Wonderful selection! We finally decided on martinis for the evening and chose Blaum Bros Gin from Galena, Ill. The staff were knowledgable and provided details about Blaum Bros Distillery distillery.

Holy beer selection! If you can’t find your drink of choice here, I’d be shocked. In addition to the adult beverages, Benz offers a wide array of gourmet snacks, meats and cheeses. ³⁄₅ because the customer service here is lacking at times and parking is a pain in a$$ (small lot and difficult to navigate around big, bulky delivery trucks). I kind of get the ’ I’m better than you’ ‘tude from employees when I walk though the door. I’m happy to shop any of the 6+ Hy-​Vee stores in the area and get friendly service.

Terrible customer service. Cashier made rude comments to our party as we entered the store and was also extremely rude throughout checkout, even going so far as to throw something on the floor. We later found the same alcohol at the grocery store for cheaper. Don’t go here unless you want to be insulted and spend more money.

This place is amazing! They have a great selection of wine, liquor, beer as well as meats, cheeses, crackers, spreads, and pastas. I am here almost every other month stocking up on great beer and wine. The prices are better here than at my local grocer and there is much more of a selection. They also carry a few home brew items such as hops, malt, barley, sanitizing and botteling equipment. This is also a great place to shop for gift wine because the staff here is rather knowledgeable about the wines they sell and are great with assisting you in finding something the giftee will enjoy and not throw away ha!

The best place in the area to go for your bevs! Between the knowledgeable, laid back service to the super impressive selection, Benz is top notch. Our first visit was generously spent browsing. BF and I both found a bev we’d been on the lookout for, but weren’t able to find at any other places (yes, even John’s Grocery didn’t have the beer he was looking for!) and I found a «special edition» Absolut Brooklyn vodka (ginger and red apple flavor) as well as one of my other favorites: Van Gogh Double Espresso vodka… yummm.
The deli counter was enticing as well as their specialty/​gourmet items. Definitely plan on going back often and would love to go to a tasting. It’s a convenient downtown location i. e no parking meters!

Though Johns Grocery in IC may have them beat on the beer.
They also host many tastings and events. So make sure and check them out. Typically pay like $ 10 and try it all. I think they do Thur night ladys night out tastings/​party still.
Must check out their food selections too, the nice hard to get items.
As well as their new deli counter, fresh meats and cheeses and goodies. I was so glad to see this as I typically have to drive into DSM to Graziano Bro’s Italian grocery store for some of these things.
Knowledgeable staff, and if you are looking for something (or something special) stop at Benz.

Benz is stocked with some of the best wine and beer selections you will ever find. They also have some great specialty food items you won’t find elsewhere; we got some andouille sausage from here for gumbo I made at Christmas.
If you are looking for a unique gift for that special someone or something to bring as a host (ess) gift, you really should make this your first stop.
I’ve never been to any of them, but they also sponsor lots of events like wine and scotch tastings, which you can find out their latest offerings by way of their e-​mail newsletter.
