If ever you have visitors who want to experience a different side of the greater Milwaukee area, escape the city and head north to Cedarburg. Cedar Creek Winery is a charming stop for casual and serious wine lovers alike. You can taste up to four pours of featured wines for free, accompanied by descriptions and recommendations from the staff, and can continue to try more for a small fee. They also offer a tour for $ 5(check the schedule for times). While I love their Cranberry Blush wine, they also have a great Pinot Grigio and Syrah. Lots of award winners here, spanning the full range of reds, rosés, whites, and dessert wines. Located in the Cedar Creek Settlement area, you can peruse the nearby shops or stop for a bite to eat while you’re visiting.

I had a great experience at this local winery in downtown Cedarburg. Their staff is wonderful, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable on Wisconsin vegetation, geography and history when it comes to all things wine. We didn’t get to order any cheese to pair our wines or sit down and relax the way we intended since they close super early on weekdays(5PM). But… I was still pleased with the service. Our host, Connie, was the sweestest. She laughed with us the entire visit, and let us sample double the amount of wine typically included in their samplings because no one else was waiting behind us. I was born and raised in Milwaukee, and had no idea how I grew up nearby and never really took advantage of such a cute, quaint little suburb. Of course, I had visited Cedarburg previously but I never really explored all the little adorable walkable shops, wineries, and local businesses on the main strip of street through their downtown. I left an bought several bottles upon leaving, and the price points were very reasonable.

Four and a half star, really. Its nice. Set in this cute, lover-friendly old Wisconsin town. 3 complimentary tastings. You can purchase more. Most wines are made out of grapes/juices imported from elsewhere. .And the few, that they actually grow in Wisconsin, suffered from 2013 bad summer. And it’s true, they don’t stand out much from the others. they don’t aim into public, rather keep low key. Which might be the reason for the reasonable tags on the wines. I felt the wines were strong, the customer service very pleasant and all quite nice. I’d rather have it open longer hours. It wasn’t hard to make it there last weekend, but in the summertime, I’d rather chill at the beach while the sun is up. And it’s not a preecschool to be closing at 5PM. Worth a visit if you’re in the area. If you make it before they close at 5PM, 7 days a week.

There was nothing that stood out as spectacular about this place but on the flip side, nothing was horrible or negative either. If you’re going to winery’s in the area, this would be a good one to check out but I wouldn’t say to make a special trip across the state for it.

We went here on Christmas Eve to get a few bottles of wine and were blown away from the fantastic service we received. The wine connoisseur, Connie, allowed us to sample various wines, made appropriate suggestions and also gave us a history lesson about each flavor. Connie’s upbeat personality is really contagious. We ended buying 4 bottles! Really recommended!

This place was just fine. Sizable tasting room with a friendly older gentleman who knew exactly what he was talking about. Picked up a few bottles of whites, which were well-priced. Bathrooms upstairs and around the corner; careful in the parking lot, there’re no clear driving/walking paths so cars just go all over the place.

The wine is really great. The tasting is a fun quick thing to do. There is a stand up bar you do all the tasting at. The tour is interesting. I’m glad cedarburg has this place.

If you are a wine lover and in the Cedarburg area, you have got to stop here! Has been there forever and is truly a Cedarburg staple. Very cool looking winery both the exterior and interior. They also offer wine tours which I did not participate in, but I think that would be cool! There is a good variety of stuff there. Different wines, cheese spreads, and a nice tasting area. My favorite part was the tasting area. The man and woman working behind the counter were super friendly and welcoming. We got to try four samples, no charge which I think is super generous. I can’t exactly remember which ones I tried but I liked all of them. If I were there in fall or winter, I definitely would have bought the Cedarburg spice wine because it totally fits the season. I decided on the Cabernet, thought it was the best of the ones I tried. Also not incredibly pricey which was great! Totally recommend this place :)

I absolutely enjoyed the wine tour and tasting, but was a little disappointed that we didn’t get to taste the Strawberry Blush as it was sold out and won’t be back until next year’s strawberry fest. Part of the available samples during our tour included the Chardonnay, Marquette, Waterfall Riesling, Cedarburg Spice and Rose’. My favorites were the Rose’ and Cedarburg Spice, but I’m waiting for the Strawberry Blush to come back, I’ve heard so much about it, can’t wait. Overall, this place was great, the video they showed during the tour wasn’t too long or too short, it was just right, and the tour guide was great, very funny and engaging, made it worth while and didn’t put anyone to sleep. Can’t wait to go back!

Such a fun and cute place to visit. Go for a winery tour and tasting and you won’t regret it! I’m not a wine drinker and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

This place is just lovely! Local Wisconsin made wines, sold in a cool building which also houses several other shops. And Connie is icing on the cake– fun, super friendly and quite a hoot. My friend and I very much enjoyed a free wine tasting. We sampled 5 different varieties:(seasonal) strawberry blush, Pinot Grigio, a cranberry variety, as well as a Rosé that is blended with brandy. They were all delicious! But I must say the seasonal strawberry blush is to die for. Absolutely delectable. Being that it will not be made again until next year I was forced to bring home a bottle ;). The Pinot is also great. Very fair prices as well. Check this place out! It’s a good time!

My wife and I did the tour, and Tanner was really great. We learned a lot about the winery, and the process. The tasting afterwards was really fun as well. Would definitely go back, especially now that we belong to their case club!

The Cedar Creek winery is so cute! You are bound to find your new favorite wine here. They make many of the wines on site in the lower level of the winery. The others are made at the sister winery, Wollersheim, in Prairie du Sac, WI. Seasonal wines are available. I absolutely love the Strawberry Wine. It is released the end of April/beginning of May and available until it is sold out, which is generally the 4th of July or sooner. You maybe able to find it in local liquor shops or grocery stores like the Mequon Piggly Wiggly after the Winery is sold out for the season. It is so delicious and refreshing — perfect for a summertime cookout! The flavor is slightly different from year to year because the harvest of grapes and strawberries is going to be slightly different year to year(I think that is so cool because it really makes it a «limited edition» wine). The holiday wines are released mid/late October and are also very good. The Cedarburg Spice is perfect for the holidays — you can drink it room temperature or warmed up, and tastes like Christmas in a glass! Make sure you come here with time to spare. They offer wine tours for a few dollars, and complimentary wine tasting. They usually have some samples of cheeses and/or cheese spreads as well. The cranberry blush cheese spread is amazing!!! It also freezes well. The fudge cheese is also superb and makes for an amazing and unique gift. Besides wine, cheese, and other little snacky items, there are also beautiful wine glasses, wine racks, and other accessories for sale. The winery is located in the Cedar Creek Settlement, which is home to 3 floors of cute little boutique shops and the Crème and Crêpe Café. All of the wines are very reasonably priced for the quality. You can also join the case club — for free — and receive a discount on cases as well as invitations to future special events. The winery is always a go-to spot during the local Cedarburg festivals such as Strawberry Fest in June and Wine & Harvest Fest in September. However, I recommend visiting the winery at any other time of the year to really enjoy what the winery has to offer and to sample the wines(there is no sampling during festivals). I am already looking forward to next year’s Strawberry Wine!

Not a great selection of wines, pretty much what you would expect from a small town winery. Can’t compare to Chiselled Grape across the street! But 4 complimentary tastings is worth stopping in at least before heading over to Chiselled Grape for a glass or bottle.

A large group of us ladies went here this past Saturday for a friend’s birthday and a private tour and had a really good time. We were a bit of an intense group as we rented a school bus from MKE to our own personal little Napa Valley aka Cedarburg and were indulging in some champagne on the bus ride up. Our tour guide Stephanie had guts just to take on our rowdy group, and she was great. The perfect amount of sass mixed with knowledge that we needed. Learning about the process was great and she answered all of our questions thoroughly. The wine was mostly on the sweeter side, but was decent. The pinot grigio was probably my favorite. We probably got to taste about 6 wines in all, and then a glass is $ 5 or bottles for $ 10. I don’t know if I would go back again, but I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area who enjoys wine and learning about the process.

The tour was great! Our guide(I didn’t catch her name) was personable and funny, making the group feel intimate though it was a bit large. We learned some fun facts about Cedarburg, as well as about the families that have run the winery. She informed us well about the wine, considering I am not educated on them at all, and made the tasting entertaining. The winery is very pretty, the wines are quite good, it was a well-spent Saturday afternoon.

If you have any sense(or a taste for wine) at all, you will definitely hit this place up! They offer some amazing wines here! My husband and I sampled some fantastic ones as well as some STRONG brandy wine. Bob was the man helping us, and he was so knowledgeable with everything. He told us where to start and which ones were best with what. He was quite the conversationalist and we had a lot to talk about! We ended up buying some amazing wines. They also have a few cute little stores that offer a lot of kitschy wine items that you never knew you couldn’t live without!

The tour is $ 3 and consists of a tour of the facility and a video that gives you a good base knowledge about wines and the history of the Cedarburg Settlement. The tasting at the end is lead by a tour guide. They teach you the proper way to assess a wine. I even learned about the trilling wine to experience the full body and flavors of the wine, basically a glorified gargle that help the alcohol evaporate and absorb into your system quicker. The wines are so good I ended up buying a whole case on my first trip and became a case club member! Thank goodness they ship. My favorite is the Settlement Gold. I also enjoy their Waterfall Riesling, Cranberry Blush, and Cedarburg Spice(enjoyed both warmed up or chilled). The tour was a «barrel» of fun… hence the photo :) Those barrels were what they used to ferment the wine before they changed to the metal tanks.
