This place is actually quite expensive for most of the food items. Beer isn’t cheap, either. The food is good(we had BYO burgers). The beef they used was good quality and very flavorful and the patties were thick with a strong grilled flavor on the outside. I asked for my burger to be rare, it came out medium. My dining partner’s burger came out medium well as opposed to medium. They use a farm bun which doesn’t quite hold up to the meat and toppings. The onion rings are actually fried shoe string onions. They were delicious and plentiful, just not quite what we were expecting. The steak fries were thick and not as many as you’d expect. Again, the food was very good. Our waitress seemed to hate life, which was a bit of a bummer. It’s very casual and sports one of those women’s restrooms full of pictures of attractive men and witty memes. Since it’s at the end of one of our favorite bike rides, I imagine we’ll be back.

If I were rating this place based on the Wednesday night blues, I would give 5 stars. By all means if you like the blues come on in on a Wednesday night. I am in town quite often and could spend a lot of time and money in this place were it not for two issues Number 1: Friendliness Earlier reviews are accurate concerning some of the employees. Not all of them mind you, but the ones that have been«earning» bad reviews are still there. I feel sorry for them because they appear to hate their jobs if not their lives. I have been here many times(Wednesdays) and have never seen a smile on their faces. Number 2: Restrooms I/We can only stay and spend money in this place for a limited time because eventually we need to use a restroom. We will not use the restrooms at Mortons due to the lack of cleanliness and the chosen«décor». The walls are plastered(floor to ceiling) with nearly naked magazine photos. If that’s what you’re into? Good for you. Us, not so much. In any event, the owners choice to decorate in this manner is completely unnecessary and has cost them money out of my pocket at least.

I wanted to my girlfriend to experience her first fish fry, she’s from out of state. We looked online and found this place. We decided to check it out. We walk in and there is no one to seat us and no sign telling us to seat ourselves. We stood there awkwardly, looking around, made eye contact with waitstaff, and(after receiving confused looks) sat ourselves at around 5:00. We then sat there for about 10 minutes before our waitress stopped over. We both ordered waters to start out. She glared at us and walked off. We then sat and talked a bit. The waitress returned quickly, then walked off before we could order. We then waited there(having decided what we wanted) for about 20 mins. I keep looking around for our waitress and she was nowhere in sight. The hostess refilled my water twice. The waitress finally made her way over to us to take our orders. She rushed us and started to walk away mid-question. She made her way back to us, and I ordered soup. She then went and collected my soup. The soup, broccoli cheese, was quite good. However, that was the only food we received for about half an hour. Finally, our entrees came. My girlfriend’s cod was fishy(as a fish eater I know the difference between normal fish flavor and a fishy flavor) and not fresh tasting. My snapper was decent however had clearly been frozen. We then ate what we could stomach and put our napkins on our plates. Our waitress never returned after she delivered our meals(we waited an additional 20 min after eating). I finally gave up, looked at the menu to figure out how much I owed, threw money on the table and walked out. Our stomachs were upset and felt sick for the rest of the night.

I’ve been here several times and finally decided not to return anymore. The food was always good but has become so overpriced it’s just not worth it anymore. Add on top of that the horrible service and sometimes plain rude waitress and it becomes clear there are many other places to visit in the area for a good meal and better service. You would think the owners would catch on?

Always loved this place. Casual, good food and not too pricey. My husband and I went for Friday night fish dinner and we were disappointed. Our bill for the evening was 90.00. We had two fish dinners and a bottle of wine. The wine was a mediocre bottle nothing special probably a 10. Bottle at the grocery store. Most every price on the menu has been raised. I’m sure it needed to be done but think they have gone overboard. We won’t be spending Friday night there

I had to change my review. This place is awful now. I would give it 0 if I could! It used to be one of my favorites. From the second we walked in, it was terrible. The crabby, hippie daughter that yelled at me for helping her move a chair for our table. «our insurance doesn’t cover if you get hurt moving a chair». Really? And then we got yelled at for asking for a soda refill. «we are not like the big chains that buy soda in bulk. We are just a small family business and can’t afford to give free refills» Really? Everyone gives free soda refills. And then there is the food. Just gross! We will NEVER be back!!!

We went there for a Friday fish fry. It started well, the soups were good but that’s about it. After our food came we didnt see our waitress until 10 – 15 minutes after we actually finished eating then it took another 5 – 10 to get the check after we asked for it. Other tables didn’t get this treatment so maybe it was because we were younger but who knows. The portions were pretty good, the«steak fries» were good but they were just cut up potatoes that had been deep fried. The fish was pretty bland though and the entire meal came out to nearly $ 50. The food wasn’t worth that price and the service was bad enough that we probably will never go back.

Ate here before, but a few years ago. Food was outstanding then. We were in area again and it stood out. Should have known when you walk in to a place on a Friday nite and it is 25% full. We decided to do the fish fry. We had blue gill and cod. Blue gill was good. Cod was over fried to the point that one piece was crunchy all the way thru. Cole slaw was a lite brown very dry and peppery. Being in «the business» for over 20 years, I would have never let that cod dinner or slaw go out of the kitchen. I was so disappointed I did not want to complain. Service was good, but the place had 2 bartenders, 4 ppl at the bar we still had to wait for the wait staff to bring our drink order after 10min. A lil team work on taking care of a customer. Ok enough said on my part.

I came here during the Ozaukee County Fair weekend with a group of friends. We actually did the wine tour and then came here for a bite to eat. The food wasn’t all that impressive but the inside décor was amazing and definitely eye catching at all angles. The place had a nice warm cozy feel to it, seemed like a lot of locals frequent the place regularly. The staff/servers made us feel very welcomed and comfortable, and took our orders right away. I ordered the cheese steak and fries, both items were dry and hard. I tried dipping one of the four big steak potatoes in ketchup and it still didn’t help. The cheese steak sandwich appeared to be served on french bread, which was a typical french bread selection but it wasn’t buttered or warm. Plus they sprinkled paprika over the bread and onto the plate, a unique touch to try to spruce up an otherwise boring entrée. The cheese was melted on top of the lettuce which made for an unappealing, unaesthetic sight. If you’re going to serve cheese and lettuce together on a sandwich, shouldn’t the cheese be melted before putting the lettuce on, so the lettuce can maintain some of its crispiness and be placed on top of the melted cheese? Or maybe that’s just a matter of personal choice or preparation style. I’ve heard that they have great bloody marys and awesome ribs, so maybe I should have ordered that instead. For the $ 20 I spent on this meal, the best thing was the cool refreshing glass of coca cola soda, and of course a great time spent with friends on a beautiful summer night!

Grilled Veggies are a must, steaks are a must, French onion soup is a must. But, one of my biggest pet peeves, horrible service.

The food was great! Serving the French onion soup with a scissors… genius! Our server Erin had excellent customer service, however, the bartender, not so much. It was Super Bowl Sunday, and we asked if she could turn up the sound on the TV. Her response, «You’re killing me.» She turned it up for the halftime show, then immediately shut it off once it was over. We would have stayed and spent more money there, but the only the only music she would play was the Beatles. I like the Beatles, but come on… It’s Super Bowl Sunday!

This is mainly a rating based on the food: A really awesome, old style atmosphere. Most similar to the style of a Brit pub. Good beer selection. Seems like a great place to have a drink and watch a game. The food was just okay. Nothing special. I wouldn’t recommend coming here just for the food, but if you’re here for a drink, there’s enough of a selection to grab a bite of you want it.

I’d give this place 0 stars if I could. I did Unilocal beforehand and wish I would have listened to the rest of the terrible reviews. Unless you are one of the«regulars» who sits at the bar, you are nobody. Our drink cups weren’t filled up unless we asked, the servers were unfriendly, after we ordered it took nearly an hour for our two sandwiches and a bowl of soup to come, the food was cold, the bread was hard, and we had to track down our server for the check. Trust the rest of the horrible reviews and STAYAWAY!

My partner and I were in Cedarburg Sunday night, on a holiday weekend. We didn’t expect as many restaurants to be closed as there were. Thankfully, Morton’s was open. There are a lot of mixed reviews for this place. I believe our experience shows those mixed reviews are not justified. Morton’s is a typical Wisconsin supper club /bar. If you’re looking for fancy, go somewhere else. Upon entry, no one greets you, but it was easy enough to find a seat. We were approached by a server fairly quickly, and she took our drink orders as well as our food order at the same time. We were looking for the Filet, but knew neither of us could eat one alone. Our server was gracious enough to allow us to split the twin Filets between the two of us including splitting all of the side dishes. She delivered an extra large salad, that was fresh and tasty. The Peppercorn Parmesan dressing was just the right touch. While waiting for the main entrée, we were entertained by the various characters at the bar and at the tables around us. If you don’t enjoy bar banter, again this is not the place to go. After a reasonable wait, our entrée was delivered. The twins Filets and accompanying sides were more than enough for two people. The Filets were cooked to perfection with a garlic butter topping, yum. But I ask you, what restaurant do you know serves acorn squash? It was delicious!!! The seasoning and spices used on the Filet made this meal outstanding. Add to that an attentive waitress and the overall supper club ambience; what more could you ask for?

Pros: French onion soup Cons: service, cost, all the other food The French onion soup was as good as advertised by all other reviews. However. The food is quite pricey for the overall generally mediocre quality. The service was atrocious, there were 4 tables in the restaurant and 2 waitstaff and our waitress had to be flagged down for refills, the bill and to pay the bill. Unless you are dying for good French onion soup, I’d look elsewhere.

For the area– the food is probs the best around. We liked it over farmstead. What to get: *surprisingly their Mexican dishes are good ** best thing here– French onion soup * steak with blue cheese What not to get: *their wings. They are the size of actual fryer chicken legs. So gross *no surprise their stir fry Why they get 2 stars over three stars. 1) this is on a scale. The food in the area is not good 2) SERVICEISHORRIBLE. ONEWAITRESSISTHERUDESTWAITRESS I’VEEVERWITNESSED. Time after time. She must be a family member of the owner because she sincerely just doesn’t care at all. It’s actually almost funny how apparently rude she is.

The bloody marys were on the small side here but they were bloody good. More zesty than spicy thanks to a lemon wedge, the breakfast-in-a-glass really packs a punch. The pickle spear, shrimp, olive and sausage will get rid of that hangover in a jiffy. Comes with a beer chaser that I would rather have traded in for more bloody mary. Morton’s also has some breakfast/brunch specials. The Slammer(which you can get with chicken or steak) might sound to you like a breakfast burrito, but in reality it’s more of a chicken or steak quesadilla topped with scrambled eggs and salsa. The boiled potatoes that come on the side are pretty good thanks to the addition of copious amounts of bacon. Their lunch/dinner menu also looked pretty good; can’t go wrong with a burger and fries. And if you’re too drunk to read all of that, just remember: bloody mary.

I really enjoyed the food and ambiance. The baked French onion soup had so much cheese, it comes accompanied by a pair of little scissors! It doesn’t get much better than that! It was so delicious and filling that by the time our jalapeño cheese brats with mounds of delicious onion rings arrived, we could barely eat anything at all. It’s sad other reviewers had poor service. I thought the service was perfectly acceptable.

What can I say… This place came recommended by someone who worked at TJ Ryan’s. My husband and I figured we would give it a try instead of going to our usually pizza spot. The décor was kind of wierd — it looked like a little corner bar that belongs in a small town that is full of hunters. The food was okay — I had a build your own burger and it was cooked like how I wanted it to be done. Although, I felt that the burger needed a little more seasoning(it was a little bland). Otherwise, it was fine… for the most part. Although the kicker that got me was that once we got the bill, we noticed that they charged us $ 2.25 for 2 cups of water with lemon… seriously? Usually when I go somewhere, it’s free. That just left a bad taste in my mouth… ugh.

So after stumbling around downtown Cedarburg(we may or may not have had some amazing drinks at both the winery AND the brewery before we ate…) we decided we needed some food in our stomachs, and we needed it THEN. Bob, our winery expert, suggested Morton’s for dinner. He is a local, so we trust his opinion! We were a little confused because when people say«Mortons» around Chicago, we think«Steakhouse». Turns out we couldn’t be further from the truth! This place(which was kiddie corner to the inn we were staying at – perfect stumbling distance!) is a quaint little bar with a small-town atmosphere. It was very swank, very laid back. Perfect for a nice little meal and some drinks! however, it was VERY busy on a Friday night, and you might have to get cozy and rub a few elbows. If that makes you uncomfortable, then this is not the place for you! Our server was good, don’t get me wrong, but she was a little heavy on the pouting and the attitude. Sort of like we were bothering her by being there. That being said, the food and drinks were delicious! They were featuring Fireball Whiskey in their little menu. If you have never had this, you NEED it! It is like taking a shot of something that tastes like those yummy Redhot candies :) Soooo delicious and smooth going down! We ordered the buffalo wings as an appetizer, and they were HOTHOTHOT. Way too spicy for my white-girl palette! For an entrée, my husband ordered the enchiladas, and those were really good. They came with a side of rice. I was just going to eat some of his food, if I was still hungry after my side salad and my french onion soup. Let me tell you about this French Onion Soup. There is SOMUCHCHEESE in the soup, that they come with a pair of safety scissors to cut through the cheese because a spoon isn’t going to help you! You have been warned! Overall, it was a very pleasant meal, and we will be back if we trek to Cedarburg again :)
