This place was the worst buffet we’ve eaten at. We showed up at 2:30pm and were not informed that they would stop refilling the buffet after being there for only 10 minutes. They have minimal options and the food wasn’t very good at all. One waitress had her kid there who was screaming and running around the whole time with no concern for the paying customers. The same waitress also brought us our ticket after being there for only 15 minutes which was a bit rude. Will never eat here again.

Super small buffet selection. Came here for lunch and a separate time for dinner. Not impressed. The lo mein was spaghetti pasta noodles with soy sauce! Seriously? ! And the time I went there were 3 girls, who seemed to be sisters bussing the tables, causing a raucous and being obnoxious with each other. They were also terribly dressed and very trashy with no consideration for the patrons eating there. Terrible atmosphere, ridiculous staff… and again with the spaghetti… I was disgusted.

Well, I was disappointed by a few things… Service: We had a party of four and sat at a table that had space for four. As soon as everyone was done with their first serving we piled up the plates and they sat in our way for what seemed like half of our dinner. The family that runs the place sat and ate while our table was too clogged by our dirty dishes that it made us not want to get more food. We also had to ask for every refill except one and that was my water. — 1 star Food: Overall the food was just okay. Maybe it was an off night, but most of the meats were pretty luke warm and pretty unsatisfying. I ate a little bit of everything and it all seemed that way. I wonder if their kitchen meals off the menu are any better. The bill for two with a soda was about $ 21.00. I feel I may have over paid by $ 5.00 bucks. — 2 stars Location: They are centrally located and it was pretty clean. — 3 stars

Considerably smaller selection than the other buffet paces in town. One long dining room with the buffet in the center makes for a communal dining feel. Hope you don’t mind hearing about Tom’s last stint in jail while you eat. Who’s Tom, you ask? I really can’t say, never actually met him, but I heard all about his last meth bust as I ate gamey sesame chicken. I sympathized with him as he told his side of the fight he had with his cell mate, munching on mostly tasteless mushroom pork. The agony of an infected jail tat was explained in detail while I noisily chomped on some crab rangoon that was mostly cream cheese. My eating didnt seem to bother him; he was on the ither side of the room, after all. I guess what I mean to say that there isn’t much privacy. And the food is standard buffet quasi Chinese stuff, really unexceptional in every way. I guess they do takeout by weight of the stuff you’ve dumped into the box. Place had a weird vibe to it, and they use the massive industrial size ladles and spoons you’d find in a large service kitchen. Service was nice and fast. As far as going back… I wouldn’t NOT, but if you’re closer to another buffet place, go there instead. $ 10 adult dinner buffet splits the price to selection ratio but just barely, and you can only hope to have a neighbor as articulate as Tom was for entertainment.

My favorite Chinese buffet in town. In fact the only one left I will even go to. I love the egg drop soup there.

I have eaten here many times over the years. I don’t think they have changed the buffet items at all in that time. Sometimes I like that because I can always go back and get what I want. My favorite thing there is the egg drop soup. One of my son’s likes the crab rangoons. Mushroom chicken, broccoli beef are also good. The peanut chicken and terriyaki strips were always favorites when my boys were teens. It is not gourmet food, but the lo mein is quite good, fried rice can be dry at times so I eat the white rice from the steamer kettles. They don’t have a lot of vegetarian friendly food on the buffet. I have seen others complain about the staff, but whenever I have gone the owners wife has served us and she is very nice although, sometimes I don’t think she understands everything we say. The owner is also a very nice, friendly man. Others mentioned a minimum to use credit card. I have gone and had a $ 10 ticket and was able to use debit card to pay with no issues. It is very reasonably priced without an overload of options on the buffet and the atmosphere is great. My kids always liked the giant paintings when they were younger.

We came for dinner tonight and were turned away at the door. Despite the fact that their listed hours said that they closed at 8, they refused to serve us when we arrived at 7:35. I say«refused» because they were very rude and abrupt. It was just two of us, so if wasn’t even like they were turning away a big party that they didn’t have the food to serve. I could see that there was still food steaming in the buffet and other customers eating. If they weren’t planning to replenish the buffet, they could have still given us the option to see what was currently on the buffet and decide for ourselves of we wanted to stay. Instead they very rudely turned us away at the door. I don’t see how they stay in business if that is how they define«customer service».

This is one restaurant that has clearly declined over the last 6 or 8 years. I am not inclined to go back even though I have eaten there several times a month and have ordered carry out dozens more times. The first thing that began annoying me was when they elected to put a minimum of $ 13 in order to use a credit card. When I am dining alone or ordering carryout, there is no way my bill is going to be $ 13 and I seldom bother to carry more than a few dollars in cash. The sign they had posted by the cash register is now gone and I have not yet bothered to see if they changed their faulty policy or not. The second annoyance is their carryout service. I used to call in an order several times a month. I would be told that it would be ready in a certain amount of time. Usually this time ranged from 10 – 20 minutes. No matter what time I arrive, the food is never ready and in many instances it has not even been started in the quoted amount of time. The most recent incidence was this past week. I was told 20 minutes. I arrived in 18 minutes and stayed in my car listening to something on the radio for a few more minutes. I went in and the man that cooks was just arriving with his kid. I went in and waited at the front for my food. The man looked out of the kitchen and said he was starting my order now and he knew it was taking longer than they said. My response was that it doesn’t really matter because they are always late. He mutter something about having to pick up his kid. That is all well and good, however you need to have someone that can cook while you are gone. Third is the buffet quality. The food is far poorer than it used to be. One example is the black pepper chicken. I have never eaten something so consistently salty in my life. They do not do a very good job at stocking the steam table as was witnessed by one customer who had more than a few words to say to her server last time I was in. They tend to leave food a little too long and if you are not there when the food is put out, it gets very dried out. Fourth is the white trash waitresses that they now have on staff. I really do not need to hear two servers running around bitching about customers and how they are doing that job for their health. One even had the nerve to tell her friend that every customer should leave her $ 3 minimum because she is only working their to support her 8 month old. This big, fat nasty creature was poured into a wifebeater and had fat rolls hanging out. She wasn’t even remotely dressed properly for the job.

This is my favorite lunch spot. The peanut chicken is rediculously awesome, and everything on the buffet is kept fresh(although the selection is not huge). Great service, even when they get really busy. Just make sure you bring cash as there is a $ 12 minimum charge for plastic.

Think of this restaurant as a buffet version of Panda Express. That being said, it does have a much smaller selection of food compare to Metro and Green Leaves, but you can find all the essentials you need. There are plenty of vegetables and fruits around as well, just no sushi. I do recommend everyone to try their Crab Rangoon, it is probably the best in Cedar Rapids. Service is great, price is really good considering it’s a buffet. Around $ 8 for dinner, and that’s on the weekends. They also have a carry-out menu, and the carry-out buffet is an interesting option. You pay around $ 4 for each pound of food, definitely worth a try. Will come back often for this place.

It’s a buffet, so that being said when you get there before noon, the food is all really fresh and good! Probably the most consistent buffet in town. If you go there after the food has been sitting out for a while, you might not like it as much. I really like the crab rangoons, but don’t care for their eggrolls. If you want the buffet option to try a little bit of everything, it’s consistently good, and there is enough steam table turn over that nothing sits there for too long.

As mentioned, it’s a Chinese buffet, so don’t expect gourmet. Have eaten here several times, and the food is hit-and-miss. Why do I keep going back? Because when it hits… it really hits. It is better more often than not, albeit something of a gamble. Love the peanut chicken, mushroom chicken, and so on. Service is friendly. Prices good.

It’s a chinese buffet so I hope no one going here is expecting gourmet food or anything. That being said I did like going here. For the price it’s everything you would need in a buffet. This was one of my favorite lunch spots.

This is my favorite Chinese Buffet in Cedar Rapids, I like it much better than either Metro Buffet or Pei’s(which I can’t stand.) I usually go here for lunch and find the buffet to be well maintained, with entrees that are freshly prepared and always hot. I like the peanut chicken and the crispy pork the best, but almost all the other entrees are also very good. It is reasonably priced for lunch($ 6.10 with hot tea.) Definitely a hit for a quick and delicious lunch.
