, so go for the 16 pack!

Okay, am I the only person who thought this was another froyo store? Bring a kid in here and let them go nuts. When I say«kid,» I’m not just referring to someone’s chronological status. Okay, thanks. ************************ (Editor’s note: Errol M has already submitted his 600th Unilocal review, which he calls, «Best and the Brightest III.» He’s very excited to see it posted. However, that’s not going to happen until he completes three new reviews, which may explain why he’s sending us this drivel.)

This store is very similar to Dollar Tree. All items are $ 5.00 and below. They had nice cell phone covers, stereo headphones, clothing, candy, workout gear and much more. It’s worth checking out. Very friendly employees too.

This place is dangerous for teachers… so many things that are great for classrooms, lessons, and prizes for the kids! I like to mosey around and look at everything because you never know what you will find. Their containers and decorations are awesome and the candy section is huge! Also the really tall manager guy is SONICE and has helped me get stuff that I couldn’t reach on occasion– he’s always visibly helping customers or making sure the store looks great which I think is really cool.

This place now has mu business because of it’s wonderful customer service. My first time there I was greeted by a young man when I entered. My husband and I looked around for a bit and after a little while found the T-shirt section. 5 dollar Austin and Texas T-shirts, um yes please! While going to check out a women and her young daughter dropped a perfume bottle. Even after the women offered to pay for it, the manager, told her absolutely not. He then asked a staff member to clean it and helped the line of people now waiting to check out. Great customer service, great place for kids and actually some pretty cool things.

I was skeptical of a «five dollar store» but after shopping there a few times I’m definitely a fan. Everything in the store is $ 5 or less and they have quite a variety of things. Toys, makeup, accessories, books, workout gear, puzzles, t-shirts, socks, movies(good movies, and blu-ray too), pool toys for the summer, games like the Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock dice game, headphones and cell phone covers, greeting cards, candy, plus Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns gear. I could go on and on. Name brands too, like Neutrogena and Aveeno. I stopped in yesterday to pick up some fun items to send to a friend. I was able to get a book of crosswords, a Trivial Pursuit card game, a deck of regular playing cards, and two boxes of movie theater candy for $ 6 plus tax. But seriously, the candy aisle… Things you’ve never heard of, or forgot you’d heard of. Now and Laters, Blow Pops, and Laffy Taffy in flavors I’d never seen before! Mike and Ikes in 4+ flavors! Lemonheads(and appleheads and cherryheads say wha?)! Crybabies! Pocky, sunflower seeds in lots of flavors, Big League Chew gum in original, grape, watermelon, AND sour apple. I mean, it’s the absolute best part of the store if you’re into candy. There are even Peeps popsicles. I find that revolting, but maybe you’re a fan, idunno. I highly recommend you take a minute or twenty and just walk around the store. There’s no way to list everything that they sell, and it’s fun to peruse. This is also a great place to get toys for kids’ birthdays or to just stop in for a quick item you need when the grocery store or Walmart may be a madhouse.

Seriously, Simon Malls replaced a Hallmark shop with this? WTF? Dollar Tree is nicer than this place. Just a fancy import for cheap made in china crap.
