Old, dirty and wondering why I’m staying here! Booked online should’ve known better. …pictures not what they appear. Staff lounging in common area as though their guests and there’s a lot of them. .very noisey.

Everyone is friendly, but why is housekeeping living here? The room was ok, but the outside is run down. WiFi is slow, the place is not some where I will ever stay again. glad I wasn’t paying for this.

I think this place is OK as far as a discount/low price motel is concerned. The staff was really nice and helpful when the so-called travel agent said our room was reserved and it wasn’t since they had no contract with Red Roof Inn. Good thing they had rooms available when we arrived so that turned out OK. Rooms are old and a little decrepit. The complimentary continental breakfast is sparse — coffee, juice, toast, english muffins, apples. But WTH, its free! Good parking spaces with lots of room.

The staff was friendly and they had good parking in the back if your pulling a trailer. Our room was nice like any other red roof inn except it smelled musty and I noticed in our windowsill was moldy and had some decay. I asked about the continental breakfast I was told by the staff that they had bagels, English muffins and this week cinnamon bread along with fruits. So was very disappointed when I chose to stay to eat the breakfast as all they had to eat was plain wheat bread and some apples. Not really a good way to start your day traveling. We were down stairs half hour after they opened so it wasn’t that we came out late. So we had to stop at the gas station for some donuts as that’s all that was available.

The manager was very unprofessional. She was talking a lot of junk about someone using their towels to die their hair. She was mad that she had to clean them out. She was talking to a coworker outside smoking a cigarette when I walked by. She called the person everything under the sun. She did not stop the conversation when I walked by, but kept ranting and raving. I was thinking to myself, where was the sign that said what the towels can and can not be used for??? Did I miss something? Needless to say, I was the idiot that died my hair and I don’t feel remorseful because her job got a little harder. I am enraged that she allowed me to hear it without even knowing it was me. If I was a lesser person I would have smacked the shit out of her for the things she was saying. Is it common practice for the workers to talk about the customers in their presence… Whether I was wrong or right I shouldn’t have heard about it…

Group of 5 adults with 3 rooms. We picked this because it was close to JP Cycles as well as on our way home from Sturgis. We agreed easy and quick was the way to go after a day of riding before the next day of riding. We checked it and it took so long because the 2 receptionists were chatting non stop with a couple before us. I was holding my gear the entire time. After we all got checked in. We went up to our rooms. 2 were old meldew smelly and reeked of smoke. We exchanged the one couple’s non smoking but reeks of smoke room to another one closer to the rest of us. The man opened up the door to the new room only to find a man sitting on his bed in the dark. He went down to exchange the room for another room. Third time is a charm because they got a handicap room with a microwave and refrigerator.(This was the bed that wasn’t comfortable). Our room had red sticky stuff on the desk. We went down to the heated outside pool which was warm and relaxing. The receptionists had to get more towels because there weren’t any there. It was well lit at 9pm and calm. We asked the receptionist for help since not one of us knew the area well. We wanted a nice sit down restaurant that served adult beverages. She suggested this«restaurant someone she knows owns» across the street and parking lot or this taco place. When we got to the restaurant it turned out to be a dive bar with a woman falling out of the already opened front door asking if it was a full moon out and demanding to borrow a phone from all that was outside. The whole area was creepy. We ended up going to the Cancun restaurant just off the highway within walking distance of the hotel room(there is also a smaller cancun restaurant over by the dive bar). We had a good experience there. Good food, service, and drinks. We went back to our rooms to retire for the night. Our king sized bed was the best thing about the hotel but out of the 3 beds only 2 were comfortable. The continental breakfast had English muffins, toast, apples, coffe, applejuice and orange. The receptionist is also the cook. There was no food we went down because it was still being made. No protein. We had stayed at a red roof inn in sioux falls 2x during this trip and we had a much larger choice of selection like eggs, waffles, bagels, cereals, milk, biscuits and gravy. We ended up at Perkins for breakfast, a much better choice. They didn’t rush us to check out so that was a positive.

Found the hub of inexpensive hotels and motels here in Cedar Rapids and noticed that this location wasn’t on Unilocal yet. We decided to try our luck on this one. First impression of the room was so-so due to the mild smokey smell. Opening the window helped air he place out though. The room had one bed, a desk with a rolling chair, a larger cushioned chair and a TV with cabinets. The bathroom was cozy but worked(sink and mirror inside). The most important part of any hotel is the bed! I managed to have a good nights sleep. I must be a sound sleeper or must have been extremely exhausted because there was a big thunder storm that night. The bed was not firm and felt like a higher quality for an inexpensive hotel. This location is also right next to a highway so there will always be that extra noise. I had a good experience here. A-OK
