Found the place through & looked up their hours on that website(open until 11pm). Checked them out on trip advisor’s website too(open until 11pm). Also looked at their hours listed on Unilocal(open until 11pm). Went to Scott’s own website, & checked on their hours(open until 11pm). Each place said they were open until 11pm. Drove to Scott’s Restaurant. The big red sign over the front door said they were open until 11pm every day.(Even the menus inside the restaurant said they were open until 11pm). No customers were inside when we went in. We asked the employee who was at the front door if they were still serving dinner. She said they were open until 10pm. Since it was 9:35, we almost left. However, we chose this place BECAUSE everywhere we looked showed them to be open until 11pm… EVENTHEIROWNWEBSITEANDSIGNAGEONTHEFRONTDOOR. The server was very abrupt, gruff, and short with us. It was obvious that she was not happy that we were there. We ordered anyway(already bought the certificate). The fried cod was a dried out frozen filet on the inside, and kinda greasy breading. The corn tasted canned, and was like mush from having sat in hot water all day… it was gross. It came with a side salad that was all iceberg lettuce, with a bit of cheese, tomato, and onion. Average at best. Hubby had a large chef salad. Decent amount of meat and cheese. Daughter had a New York Strip, which she said was pretty good. A loaf of fresh warm bread & butter was served & was pretty good. Overall, the place is average at best. Because of the lousy service/attitude, we did not experience this place at its best, and it rates a «2» because of it. Could have been a low«3» if not for the bad attitude/service.

If you have/had a bad experience here with the waitstaff, I really think that’s on you. I go here probably once every two weeks and I’ve never had a bad experience with waitstaff whatsoever; and the food is always good. This is the kinda place where if you’re rude to them, they’ll probably return it back to you. Don’t like it or have problems being a civil diner? Than you’ll probably want to go somewhere else where you can harass the waitstaff and they won’t stand up for themselves. I really enjoy the staff and food at Scott’s and if you treat them right they’ll treat you right too.

Great food and really good service! Meatloaf was delicious as was the vegetable beef soup(homemade). I personally thought the meatloaf was better than Cracker Barrel.

Where do I start with my experience at Scott’s? We received rude faces and eye rolls when we walked into the almost empty restaurant with our party of 10, and it only went downhill from there. The waitress(who wasn’t wearing a nametag and didn’t introduce herself, so I couldn’t even begin to tell you her name) brought the food to our table and proceeded to smash her tray into the back of my mother’s head. This resulted in an instant headache, a sizeable lump, and a huge amount of gravy in her hair. After a very brief apology and her insistance that that had never happened before, we tucked into our food… None of which was incredibly impressive. After she took a big bite of her sandwich, I noticed a long silver hair hanging from my aunt’s «Rachel rueben» sandwich which didn’t belong to anyone at our table. She pulled the hair out, declined to eat the rest of the sandwich and informed our waitress, who then asked if she had kept the hair as proof, which is just ridiculous. Why would she keep the hair on the table? We finished, left, and if the insane food poisoning that both my aunt and I are dealing with right now is any indication, I’d say that our meal at Scott’s was the worst dining experience any of us has had in a very long time. If zero stars were an option, that would hands down be my rating. One star is far too generous for the trauma that we endured during and after our meal at Scott’s.

Looking for that old fashioned locally owned restaurant that serves decent food at moderate prices? This is it! The menu is extensive and the staff is attentive. Highly recommended.

Better than the breakfast house. I had the chorizo omelet which was delicious. I also like that you get a free side of pancakes

Recently visited family in Marion and the hotel food,(sorry Baymont) was less than edible. We met for breakfast and as a previous review stated, Holy Crap this place is good!!. I ordered one of the bowls and my sister and her hubby got an omelet. The potatoes were perfect and ham and eggs were perfect and they know how to use cheese. The family loved the omelet that came with pancakes. The price was right, service was fast and it was conveniently located in NECR. Next trip to Marion will include a visit to Scott’s.

Holy crap!!! This place is great. Sat down and not even 5 minutes later I had my breakfast sitting in front of me. Fresh, clean and great tasting meal altogether.

For many years this was a Happy Chef. I liked their hot turkey sandwich as a kid, but it was basically a breakfast place. I remember eating here with friends many a night after bar closing. It became Scott’s, an independently owned single location restaurant, a few years back(they now close at 11:00 p.m. so no more late night breakfasts), but the menu hasn’t changed and the place looks the same. The atmosphere is a little more casual than over at Perkins or Village Inn and one generally does not have to wait for a table on Sunday mornings behind the church crowd which is nice. The service is usually decent although we did once have an impatient and somewhat rude waitress, but she was more amusing than anything else so no big deal. A guy who I’m guessing is «Scott» sometimes comes out to visit with patrons which is cool and adds a nice touch(I think this is Scott because he looks like the little cartoon guy in the menu). The food is reasonably priced. I like their Eggs Benedict, but most recently ordered the«Cowboy Breakfast»(3 eggs, hash browns, 2 sausage links, 2 bacon strips, ham, and choice of pancakes or toast) it cost ten dollars, was a decent breakfast, and certainly filled me up for the money. My lone complaint was that the ham slice was thin as was the bacon. I hope they have not switched bacon, they always had the best thick bacon in town; maybe they ran out and had to use some of the thinner bacon that is generally found in the breakfast buffet. Oh yeah, they have a small breakfast buffet which is not that great, but I think it’s about nine dollars so you can’t really go wrong if you just want to chow down on the standard scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, hash, kielbasa, cubed hash brown fries(the menu hash browns are the shredded which I like better), fruit, cheesy potatoes, juice, etc. Scott’s is the standard meeting place for a friend and I who have breakfast together about once a month; we usually sit for a couple hours and catch up with one another. Nothing fancy here, but if you want to roll out of bed and grab breakfast this is the place to go.

I enjoy coming here. The servers have always been friendly. The atmosphere is VERY family friendly. Every meal I’ve eaten here has always filled me from a completely empty stomach. 10 out of 10 stars if I could.

This was a Happy Chef for many years and it became an independent restaurant about a year ago. Still very popular for breakfast, but does a decent lunch and dinner business too. Solid food and good servers.

Ate here a month ago planning on Happy Chef and seeing it had changed. Had the chicken fried steak and eggs. It was good. I’ll probably go back when I want a basic no-frills breakfast.

Formally the Happy Chef that has been a staple on Blairs Ferry for so many years. Still looks the same inside and out. Appears to be about the same menu and mostly geared towards the breakfast/brunch crowd. Swung in to grab a Sat morning buffet. Waitress was nice. Buffet was small, but had good french toast. There was the typical eggs, bacon, sausages, pancakes, biscuits/gravy, hash, large sausage, home fries, cheezy potatoes, etc. Not much for fresh fruit, salads, etc. Though. I was surprised to see the bill was $ 8.99 per person and $ 1.99 for a soda. At this point with their offerings was not worth it to me. Best of luck to them.
