Not bad food, but man this place is filthy. Tables, buffet line, menus, seats, floor — all could use a good cleaning. Last several times we’ve been — same thing. Even the check holder was filthy. Didn’t want to touch it.

It’s such a shame. We were so upset. We got to the restaurant the food bar was a disaster. There was food spilledeverywhere nothing was filled and no one cared They said yeah we know the guy in the back is supposed to do it. We will never be going back there again!

Genghis grills are by far the best Mongolian bbq I have ever found. Sadly the nearest one to me is currently 2 hours away from me. I have found they have the best sauces and best selection of food to put into your mixes. Also unlike many other Mongolian bbq joints they have seafood available all day every day, and a great variety of starches to have your bbq over. The service is always good, and I also enjoy the fact that they have a rewards program that get you free bowls of bbq.

Sign on door says they are open until 11pm on Fridays. Walked up to the door on Friday night at 9:50pm and it was locked. People were in eating. Guy at bar looked at us but quickly looked away. Very rude and not good reflection on the business, that’s for sure.

I used to love this place when it first opened, now it is one of the worst restaurants in town. Let’s start with the basics. The food quality is awful; the meat looks like it has been sitting out at room temperature for hours and rivals that of the prison industries in appearance and taste. But even that doesn’t matter much because the cooks can’t cook stir fry. The last three or four times I’ve been in, my stir fry is burnt. How do you burn stir fry??? It’s the easiest possible thing to cook! When your food is done, you get to see it placed on a counter and have to wait for one of the inattentive staff to get done chatting and finally bring it to you. The staff here are listless and couldn’t care less; they barely even go through the motions of trying to upsell you. Is there even a manager on staff here any more? If so, he’s doing his job as well as the cooks and servers are doing theirs. Another thing that bugs me — there have been a ton of changes over the years; for some reason, they keep changing the process on how you order/get your food. Not sure why — other restaurants of this type have done it the same way for decades. The most bizarre thing is they use bowl sizes now instead of being all you can eat. This is literally the only Mongolian BBQ I’ve ever been to that wasn’t all you can eat and they charge a fortune for one small bowl(and whatever you do, don’t order the small-plate sized but full-sized price desserts or drinks). Also, don’t bother with the«appetizers», if you are lucky they might come out before you are done eating your meal. The lousy GG on the NE side closed a little while back. Judging by the four whole tables they had on Saturday night, I’m assuming this one will be closed soon too. That once would have made me a little sad, but not now. I don’t think I’ll be back either way.

First time visitor tonight. Completely underwhelmed. I’ve been to a few different restaurants of this style and this by far was one of the worst. I didn’t like the way the food bar was set up — they were 3 – 4 containers deep so if you tried to get something from the back it would spill in the containers in the front. This caused a lot of cross contamination. It was messy too — food was all over the place. Also, they were out of their ‘signature’ sauce. They did have a lot of options to choose from, which was nice. Even with the food bar messy, my food was good… because I picked it out and seasoned it. Also, there is a sign by the grill that says«please tip your cook and server» or something to that effect. That REALLY rubs me the wrong way. Tipping is for service, not an expectation. Service was fine, I guess — not super friendly, not rude… just…fine. Not only that, but I am tipping a cook to throw something on a grill and a server to bring me a drink? For that, I’d tip the standard amount, but I shouldn’t have to see a stupid sign in a restaurant to tell me to do so.

Sauce dishes weren’t exactly clean. Was first time visitor, no suggested spice mix, which made for a bland meal. Fresh ingredients, though, good portions. We had a party of 7, and the last dish was delivered as the first person was finishing their food. People have quite a reach to the ingredients in the back, which means high likelihood of ingredients spilling into other ingredients.

I love Edgewood Genghis. It has fantastic customer service, the staff is super friendly, and also asks if I have been there before and willing to show me how to go through the line, the guys at the grill are super nice and have always made my foodies just how I want it done(onions carmalized meat burnt) and made a Mac and cheese bowl for my toddler when I had no idea what to make him. It’s a super clean environment and love coming here with my family!

Right off the bat, this place seemed dirty to me. Flies buzzed around the serving line, and trust me when I tell you – that is NOT what you want to see when you’re getting ready to choose from a variety of raw meats. More importantly, I tend to judge a table service restaurant by how well they treat my son. I admit it – I’m a proud papa who thinks the sun rises and sets with his own towheaded kid, and while I completely respect the fact that not everyone will find him as adorable as I do(even though he IS perfectly behaved for a seven-year-old…or at least, I think he is :), I still expect servers to make just a modicum of a fuss over him when we’re out and about. At least smile at him when you take his order, or bring him a kid’s colorable menu, that kind of thing – is that too much to ask? Well, at this location, clearly it was. The guy working the grill was sullenly unenthused about my kid’s exuberance over the unique grilling method Genghis utilizes, and the waitress could not have been more bored by his one question about the serving line. Moreover, the host was a «greeter» in name only – he did not acknowledge us either upon entry or departure. In a remarkable coincidence, I was unable to acknowledge the«Tip» line on the receipt before leaving. Look, the food isn’t at all bad here; under the right set of circumstances, it might even be deemed«good». But for the prices they charge and the complete lack of customer service they provide, their fare would have to be a heck of a lot better than«good» for me to even consider a return visit. We won’t be back.

We heard about this place through a guy we know. He raved about how much better it is than Hu Hot. So randomly we decided to drive 2 hours and go out to eat there. When we arrived, we were greeted at the front and decided to get a drink at the bar while we waited for our table. The bar tender didn’t greet us and there were no drink menus on the bar top. About 5 minutes later, a couple sat down on the opposite side of the bar and were immediately greeted and their drink orders were taken… we had to interrupt the bartender to get a drink menu. Once he was done making their drinks, he came to us and we ordered our drinks. My boyfriend didn’t like his drink so I ordered him something SIMPLE… a strawberry daquiri… AWFULLLLLLLLLL…had huge chunks that kept getting stuck everytime he tried to drink out of the straw, flavor was terrible, and the texture was just like a drink on the rocks(but it was made with the blender). Once we were seated, our waitress walked by us about 5 times before stopping at our table to ask us if she could help us… we had NEVER been there before and didn’t know what exactly we were supposed to do. So, finally we went to make our dishes with a tiny silver bowl. The hostess came with our food and asked us how long we had been there because she felt like we had been there a while, I told her we had been sitting there for a while waiting for the waitress because we didnt know how everything worked there. She apologized and explained everything and even told us about how they offer tortillas, cheese, etc… so she got us what we needed. She was the best part of our visit because she made us feel not so confused! Our waitress was standing at a table most of the time just talking away with her friend, boyfriend, whatever he was. She would come to check on us every so often, but honestly… not impressed at all. My boyfriend hadnt even finished his food and was still chewing when she came over and asked if he wanted a box. Then, we got the bill…9.99 for one bowl… a tiny silver bowl… that’s expensive for that kind of service. We will not be back unless you hire a more experienced bartender, and some much more informative, attentive staff.

We really enjoy going here. Everyone can find something to eat, even my vegetarian wife! It is a little more pricey, especially if you don’t do the unlimited bowls deal.

Genghis Grill is decent — to me it’s infinitely better than Hu-Hot — but the meat has such a strange texture. Also, the pricing is a little high for the quality of food that you receive.

Not Korean at all. What you do is build your own bowl, it’s that simple. You add what you like to it and leave out the VEGGIES you hated as a kid. Take your creation to the folks and watch them cook it or take a seat at your table and wait for your food to arrive. If you have smaller children they may get a kick out of watching the cooks. Full bar if you choose to dtink the malty drinks. Service is always good. Don’t forget your Kahn card, free bowls after 10 I think. Enjoy!!!

I don’t go here very often because it’s kind of pricey… but if I’ve got the money or it’s a speical occassion… I love this place!!! Treat yourself and go to Genghis Grill. Keep in mind if you chose the endless option you can not take your leftovers home… so bring your appetite! You’ll be so glad you did! Make sure and tip the cook to hear the Gong!

Normally, I don’t really like this kind of restaurant. I go out to eat because I can’t think of something to make at home. At Genghis Grill I am now both out to eat and can’t figure out what to eat. They do have a few options that you can follow down the line and create, but they are hard to follow. It’s one of those restaurants that you need to frequent to really know what’s going on. I am not a fan of these types of restaurants. One plus is that you can decide how much food you get. Want just a little, only put a little in your bowl. Want more, get another bowl. I’ll probably go back, but it won’t be my first choice.

This place is great! I can be a little tricky because you make your own bowl then they cook it for you, I suggest making small bowls and going back and trying different mixes over and over till you can’t eat anymore. If you do that then when you go back you know what to make or try next time.

Build your own stir fry. Everyone gets what they want, seasoned how they want, and you can super stack a bowl so you can get 2 meals from it. How can you go wrong with that? Both north and south side locations could stand a few more TVs, or at least better placed ones. The tables are well spaced so you aren’t banging elbows with anyone and both my kids love the food. Its a little pricey for a single meal, but its pretty healthy. 4 stars

(silent hesitation…) um…well… you walk in and get a metal bucket to slop your food in. raw meat(is this legal?) make your bowl of schtuff and some guy grabs it from you and throws it all over the big grill without a care of mixing any one else’s weird schtuff with your own schtuffs– pitching bowls all over the nasty floor… i donnno– it felt like elevated dog food to me…

I miss this too — I really love it — not sure why — it’s kind of expensive — especially for lunch — but it’s a fun place to go and soooo tasty!
