I love the fish selection, and they have nice corals and live rocks that the national chains don’t usually carry. They also have sizes of fishtanks that the national stores don’t have. The man who helped me looked a little rough around the edges but was ultimately very nice and knowledgeable. Had a very good experience despite the very loud, screaming bird.

Buyer Beware: Puppy mill! We have a certain interest in a particular breed of dog. When my daughter told me this breed was at this pet store, I immediately went to visit. This was the ugliest dog of this breed I had ever seen. She and her brother were just plain ugly. They were advertised as «toy» but they were actually «mini» which means they will get a lot bigger than advertised. We waited and waited. After 6 months, the female puppy had not been sold. I was fretting about her possibly going back to the puppy mill breeder to be bred because she was close to getting her menstrual cycle at this age. She had been at this pet store for almost 5 months! We «rescued» her and immediately took her to Iowa Alliance to get spayed. We have had several dogs of this particular breed, I can tell you because she was in a cage for 5 months, she had no manners in dog socialization: she would go into our other dog’s food bowl, crawl over his head (dominating gesture and he snapped at her, she didn’t seem to realize this was what she was doing), very nervous, every time we raised our hand to pet her/​she would shy away as if she had been hit, difficulty in potty training, leash training, and sit/​down/​stay puppy training, not trusting of humans. While she was at the pet store for 5 months, the staff did not even bother to teach her basic skills such as leash training, sit/​stay/​come, and people socialization. Also, this dog’s tail had been cut too short according to our groomer. Her nails were too long and her ears were full of hair. Please do not give this store any of your hard earned monies by supporting the puppy mills. I looked up the breeder of this dog and he is a known puppy mill breeder. I feel bad for the puppy’s parents, probably somewhere in a dark garage in cages with no human interaction but being used as puppy machines.

I can’t be happier with my Dog that I bought from this place, the workers seems to care that the dog was going to a good home. My puppy looked like he had been over feed and didn’t get any exersize and the prices for everything we got for my puppy seemed a little high.
They get 5 stars because I love my dog so much. but they lose some stars for prices and cleanleness. They do have a selection of mainly fish and some other pets.
