Lone Star Steakhouse

Probably the worst place in town. Terrible service, half ass food and Piss poor management. Sadly a long time ago I use to enjoy this place but I don’t think you could pay me to return.

Pass on this place. Place was empty and our appatizer came out cold. Salad never came. Bacon wrapped around my sirloin was raw. Side on plate was wrong. Do yourself a favor and keep on driving far away from here.

Loved the food. I definitely recommend the New York Strip from here, it was cooked just the way I like it. My boyfriend loved his food as well, no complaints! The service was great and the wait was almost nonexistent. Our server was attentive and genuinely nice, can’t wait to go back!

Gross, overpriced but good service. All their cuts of meat have such a high fat content that their meat to fat ratio let’s you have so little of an actual steak to be able to enjoy it. Pricey and greasy. Bernie sauce was really disgusting and place is pretty outdated.

Don’t go here. Go to Outback or Red Robin, but don’t go here. The service was awful. The server we had clearly didn’t want to be there, waiting on us. She gave a bit of attitude off the bat when we declined the lemonade. The food was woefully under seasoned. I took the tomatoes from my spouse, salted and peppered them and put it in my side salad to spruce it up. I don’t know what they were trying to pass for ribeye on my plate, but that was not a ribeye steak. Again, not seasoned. When asked about dessert, we declined and our server muttered as she was walking away, «of course not». Um, what?! Also, don’t use the bathroom, unless you like to pee in a place where there is feces all over the stall wall and door. When I told the manager all she said was, «Sorry.» If I could give negative stars, I would. This place is a health hazard with pissy servers.

This place is really hit or miss. and for me it seems every time I go its a miss. Last time I was at this place was about a year or two ago for my moms birthday cause she use to like this place. they messed up then too. every time I go they over cook the meat or under cook the meat. and it doesn’t seem to mater what kind of meat i get. be it a steak or a burger it always seems to be wrong. or they forget an order. or mix them up. Today my house mates and I decided to hit up lone star during down time so that they wouldn’t be so busy. and they over cooked two of my mates stakes TWICE. and so they ordered rare instead of medium rare thinking that since they keep over cooking their medium rare that the rare would in fact come back to them as medium rare. but NOPE it was under cooked even for a rare stake it was under cooked. they finally decided to just let it alone and they took their steaks home when we left to cook later. I ordered a burger and ordered medium-​medium well and it ended up being well done and to the point where the meat was really dry. I mentioned it to the waitress but since I already ate half of it before i really noticed how dry it was i just let it go. what really set me off tho was how my mates meals ended up being botched and we spent so much time there and all they filled up on really was sides and dinner rolls. pretty crappy. The only thing I can say is that the waitress was really awesome. It did seem like she was getting a little irritated but more so at the kitchen than with us. The rolls are still really awesome. and I quite like their chicken wings. but unfortunately I do not think I could come back to this place and order steak or burgers. even tho its a steak house. their cooks obviously do not know the difference between raw-​rare-​medium rare-​medium — medium well — well done and over done. Their cooks need to go back to the training line.

Had a business lunch here last week. Was fantastic. The service was attentive, but not overpowering. My sirloin was so tender and delicious.

Very average… had to get our drinks from the bar after waiting for 20 minutes. Other than that the food was decent. Young and dumb staff, don’t expect much from the waiters. Over priced food for mediocre service. Buyer beware.

The Delmonico steaks are unbelievable.

We have been there about a half dozen times, and every time it was a disaster.
First time there my sister in law found hair in her salad… Next time all of our orders were wrong and cold…
While the help has always been nice, their attention to detail has been an issue almost everytime… last time my wife and I went, others came in after us and got served well before us… to the point I had to ask when could we expect our food, and the manager came out and told me they were OUT of steaks!
How can a steak house be out of steaks?
Never again.
Texas Roadhouse, Outback. etc are all better options.

If anyplace aspires to be average, Lone Star Steakhouse is it. They seem to go out of their way to be «#2». Everything they do is merely acceptable, and nothing they do is extraordinary. (Probably right up Cedar Rapids alley, if ya know what I mean)
Anyway, the steaks are good, though not great. As are their appetizers. No complaints there. Side dishes are average. They used to have a sweet potato casserole side dish that was to die for, but it must have not met with the ‘average’ goal because it it was discontinued.
I will say that their margaritas are better than Texas Road House, but that’s it.
Service and prices are decent.
In their all-​out quest for average, they used to have (still might) a lunch program where you could get a free lunch after filling the card. Problem was, if two people had lunch, you couldn’t get your card punched twice. Per the manager’s policy you could only get two cards punched once each, regardless who was paying for both meals. In other words, they really didn’t want you to get your free meal if they could in any way avoid it. I’m sorry, but that’s just poor customer service.

Hands down this place is way better then Texas road house! They have buckets of peanuts, dinner rolls with great butter! They have 2 for $ 20 two witch is an appetizer and two full entrees not they whole menu but there is 20 entrees to choose from and only three appetizers to choose from.
I’m going to come here more ofter for the fact that I have never had a bad experince here like I have numerous times at other places. The food and service has always been good and its cheaper then other steak houses in Cedar Rapids! They also have pretty good happy hour specials.
