Yes, I am a bit(okay, waaaaaay) out of PacSun’s target market age bracket, but I will never outgrow my love for surf and skate classics like Roxy and Vans. In the past, PC also had lots of cute non-brand accessories that were both affordable and cute. Not so much anymore. I used to be really into surf-wear and culture(I lived on the beach in Florida), and I remember brands like Hurley and Billabong being«pricey» — but wowza — inflation! $ 85 for a Rip Curl women’s cardigan; Men’s hoodies from $ 60 – 85! No wonder the teen’s, who was in front of me in line, credit/debit card was denied. Merp. The store has some pretty good sales going on at all times. For example, right now there is some merchandise that is «buy three, get two free.» I guess that’s great if you want FIVE fashion hats priced at an average of 35 bucks each(still over $ 100 plus tax for marginal quality). I visited the store to purchase a particular hat(adorbs small felt floppy perfect for winter and fall) I spotted right before the holidays; however, it was not included in the deal. Even if it were, I am certain I could not have found four other hats I liked over would have been willing to spend the dough on. So, yeah, I bought my $ 36 generic hat(and score, forgot that I had been carrying a PC gift card around in my wallet for over two years, so it only cost me about $ 9 o-o-p), but didn’t buy anything else. This particular location is pretty well stocked and the young staff were both really friendly and helpful, even though it was obvious one was in training she still did a great job so snaps for customer service. From now on, I think I’ll let the kiddos with big allowances or the ones that work to shop(I am very familiar with this tactic) remain the major spenders at PC. Plus, I noticed they carry a «Kendall & Kyle» line… for me that was definitely a sign. The only PacSun I’ll be seeing anytime soon is when I’m visiting the West Coast. «If in doubt, paddle out.»
